- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2019I had this for awhile, so am not sure where I got it, so to be cautious, I'm thinking I received it free from a promotion in exchange of an honest review.
Suzanne Jenkins hit a home run with this one! It's a love story, a human story, and a woman's fiction. Charlotte finds herself a young widow with her her two children, brought me to tears. Jump to five years later and her children are leaving home, what's to happen to her now? Keep your tissues handy, it's the best I've read! High recommendations for this little number!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2021This stand-alone is easy to follow. Minor formatting errors, no gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama.
This story has a comforting spiritual twist. The author also does an excellent job of dealing with toxic relationships. Believable dialogue and characters with distinct personalities and great banter.
No desire to re-read this story. I am interested in other works by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2020This is a story about Charlotte if widow who finds happiness in the most unlikely place. It also is the story of three friends who go through nursing school and one is nursing jealousy for many years. What she does only makes Charlotte stronger and more determined. Well written good plot and I recommend this book
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2023Charlotte's heart is frozen after she lost her husband Steve 5 years ago. She seems to go through the motions of life with her kids until one day visiting the cemetery she falls and the cemetery caretaker rescues her. This is a such a warm, heartfelt story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2020This is a poignant story about loss and healing. Following the death of her husband, Charlotte has tried to preserve his place in the hearts of the family. After five years her teenage children are ready to move on with life but realize that she is stuck in the past. A chance encounter has Charlotte reflecting on her life and sets off a series of events that cause turmoil and introduce doubt about her marriage.
The characters were very relatable, even Margaret because there are a lot of Margaret’s out there. It was uplifting to see how Charlotte moved from perpetual grief to happiness.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024I have read so many of her books. This one had me hooked——too short! I think Charlotte needs sequels just like Pam!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2017Loved the story of Charlotte and her strong love and loyalty to her husband who has passed on much too young. She does an amazing job trying to keep his memory strong for her two children. But, when she least expects it, love comes along a second time.
Very well written. Suzanne Jenkins is always a joy to read!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2022A classic love story off a doctor and nurse who had two children. Their happiness was brought to an abrupt end when he died of cancer. However, Steve guided her to a new love.
