Second Chance doesn't disappoint fans of the Pam of Babylon series! Suzanne Jenkins is the best when it comes to weaving romance, suspense and mystery into a series that can't be put down.

This book introduces us to a few new players who quickly weave themselves into the intrigue. Some of them win our affections immediately, while others earn our disdain. It takes a great author to create those feelings! Suzanne Jenkins does it time after time, book after book.

And again, just when you think you know what's going to happen, and where the characters are heading, she throws in a plot twist! I wish I could give this book and this series more than five stars. Five stars is not enough for this author!

    Anxiously awaiting Book #16!

I just this minute finished Second Chance and I don't know what to do! I need to know what happened!
This was a great book! I couldn't put it down and read it in record time for me. I loved all the twists and turns that happened and I loved being back with all of the familiar characters I've come to love since the first book.
I don't know if there is going to be a follow up to this last book. But I can see so many possibilities and I really want know what happens next! So all I can do is ask the wonderful Suzanne Jenkins if there will be another chance for us?

I love this series of books and have basically read each one start to finish as soon as I got my hands on it. This one I had to wait until it was available. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in it.

First, it seemed to dwell on a few characters that I think are rather boring, namely, Allison and Gladys's newfound son Dale. I'm not finding Randy all that compelling either.

Second, I know this is fiction, but these characters are always jumping the gun on relationships. Almost every character in this book meets a new love interest & within five seconds is talking marriage. Does that happen in real life? Yes, unfortunately, I did it myself once (not successfully) but is that the norm? All these characters are prone to do it. It certainly is not because they are so moral that they see marriage being the only ethical way to have sex. Most of these folks have hinges on their heels. What I say has been true throughout the whole series, but it seemed particularly ludicrous in this volume. Lisa & Dale? Cara & Paul?

Third, this book seemed a bit disconnected to me.

Pam once again found the life that she feels she's entitled to; I'm just hoping that Randy is not engaged in criminal activity involving getting rid of Sandra in the partnership. Sandra is a character I like, although she has made several bad choices. Was she is involved in the second cliffhanger of the book aside from the drama about the partnership? Did she really just walk away after Jenna fell down the embankment? We shall see!

Having said all this, I can hardly wait until additional volumes in this series.

Life in Babylon continues as Pam and her new husband Randy do some traveling together. Gladys finds the child she gave up as a teenager and he immediately falls for Lisa. Cara is released from jail and has nowhere to live so Dan offers her a position at the family farm. As always, Suzanne delivers a
spectacular story, each subset blends in flawlessly with the main story. Any book by Suzanne Jenkins I will always read. She is one of my favorite authors!

I have read all of the Pam of Babylon books and I was not to pleased with #15. First, there was to much incest in the book. Second, a former son-in-law dating his former mother-in-law. Third, trying to remember who is who with all the characters in the book. The reason that I gave 3 stars is because I loved the story lines between Pam and Gladys.

I just love all the drama everyone has, I live alone I'm disabled and I try to keep from people away so I won't have this drama but I love hearing about the drama ups and downs, especially Pam how sorry Pam everybody relies on her even if they're not related to her they have nothing for one way or another always is there for everyone.

I really liked this latest Pam installment, this series never fails to disappoint even when I want to reach through the pages and slap a character for their choices! This was a "tamer" storyline in general, but rich on development of the stories branching out into Pam's inner and outer circles and finally more of a peaceful and drama-free story for Pam's personal life - for the most part. No spoilers, but Pam gets it (mostly) easy this episode and for that I am glad. She deserves it.

There is no shortage of relationship drama, lies and debauchery though, so if you are a Soap Opera fan like me, you will find plenty of it here along with the introduction of a new character that seems to fit in well with the Smith & Co crew... or does he? And again, no spoilers but I love a good cliffhanger and this one has me itching to see #16 hit my kindle.

Every new book in this series, I go in thinking, there's no way this one can top or keep up with the last one. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The books in this series will hook you from the beginning. You will cringe sometimes, be disgusted, surprised but, I promise you won't be bored. Can't wait for the next book.
