AlTonya Washington has been an author for over 20 years. Traditional, indie, and scholarly published, she's won the Romance Slam Jam EMMA Award, and is a two-time winner of The Romantic Times Magazine Reviewer's Choice Award.

She's a Librarian and enjoys writing in genres such as Historical, Fantasy Romance, and Interracial Romantic Suspense. Her pen names include Ally Fleming, T. Onyx, and Temple Carver. She's best known for her long-running Ramsey/Tesano multicultural romantic suspense series. In 2024, she started a new Novella series entitled "Not By Blood."

    This book was suprisingly good! I read it in about a day and half, and became so engrossed in the story line that I ended up taking my Kindle to work with me just to continue reading it! The author did a good of building her main characters, making them interesting enough to keep your attention and they were very likable. She also did a good job of keeping the suspense alive until just about the very end (even though at some point most readers will figure out who the real villain is). The rekindled romance between the two main characters did evoke emotions so that you actually felt their desire for each other, it was just a good read. I would be apt to purchase another of her books.

    This was a good romance book. The love scenes were good, not too steamy, you had to use a little imagination. Good, strong characters gave the book depth. Vanessa was a publishing exec and Xavier was a police officer. They were very much in love, but Vanessa feared for Xavier's life and divorced him so she would have no parts of his dangerous career. Is it really better to leave the one you love instead of just enjoying the time you have together? When Vanessa's life is threatened 5 years later, Xavier sets out to protect her and solve the case. I recommend this book to romance novel lovers. Many editing errors, but overall a good book.

    To say true love never dies, it only gets stronger is the epitome of Altonya's wonderful, fast paced, romantic mystery/suspense. Xavier and Vanessa Garrett, loved with a passion, but were as stubborn as the day is long. Being married young, and Vanessa not being able to adjust to being a cop's wife, she starts to feel lonely and decides to divorce Xavier. Xavier, not understanding what went wrong and not wanting to force Vanessa to do anything she doesn't want to do, he grants her a divorce, but not without the price of being bitter over the loss. Five years later, they are brought back together through a tragedy and a threat on Vanessa's life...And the fireworks begin! Heated passion and a love they both felt they could live without resurfaces and causes more than either Xavier or Vanessa bargains for; however the real question is...can they let go of their past fears and bitterness to find a future of happily ever after? The love and chemistry between Xavier and Vanessa truly makes this page turner one you won't want to put down. Kudos to you Altonya Washington as you once again use your brilliant imagination to forge an awesome short story full of love, romance and murder! I highly recommend this eBook and will encourage that if you like Romance full of mystery, murder and mayhem, you will want to read her fantastic Ramsey Series. You will not be disappointed!!!!

    I typically am not a romance novel reader, but I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed the book.
    AlTonya Washington does a great job in finding the perfect balance between suspense, thriller and romance. The book was also fast paced and keeps you guessing as to who is behind all the cold-blooded murders. An overall satisfying read, and the kindle price of $1 can't be beat!

    I really enjoyed this book. I have never read anything by this author before but the romance and suspense were very good. There were a few errors that I had to get past but the book was enjoyable. I read this book in less than 24 hours, couldn't put it down. I will read more books by this author.
