I just finished reading Alex and Terry from the Bittersweets collection for the second time. I fell in love with all of the characters and all of the situations. And the way Suzanne describes all the sights and sounds of the Philly locations is just magical. I want to go live there on that street in Mt. Airy.

Suzanne's books never disappoint me. I look forward to each and every one she writes. And I love the way she can write about any type of situation and make it perfectly addicting to keep going until the end. And her endings! Wow! Just wow! Always on point and usually they completely blindside you.

This was a fabulous storyline with lots of interesting characters. The pace of this story was perfect and written with lots of love and good feelings. I enjoyed getting to know all of the secondary characters in this story, the descriptions were entertaining and memorable.
The only reason I'm giving this a four star rating is because of the lack of an epilogue to tie up this story, otherwise it was exceptional.

A different kind of story that probably isn't for everyone. It's a quick read and maybe even a little unrealistic, but it kept my attention with its quirky neighborhood characters and mix of humor, seriousness, and romance. It takes place in Philadelphia, and living just across the river from Philly myself, I found that made it more interesting for me. This is more like a longer-than-normal short story, with not a lot of character development, but with enough information to still make it enjoyable. I think it was the unusual characters and their relationships with each other that I liked most.

This can be read as a standalone, and I'd place it in the rom/com, chick flick genre, but with a warmth I felt endearing. Kind of "bittersweet."

Terry is a hot shot lawyer advocating to become a partner in her firm until she breaks the rule about no fraternization with other employees, which blows her world apart. This is another amazing book in this series.

Bittersweets: Terry and Alex managed to setup a triangle that worked with an "evil guy" that's really not that evil .

Terry Kovac, junior lawyer but well on her way to partnership, had had enough of her ER Doc BF Arvin's immaturity. Arvin is "nice" to be around, but he's nothing really special, and he's just petulant when Terry disagrees with him, or called him out on his hypocrisy when he had 10 girls "they're just my friends" at his house party. But with no other prospects, Terry kept Arvin around... until a new law clerk was assigned to her, Alex Hawthorne. Alex is handsome, charming, and after a couple tequila shots and a hot one-night stand, a VERY good lover. Tery and Alex agreed to see each other again... and they can't stop. But there is an anti-fraternization policy at work. They kept it quiet, but when they were exposed, Terry and Alex have to decide whether their love is worth risking their career over...

The book didn't get a 5/5 rating because the ending is a trope: Terry made the better choice, at least for her. You can guess where the story went for the ending. There was no twist.

First I didn't finish the book.
I didn't like the writing style, which could be just me. I didn't like how they met then without any story they've slept together and are talking about moving in. No Thank you.

I read this book in one night I had to find out what happened to Terry. I loved reading about the neighbors caring for each other, parents, descriptions of the town with small stores and their owners. Reminded me of when I grew up and people cared and knew all their neighbors and could shop in small stores. The story was fast moving and I was always waiting for the bomb to drop! It's a great love story with all the heartache, healing and of course, some sex!

5.0 out of 5 stars A heartwarming romance and a literary diamond.

Just loved this book. The author is a favourite of mine and I snap up every book written by her for sale on Amazon. This novel is both a heartwarming romance and a literary diamond. It's so refreshing to read a book where attention is given to structure, rounding and grounding the characters; allowing the reader to enter beautiful scenery and settings. Suzanne Jenkins also engages the reader with the hearts and minds of those in the storyline. The author's artistry is such, one really feels a connection with Terry and Alex, that wrenches the heart and touches the soul. Another book I will treasure.
