Review

"Lady Justice and the Ghost Whisperer", like each of the stories in this series, masterfully blends at least three fascinating subplots, only tangentially related, but fully captivating and thought-provoking. And, as always, at least some of the action is straight out of today's news headlines.
Mr. Thornhill is uniquely capable of combining humor, an unlikely cast of realistically believable characters, and fresh drama, into a story you won't want to put down until you reach the final page. When you do reach that final page, you will enjoy a sense of satisfaction in how the conflicts were resolved, and most certainly will know you got your money's worth with your purchase of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author depicted each character beautifully. Each one was introduced each into the story with a seamless clarity. There was tension, humor and vivid description which gave a wonderful sense of fun and and mystery.
The plot revolves around the appearance of ghosts who have a mission to fulfill I have never had a paranormal experience, but my mother has had several which were really weird to listen to her tell them them. I can share one short one.

She was sleeping on a couch in her brother's law office. There was a very heavy mirror hanging on the wall.above the couch. She suddenly woke up and threw herself off the couch. As she told us later, she had been dreaming about her dead brother who was screaming her name telling her to wake up because the mirror is going to fall . After she got up from the floor she looked back at at the couch. The mirror had fallen directly where she had been!

Light-hearted and enjoyable, I still found this mystery to be....well, I think the word might be "scatter-brained". It meandered hither and yon, what with ghosts and treasure hunts and terrorists and local festivals. It was well-written and edited, humorous (although the male fascination with toilet humor always escapes me!), but the paranormal aspects (although perfect for this Halloween season in which I've been reading the book) were pretty unbelievable...and there speaks someone who has gone on many a ghost tour and accompanied a local ghost hunting group as a "trainee"! I thoroughly enjoyed the fascinating historical background provided the reader, which even included a link to a YouTube video regarding one of the mansions described in the story; I'm always a sucker, too, for an ILLUSTRATED book, and this one was filled with photographs of the places and people who compromised part of the story. Actually, if I were rating it solely on my actual enjoyment of the book, I'd probably award it 3 1/2 stars, but since Amazon doesn't allow half-stars, I'll error on the side of generosity.

I got this book as a free download, and with all of Robert Thornhill books I am never disappointed. We follow Walt and his partner down a bit of a paranormal path this time around, and as usual the Author also weaves what is going on in the world into the storyline. The only negative thing about the book was that there wasn't more mention of his motley crew of friends and family in it, they are such fun characters, but I am hopeful that we will hear more from them in other books to come. I also like that the Author is including some pictures with the book when he is writing about real places, a nice touch. Even if you are not familiar with the series you will enjoy the read since there is usual some backstory, and my favorite thing of all is that our hero and his friends are all older and yet still able to get into trouble, handle action, romance and everything is sprinkled with lots of humor. A fun series that I can't get enough of.

Good story lines and like the way he interjects current events into his stories. It's nice to enjoy reading an ebook that is not full of typos, as so many other ebboks that I have read are.

This newest book in the Lady Justice series has paranormal mystery, some Civil War in Jackson County, MO history, and a threat of terrorist attack. I especially enjoy when Mr. Thornhill adds photos and/or websites. It makes the story come alive.
It's always nice to find out how Walt and the gang are doing. There's rarely a dull moment.

I have this book five stars because It's really different to other paranormal books as the characters are older. This book has a feel good factor about it ideal for reading on cold winter nights all cozy in front of the fire with a nice cup of tea and chocolates. I really enjoyed it and will read the rest of the series of Lady Justice books.
