Whispers of Love Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Each poem tells the story of a secret love. Of feelings that can never be known to the outside world. Of lovers who stay hidden for reasons only they can know.
For some, their love will never be returned and the one they love will never know how painful it is to keep such a secret.
Sometimes their love is beyond their reach, living oceans apart, only touching through a world of words written on a screen.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe and now living in England and working as a carer for the Elderly. A wife and mother of two adult daughters and five wonderful grandchildren. I'm an incurable romantic and love long walks on sandy beaches at sunset. I'm obsessed with the colour purple and a total chocoholic.

Poetry has always been my first love and passion and have been writing poems since the age of ten. My family and friends kept encouraging me to write and publish my first book which is titled, SECOND CHANCES. I'm so glad I achieved this goal and it is by no means my last book either, as I have many more romantic stories to tell, which are often inspired by a poem I have written.

After publishing my first Poetry Anthology, MOMENTS OF LOVE, I went on to publish my second poetry book WHISPERS OF LOVE, and presently working on my third poetry book VISIONS OF LOVE.

Phoenix Rainez captures yet again the feelings of love, whispered in romance or silenced in heartbreak. Does it seem that there is no in-between? We grasp love and cling to it, but if it is torn from our clutches, we are left with sadness and grief. The loss of love is like the loss of life. We will never be the same again without that special person in our life, whom we may never see or touch again with anxious breaths and "Whispers of Love".

The strongly felt emotions in this volume of poetry sings to the heart and captures our souls as we all relate to the sweet tears of joy and the sobs of whispered goodbyes.

I love the poems, "The Sun and the Moon" and "Love's Shadows". The author goes a heartfelt step further with personal Love Quotes and a beautifully written short story, "Love at First Sight".

" I love you, the wind picks up my whisper
carrying it through trees, across the fields
on the wings of a dove, my loves flies to you"

(Quoted with permission by the author)

Rainez has bared her soul to us.

Though not continuous through the entire book, the passages like the excerpt below are more than enough to push my 4.5 feeling to an image wrapped 5.

Phoenix has a distinctive passion I enjoyed chewing in nibbles through many nights, easily letting her short book of love verse sigh me to sleep.

    excerpt -
“I steal through the vaults of gold And sing to the souls in the catacombs My heart lies buried in a thousand places I see through the eyes of unborn souls And have lived a million lifetimes...”

“Whispers of Love" is the first poetry book I read from Phoenix Rainez. Especially when your love is far away, or you feel it is impossible, the strong emotions will capture your soul.
    My favorite is ‘Love’s Shadows’.

I like to read poetry, not only because I respect the emotion that goes into deep thoughts, but because the author's prose is deeply emotional.

Sentimental and forthright, I also loved this collection by Phoenix Rainez because her words speak the truth, as she feels it.

And that, my friends, is what a great collection of poetry does to stir a reader's soul.

Bravo, Ms. Rainez, for a set well done. Five well deserved hugs AKA stars.

I really enjoyed this poetry book!
I felt drawn in to the mood or emotion of the poem and so many lines just took my breath away.
I was moved and transported to a deeply sacred place as I read these poems. I found myself reading
Slower and slower to embrace the poem to dive into what it was saying. I have my favorite poems and will
Be reading this again soon! A beautiful job expressing with emotion, clarity, longing and depth.

This is the second book of poetry from this poetess of love and no less remarkable, sensual, and sensitive than the first. Phoenix Rainez is a master of writing poems with a theme. Whispers of Love is a collection of thoughts and reflections pertaining to the longing and despair of loving someone from afar and yet with the same intensity as those with the good fortunate to experience true love. I adore MILES BETWEEN US and THE SUN AND THE MOON, but my very favorite is the exquisite LOVES SHADOWS.
How fitting that Whispers of Love should be released just in time for Valentine’s day. It truly is a Valentine keepsake to cherish always.

If you're ever looking for words to soothe your soul, the poems in Whispers of Love will do just that and much more. Phoenix Rainez takes us on an emotional journey in this selection of poems and I got the sense that she's felt every single emotion she wrote about. What comes across specifically, is a yearning for a love perhaps just out of reach. Highly recommended!
