Lee Ashford for Readers' Favorite
Lady Justice and the Geriatric Gumshoes is the latest in a long line of hits by popular author Robert Thornhill.
As always, Robert Thornhill masterfully blends intriguing, straight-from-the-headlines mystery with a satisfying nod to the humorous side of life. Any reader who enjoys a good mystery tale or has an appreciation for good humor (or both) will certainly become a fan of the Lady Justice series of short novels. If you've not yet had the pleasure of immersing yourself in one of Walt Williams' many contemporary adventures, Lady Justice and the Geriatric Gumshoes is as good a place to start as any.

(Originally posted on Audible.com) The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. Wow, this book had so many capers in it my head is still spinning and I stayed up way too late to finish it. As the title implies, the book is about three senior citizens that get in over their heads trying to help Lady Justice. After one of the three gumshoe wannabes gets into VERY hot water, it's Walt and Kevin to the rescue. The Geriatric Gumshoes are involved in at least four other investigations and the witty one-liners that make this series so much fun are also in abundance. Get this book now! You definitely won't regret it and will find yourself smiling, rolling your eyes, and laughing out loud.

Another great story in this incredible series "Lady Justice". This is book 27 and they just keep getting better. This book we are introduced to 3 more geriatric gumshoes. Robert Thornhill does such a great job of bringing current issue to light in his books. George Kuch is the narrator for this series and he is wonderful bringing life to this great series.

Lady Justice and the Geriatric Gumshoe is my twenty-seventh enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns, one-liners & references to books & songs including the narrator singing. Throughout the book I found myself smiling a lot & at times laughing out loud as I listened to this book with my wife & son who did the same. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Sixth Sense. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)

I am (dubiously) proud to say that I am of Mr. Thornhill's generation; the Lone Ranger/Gene Autry/Roy Rogers/Hoppalong Cassidy period when there were real heroes who stood up for truth and morality, honor and proper behavior. Now we've got teenagers with guns shooting up schools, killing other teenagers for no reason at all. One thing Mr. Thornhill did not point out is certain states allowing recreational marijuana; a slippery slope if ever there was one.

I loved the book. Several of my guy friends would fit right in. Just because we are older does not mean we do not know right from wrong. As I see things, it all starts in the home. Unfortunately, parents work two jobs each just to put a roof over the family's heads and food on the table,, leaving little time to teach right from wrong. Things were better in the 50s; less technology but more respect.

The 'Geriatric Gumshoes' had the right idea; get involved in the community (but don't endanger your life). The old adage is so true; the only thing needed for evil to flourish is for good men (and women) to do nothing.

I look forward to reading more of Mr. Thornhill's work. After all, these are my people.

Lady Justice and the Geriatric Gumshoes (Lady Justice #27)
    by Robert Thornhill

Walt Williams and friends return with an addition of a trio of new untrained but enthuisiastic wannabe PI's. They face drug dealers, organized crime family, and lets not forget sex trafficers. There is plenty of action, drama, and as always humor to round out the story.

I love the way Robert Thornhill brings to light current hot issues facing mid- America and the rèst of the country.

    Thanks for another great book!!!

Sometimes Lady Justice needs a helping hand, but the three retirees who make Robert Thornhill’s Geriatric Gumshoes might have a lot to learn. The characters are fun, filled with aging vitality and wonderful memories, and quite determined to do right by their neighbors, whether it’s saving schoolchildren from predatory drug sellers, stopping the slavery of girls sold at truck stops, or just acting as crossing guards. The novel includes several cases, loosely connected, and lots of well-researched facts replete with startling details. Memories of days gone by are convincingly nostalgic. Topics come straight from the newspaper headlines. And conspiracy theories are nicely sidelined, though they clearly play a larger part in other books of the series.

The stories are fun to read, enhanced by amusingly bungling characters, slowed down by facts and speeded up by cinematic excitements, car chases, threats of violence and more.

Disclosure: I got a copy on a deal and I enjoyed it.

Whew, there was quite a bit happening in this book. There was the Italian mob boss' daughter and grandson getting kidnapped, the Russian mob after a young man, drug dealers outside the High School, a meth lab, theft , sex trafficking of young girls and drive by shootings.
Thank goodness for the occasional humor to lighten things up. I'm always ready to find out what Walt and the gang are doing but I especially liked Jerry's poem at the going away party! LOL
As usual, Lady Justice comes out the winner.
Another good story by Mr. Thornhill.

4.0 out of 5 stars Starstruck seniors on the loose
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 3, 2017
A fun old fashioned read made up of different cases involving everything from drug dealers to sex rings to the Mob. Our two seniors are joined by three others who are starstruck by the deeds of our two PI's and want to emulate them. If you get bored with a single storyline then this will be right up your alley as these (although they follow in a thread) ate all complete in themselves and can be read in a coffee break.
