Zelda Drummond proved that it was possible to bounce back from tragedy. She had escaped an abusive relationship and was reinventing herself. The climax of this "self-renewal" took place on the night of a dazzling comeback performance. Zelda had reclaimed her passion and proved that she was ready for anything. Anything, except another relationship.

Kantey Swift was captivated the moment he spotted Zelda on stage. The alluring producer had a well-known appetite for women. Unfortunately, Zelda was tougher than anyone he had ever met. Though she couldn't help but be drawn, Zelda had no desire to encourage the man. She’d spent three years in a living nightmare, and decided a romantic involvement was not in her best interest. Kantey had made a decision as well: Zelda Drummond was far too beautiful to keep herself locked away. Eventually, his sensuous spell had worked its magic.

The "magic” is threatened when Zelda's ex-flame Gary Stewart surfaces with vengeful intentions. He became an unwelcomed fixture; appearing where and when he was least expected. Despite the obstacles, however, the producer and the ballerina develop a powerful union. They would come to rely on every aspect of its strength to overcome the darkness threatening it.

    This is a great love story! It is believable and the main characters deal with the issue of abuse from different perspectives. There is a secondary love story (Kassy & Vicki) in the book, which is good also! I just wished there were more pages dedicated to the forming of their relationship! For the price and the meatiness of the book, it was definitely a bargain!.....I've read almost all of Altonya Washington's books, and I LOVE THEM!!!! Ms. Washington, keep doing what you do with the style that you do it with!...I'm anxiously waiting for the next installment of the Tesano family!!!!!

I admired Zelda's strength and Kantey's protective full alpha male personality; together they were explosive. This is a book I would read over and over again.

    This is the first time I've read anything by this author and I was very impressed. At first I felt like to many characters were being thrown around and it was a bit distracting. After the first couple of chapters it got much better. This book had the right amount of sex and romance, very exciting suspenseful parts, low lows and wonderful highs. I was very happy with the end and was glad I came across this title.

    I thought the story was amazing from the beginning to end. The bickering between Kantey and Zelda in the beginning was extremely comical. These 2 had some kind of amazing chemistry, and the love scenes were off the hook. I also like how the story was so complete.     I love a great romance novel and Altonya Washington delivered with a happy ending. Zelda had a dream but her abusive ex took that away from her. With new strength and determination Zela starts a new life in a new city and fine true love with Kantey's. I have read many books by this author and her style of writing will leave you breathless and wanting more. Great job!

    I've read so many of these type of books that to be honest it's getting a little old ....I love reading novels where the hero or heroine overcome great tragedies and challenges .....that being said the important aspect of that triumph is HEALING and restoration...well that didn't happen for me here ...
    Zelda didn't heal she just became colder , uncompromising and quite frankly annoying ..lucky for her she found a doormat that welcomed that mess....

    Why should the guy who abused you get , the softer , trusting and loving you and the nice guy is left to deal with a very angry and bitter woman......there was no exhaling here ...it started hard and ended the Same......Kantey ..Good Luck...
