Mistakes and misunderstandings are always difficult to navigate. Can Adam convince Eden he’s still the only man for him before it’s too late?

- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2017Adam and Eden are as sweet as a couple can be. They are both instantly likable and so are many of their sidekicks (loved the shrieking wonder). You can't help it but cheering them on, hoping for their happy ever after. Great summer read and great job, Ms. McClung, writing characters we all wish were our friends :)
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2017This is the first book that I've read by Ms. McClung and I've got to say that I started out really liking the story and the characters. I was also, in the beginning, impressed by it not be error ridden. It was off to a very good start.
Both Adam and Eden have women and children in their lives that they love and help support. For Adam it's his widowed best friend, Maggie and her three children. For Eden it's his sister Eve and her daughter Jackie. I really got a laugh out of Maggie's three year old and was very touched by her reason for screaming. And it was very refreshing to meet nice supportive women.
The set up was coming along nicely with a whole cast of characters and after meeting the screamer I was really looking forward to meeting everyone else.
However, that's where it began to fall apart for me. I was all set to get to know the other kids and never got to even meet them. A very tense scene happens and I'm all prepared to be glued to my seat crying and boom.....
.....6 month time jump. I couldn't believe it! Why, oh why?
Sadly, it never recovered for me. I wanted to get to know everyone. I wanted to see their relationship build. I wanted these reasonable adults to continue to act like reasonable adults. I wanted to know if any of their parents are still living. I wanted to continue to enjoy this error free book. However, we don't always get what we want.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2017Another addition to the Trade Me Collection from Hot Tree Publishing, Still You is a relatively short but entertaining m/m romance.
Adam is supporting his best friend Maggie and helping her raise her three children. As a busy ER surgeon on the night shift this leaves him with little spare time to hook up let alone establish a relationship with a man. Then Maggie hires a new landscaper to sort out her yard and his life gets an unexpected turnaround.
Eden (EJ) is quickly establishing his landscaping and carpentry business. When he goes to his new client, Maggie’s home, he is shocked by the attraction zinging between him and her ‘husband’ which is a big mistake to take any action on. Or is it?
This was an engaging read with some elements of angst and a soupçon of hot steamy passion. The first half was quite slow on the uptake with lots of assumptions and misunderstandings taking place but after a six month separation things started to gather speed on the romance side.
I liked both characters and although the misunderstandings did have me eye rolling, the build-up of their relationship was lovely to see revealed. I didn’t like the spin on the names though (Eden, Eve and Adam?) and found it bit too twee for my personal liking. I would have liked the second part to have been in more depth and the ending therefore felt a little rushed with a need for an epilogue. Maggie also had three children but we never met two of them. Strange for them not to be included when Adam lived with them.
Overall though I did enjoy this and I am loving this collection of m/m romance. Four stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2018Good romance with a little drama and angst mixed in! Absolutely recommend this book to everyone who loves a good happy ending!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2017Originally I gave this 4 stars, but I was explaining the story to my bestie and couldn't come up with a single flaw besides it was too short, hence the change in rating.
This is my first book by Amy, and I jumped on it because it's part of Hot Tree's Trade Me Collection, I was seriously not disappointed at taking a chance on a new (to me) author.
Landscaper/carpenter Eden aka EJ is taken back when he meets his new clients "husband" and can't get him off his mind.
Little does he know, hunky surgeon Adam, is not the hubby, but the very openly gay best friend who is just as smitten with him.
When Eden's ex-boyfriend shows up and causes some insecurities and leaves Adam with the wrong impression, Eden has to decide if Adam is worth the fight.
Boy do these to have some insane chemistry and an almost insta-love that is actually believable, even with all their misunderstandings, miscommunications, and other commitments, work and family, and being forced apart more often than not, they manage to deliver not only a super sweet Real love story but also some face-fanning hot moments to boot ;)

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2018This is an engaging story with likable characters I wouldn’t mind calling friend. There are some misunderstandings, heartache, and a whole lot of love. This is the first book by this author I have read and it won’t be my last.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, my review has been voluntarily submitted.
