If The Unexpected Kiss (Kissed by Fate Book 2) is an example of the quality of her work, I'm sure it will not be the last Ferguson book I read. The pace was frantic, whether it was the adventure or the passionate romance between Dylan and Julie. Ferguson's writing is simple, elegant and incredibly easy to read. I found myself disappointed when the book ended as I wanted to explore more of these characters and the wonderful location. This book, with its darker undertones, is definitely much more than just another pulp romance.The mystery and the intrigue grab readers right from the very beginning and carry us along full-throttle, fully investing in the believable characters. ~there was no stopping, no going back. Not at least until after the mystery was solved, the curtain fell and the happy ending commenced. Crystal Rock was a great little small town with plenty of heart and character. The chemistry with Dylan and Julie was a simmering heat that they dealt with, all while handling every other obstacle life threw in their way. This was an incredible read! I liked that it tied in with the series in which I have already read two books, but this book was another great addition to that series, this book was thrilling, sweet, romantic and had an incredible undeniable connection between our two main characters. In this book we follow Julie, who is returning to her home town. Where she embarks on a journey of love with a man who she loved for as long as could remember yet could never have. And also, a journey of discovery about the disappearance of her mother.     I gave this four stars instead of my usual 5 this time, as I have now read many of her books and overall I enjoy them. I had a few problems with this one, however, as it seemed hastily put together. It had been awhile since I read the first book in this series and I was not able to read this in one sitting; so trying to remember nearly a dozen names immediately made reading it a bit of slow go. (A key of characters at the beginning would have been great!) I also think explicit sex scenes are not necessary and to write three of them just seemed like "filler." My other two complaints were that a convenient victim/witness suddenly appeared at the end and that there were several typos and grammatical errors towards the end. Did the editor not finish reading it? Otherwise, like all her books, this had charming characters and clever story. Karla B.

    I loved reading the book THAT UNEXPECTED KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 2) by Tamara Ferguson. It is a romance book that has both sweet and steamy moments. There is also some suspense and mystery. I love the characters of Julie Thompson and Dylan Nash. Julie is a wonderful special education teacher who is also smart and independent. She has come back to Crystal Rock and is planning to stay. She then sees Dylan. Dylan is an FBI agent that is on a mission to find out who killed his father. He also has always had an attraction/feeling for Julie. What does the future hold for Julie and Dylan? While searching for justice, will Dylan be able to keep Julie safe from harm? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has scenes that are romantic and ones that touched my heart. I grew to care about what happens to Julie and Dylan with each chapter that I read. They had been introduced in book one of the series and I am glad that they got the own story. I also enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that are helpful to Dylan and Julie. Crystal Rock is a place I have fallen in love with. Don’t miss out on a wonderful love story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

    That Unexpected Kiss by Tamara Ferguson is the second book in her Kissed by Fate series and what an amazing book it is! I love the Crystal Rock world that the writer has created and I strongly recommend that you read also the other series that take place in the same ‘universe’. It is so cool how you find out small things that were left unsaid in the other books and you sort of thought that you might know what happened and … it is incredible!
    That Unexpected Kiss is the story of the undercover FBI agent Dylan Nash and Special Ed teacher Julie Thompson. He fell in love with her the first time he met her but Julia did not live in Crystal Rock at the time and had a boyfriend … And so the circle started – when Julia was available then Dylan was with someone else and vice versa and on top of it all, Dylan’s girlfriend was Julia’s best friend Kate. This dance lasts over few years but then the stars get aligned and Julia is back at home to stay and Kate and Dylan … well, you need to read the first book in the Kissed by Fate series to find out why they are not together!
    I loved the chemistry that Dylan and Julia had, the caring, the considerations they took with their family and friends, the baggage they shared and how they worked together to solve their ‘baggage’. Tamara is an amazing writer that creates characters that we fall in love so easily but at the same time they are complex in a way that we find ourselves thinking of the long after we are done with the book and we hope that the next book in the Crystal Rock universe will give us more glimpses into her characters’ lives!
    Read the first book and then sit down and enjoy the second book! Dylan and Julia will steal your heart and so will also their respective parents!

    This novel is the second book in Tamara Ferguson’s Kissed by Fate series. She has created a rich world in Crystal Rock, filled not only with the twists and turns of romance, but also with danger. Can Dylan protect Julia from a vicious predator while solving the mystery of his father’s murder, and the disappearance of her mother?

    Undercover FBI agent Dylan and Special Ed teacher Julia are meant for each other. He fell in love with her the first time they met, but at the time, she was dating someone else … Later, when Julia was free, Dylan was dating her best girlfriend Kate, which brings in the complications of having to stay true to Kate. I just couldn’t wait to find out how the stars would finally realign themselves so that Dylan and Julia would find themselves where they belong, in each other’s arms. “She did what she wanted to do from the moment they’d met: she measured the broadness of Dylan’s shoulders, her palms smoothing over the curves and joints, feeling the hardness of muscle.”

    Both of them are complex, layered characters that lingered in my mind long after the cover was closed.

    That Unexpected Kiss is the second book in the Kissed by Fate series by Tamara Ferguson. I realised soon after starting this story, that I had already read it as part of the Hunks to the Rescue Anthology. I really loved it the first time and can honestly say that it was just as enjoyable the second time around.
    Ms. Ferguson takes us back to picturesque Dragonfly Point and Crystal Rock, where we get to meet our two main characters who have had a little history- an attraction that never seemed to mesh at the right time. But when their fates finally align we discover that FBI Agent Dylan Nash is undercover investigating a trafficking ring, as well as searching for his father’s killer. He is incredibly drawn to Julie Thompson who is a special education teacher. She has recently moved back to town and has her own mystery to solve, as her mother disappeared when she was young and Julie has always wondered what became of her. Will Dylan be able to help solve her mystery, as well as solving his own his investigations? What has fate got in store for these two?
    I loved this wonderful romantic story, it has mystery, suspense, and a little drama. The characters are very endearing and were beautifully crafted and fully developed by Ms. Ferguson. I always love visiting Crystal Rock and Dragonfly Pointe and this story was no exception.
    This is a fast paced, quick, and easy read. The author packed a lot into the book and as expected, has produced an excellent story.
