Gray Sin: A Small Town Sheriff Age Gap Romance (The Kingsbrier Legacy) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 88 ratings

—JOE—
I was doing my job as a cop when I rescued Gracyn. But I should have known better than to bring her back to my cabin. Kingsbrier’s princess has a reputation for getting whatever she wants. I’d never considered she’d be interested in someone as old as her father. I wasn’t attracted to a younger woman until that night. Now I’m in bed with the devil, trying to keep my buddies from finding out that she’s everything I ever wanted.

—GRACYN—
Joe was another one of my parents' friends not worth paying attention to until he saves me from myself. It was only supposed to be one sinful night. Now, I tempt fate each time I go back for more. I’ve fallen for a much older man and we’re treading in gray waters. To keep him I’ll have to come clean to my family. But does friendship eclipse love?

Gracyn and Joe’s Small Town Sheriff Age Gap Romance is perfect for romance readers who love an older man in uniform, who follows the rules, falling for a smart and sassy younger woman who breaks them! Gray Sin is a full-length secret lovers romance book with a guaranteed happily ever after that features characters in Jody Kaye’s best selling, southern small town family saga the Kingsbrier Quintuplets and the Kingsbrier Legacy series’.

Joe is a cop. He went to school with B. B is Gracyn’s aunt. Joe just happens to be close to twenty years older than Gracyn. But one rainy day with flooding, he pulled her out of an overly flooded road. Her car was not working due to the water, up to the windows. She couldn’t get home because of it also. Roads were closed. So she stayed at Joe’s house for the night. Well things got carried away and there are many ups and downs.

I loved the story and the characters in this book. My problem with this book was that the author’s writing style was so hard to read. Everything was just so overly wordy that I found myself having to read paragraphs over again because I couldn’t picture what was happening or what she was describing. That being said, the H and h were very likable and I really liked how the played out. It was just hard to read.

This was a great mix of a spicy novel and a love story. I loved that the book bounces back and forth between Joe and Gracyn’s perspective. It’s one of those books you could picture being a really good movie when you read it. This book is also able to be read as a stand alone or in conjunction with the rest of the Kingsbrier series. I highly recommend!

This book was amazing. An emotional roller coaster with a couple unexpected turns. It's not your average love story. While still hot and steamy Gray Sin is also suspenseful, emotional, and full of real life love.

I enjoy Jody’s books about the Kingsbrier family. The matriarch Rose and her husband Ross were parents to quintuplets that all got their own books. This book is about Gracyn, the daughter of one quintuplet and step-daughter of another. Her backstory is very complicated but also beautiful. She’s an amazing character. So strong and independent and willing to fight for those that she loves. In her story she falls for her fathers’ close friend Joe.

Joe is a police officer and quite a bit older than Gracyn. When they see each other for the first time in years, Gracyn decides she wants him and is willing to put in the work to get and keep him. I loved the progression of their relationship. It’s not easy to fall in love with someone who is older. Especially not someone who is best friends with your parents. I liked how Jody addressed these concerns and situations in the book.

This couple is so sweet together. I loved Joe’s character! He falls in love with Gracyn but is prepared to live his life without her if that will fix things so that she will be happy. He was single for years, and his observation was that he was waiting for her to come along he just didn’t know it. Even waiting for her for so long, he would be prepared to walk away if that’s what she needed from him. The ending of their story was wonderful! I hope to see this beautiful couple in other stories about this family.

I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was an okay story but it didn’t really resonate with me. I didn’t feel any connection with the characters and I didn’t really care were the story was going. This one just wasn’t for me.

Joe is a police officer who comes to the aid of woman who is stuck on the side of the road only to find out she is his friend’s daughter Gracyn. Due to the weather he brings her back to his home where the chemistry between them ignites. They agree that this evening is all they would have but can they stick to their agreement?

When Gracyn is rescued by Joe she wasn’t expecting the feelings she would have for him or the fact that she couldn’t stay away. What started out as casual, turned into a friendship and then a relationship but will they be able to overcome all the obstacles that try to force them apart?

Not only are Joe and Gracyn great characters but we get to catch up with all the other characters we know and love. Heat, family and all the feels. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

    Gray Sin by Jody Kaye

Gracyn gets caught in flood waters during a storm. Joe is on his way home and rescues her. Despite having been on the periphery of one another’s lives for years due to mutual friends and family. This is this first time they find themselves thrown together. Alone. For one night.

Overall a great read, with lots to enjoy.
However the descriptive start made it difficult to get past the first few pages and felt the main story line was drawn out with a rushed ending.

For followers of the Kingsbrier Quintuplet series this is a treat to revisit with old friends, though Collette was M.I.A.

This is an honest review of a pre release free copy.
