Demon (Book 4) Darkness Rules (Mike Rawlins and Demon the Dog) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 184 ratings

A break in the Haunt incursions worries the Demon Inc crew. Since invading the Haunt dimension, no sign of the dreaded monsters shows up on their early warning system. Demon also discovers Mike’s been hiding new powers from a Haunt wound suffered during their invasion of the Haunt dimension.

Mike gained strength, and mind control to the point he can make others hear Demon. Hilarity ensues as the sarcastic Demon teams with his paranormal pal, converted Haunt Mongo George, to turn the Demon Inc headquarters and crew inside out.

Danger returns as the teens uncover a Haunt plot with changed tactics. Their dimension, imploding due to Demon Inc’s last assault, forces the monsters into drawing evil spirits on earth into their human dimension takeover.

Demon munches Bad Caspers as the crew calls the evil spirits just as easily as he does Haunts. Teamed with an amped up Mike Rawlins and the Demon Inc teens, the Haunts find out what hell on earth really means.

Another great read by Deleo. Spoiler alert for those who don't want to know what's in the book.

This one starts with Mike, Demon and Denny returning to their lab complex at Demon Inc. Central. George the haunt and Sandy let Mike know nothing is going on.

Things have been quiet, to quiet, in the world of haunts. Nothing is happening and Mike and the crew are wondering just why that is.

Mike has a new haunt scar from a wound he incurred in the last battle in the haunt demension. A wound that Mike didn't get holy water on fast enough. Its another power for Mike. This new power gives Mike the ability to form a protective shield around himself and anyone else.

Mike's mind control is still working. In short Mike Rawlins is one serious opponent for the haunts and anyone else who tries to take him on.

Mike is also able to channel Demon's voice so that everyone can hear him. He's also able to control the minds of anyone he wants. Mike's one bad ass demon fighter.

Demon Inc. is still putting taping shows for the SyFy channel and Gail's Father is still the man in charge of filming, editing and making sure that everything gets to the SyFy channel.

Daughter Gail is still pissed at Mike. She won't take his calls or see him ever since she caught him in the school parking lot in a hug with Mary Astel. The secretary for the school.

Mike isn't worried about it because what Mary did was a direct result of Mike going into her mind to free her from a haunt. This contact leaves women feeling insatiable lust for Mike. Mike feels that if Gail can't speak with him and let him explain it to her then she's not worth worrying about.

Sandy is another who's in lust with Mike. She's tried to get into his bed a few times but Mike's not going there at all. He's doing his best to throw of the temptation of good looking women throwing themselves at him but its getting hard.

Mike is 6'5" and he's got a rock hard body and abilities that most know nothing about. He's also a man of honor and considers his word his bond. He's a great guy to have as a friend and one serious bad ass to have as an enemy.

Mike gets the opportunity to help Mick Burnetti who's a local crime boss. A crime boss who has been slowly getting out of crime and into legal businesses. A move that his daughter has been pushing for. She showed him he could actually make more money honestly than by being dishonest. His daughter is having a problem and he can't get either himself or his men into her house to see if everything is all right. MIke and the crew agree to help.

So begins another fine read by Deleo.

This one has Mike, Demon, Sandy, Gail, a Gail who can open portals, George, Denny, Connie, Janis, Stan, Mikes Mom Jen and Dad Dan, a run in with drug dealers, the head drug dealer wanting Mike and his family dead, another run in with ghosts at Burnetti's daugter's house, Alishia Navarrone of the FBI, a bomb in a hotel, the plan to capture the bombers and the bomb, ghosts who are a problem, Mike's plan to destroy the haunt dimension, an attack on the haunt dimension that pays dividends, School, those wanting to kill Mike, those wanting to land in his bed, a Demon who keeps one and all on the right path and Mike Rawlins and Demon Inc. doing their best to destroy the haunts and save the day.

    Another Five Star read.

I have to admit that while Mr Deleo is one of my favorite writers, this was not my favorite series. Having said that, this was maybe best book in series. I can't imagine how he comes up with these ideas and character, but I hope he never stops writing.

This series is more along young adult type book. I am far from that age but still enjoyed it. Fun book, good guys win again.

Great finish to this portion of the story! Nicely wrapped up the Haunts while leaving the door open for several angles in the future! Can’t wait to see what happens next!!
