    Hit the Road, Jake! (The Lindsey Lark Series book 3) by Cricket Rohman is the third book I have read by the author. I really like her style. I love the fun, and dialog between the characters. The plots are fantastic and I like how the author timed the twist in the plots. It is fast paced and twist that I wouldn’t have guessed. I really love that I couldn’t guess the twist in the plots. Some books you can figure it out pretty quickly but Cricket Rohman seems to write the story and keeps her readers guessing and wanting more. I am of fan of cozy mysteries and then was fits perfectly.
    I don’t think you have to read the first two in the series but I highly recommend it that way you can understand the characters better. This story is about Jake and his new bride Lindsay with their dog Wendell, if you love dogs you will love Wendell. I want a Wendell. Oh and yes their pet bird Malcom. Jake wants to write detective stories and Lindsay is a teacher but she goes around teaching other teachers her art journal method of teaching kids. Such a great idea. I wish I had a teacher like that when I was young. I loved art.
    When a school invites them to come and do a workshop, there is usually a mystery going on at the school, Jake is kind of undercover and works with the person who wanted them to figure the mystery out and Lindsay teaches the teachers. I also love that they are from Arizona, since that is where I am from and love reading what the author writes about the cities. I am personally needing a little weekend away trip to Flagstaff. They also visited New Mexico and Colorado in their RV with their animals. Of course there are plenty of adventures on their trips.
    I loved the whole plot and the twist and the way she brought in other characters from the previous books. I loved the ending and I am hoping there is more. I am not a writer, but I can think of a few more books in this series.
    I give the story and the series five stars. I loved it all. The summer is hot here in Arizona and I enjoy reading a good story.

    Never a dull moment reading this story. Some of the adventure s seem to be bizarre but any couple that included a Mastif dog and a bird should reach no limits of imagination.

    Absolutely love the idea of an RV couple going around solving mysteries at schools while doing teaching programs. This couple with their dog and bird are so good together. The storyline is fast-paced and exciting as so much happens before you get to the wonderful ending. This is one series that will definitely stay on my kindle, to get reread again and again. Well done.

    This is the third book in the Lindsey Lark Series. I have not read the other two book. This may or may not have helped in the reading of this book. It is a stand alone, but I think I would have understood the character development more if I read the first two books. The book has a quirky rhyming theme to it. I understand that this was part of the story line, but I am not a fan of sing song type books. I did like the plot of this story. A husband and wife team traveling around in their RV with their adorable Mastiff, a sweet gentle giant of a dog and co hero of the book. Along with a sweet bird. They are private detectives hired by various school districts to uncover problems associated in their schools. Lindsey is an educator who runs workshops aimed at helping teachers teach better. Her husband, Jake is the detective that works undercover to fix the underlying problems. Along the journey the team run into several obstacles that lead to an exciting ending. This is not a romance per say, but the couple is loving and adorable together. The pacing is a little hard to follow at times. It may be however the rhyming that distracted me. I enjoyed the conclusion of this story. I believe that the character development would have be better for me if I had read the first two books of this series. I would recommend this book, but suggest reading the series from the start to get the full gist of the overall story.
