Review

"[The] personalities are strong, making the author's task of bringing them together a daunting one. But Washington tackles the challenge easily and with finesse. There's great tension and maturation of the characters." - RT Book Reviews on The Doctor's Private Visit (4.5 stars)

THIS BOOK HAD IT ALL ALPHA MALE WITH STRONG FEMALE THAT HAD A WEAKNESS FOR HER BEST FRIEND. HOT LOVE SCENES AND ENOUGH ROMANCE TO MAKE YOU SIGH AND WANT A LITTLE MORE,BUYING THIS BOOK REMINDS YOU THAT WHAT YOU MIGHT BE LOOKING FOR COULD BE TALKING TO YOU EVERYDAY AND THE BEST LOVES OF YOUR LIFE ALWAYS COME WITH THE TITLE "FRIEND" FIRST. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ALL ALTONYA WASHINGTON FANS WITHOUT A DOUBT SHE CAN DO NO WRONG.

I didn't write a review on this right a way, because I needed to allow it to simmer. I thought the story was good. I loved Mateo and felt he and Temple made a good couple, however something was off in this story. I felt Mateo and his feeling for Temple, but there was a misfire for me with Temple. I liked her, but didn't quite feel her. You won't be disappointed it is a really good story, however although I can't put my finger on exactly what was missing, there was something slightly off in their chemistry that kept this from being a great story.

I can certainly say this is the first time I've been disappointed in an AlTonya book. It doesn't live up to its title, in fact it was a very painstaking read. The characters heat and true passion never really came through in the story line. The their relationship and hot desire for each other was one side for way to long in the story. Their first kiss felt hurried and did nothing to convince the reader these two were destined to be together. I found myself routing for and 1/2 way expecting another leading man to come and sweep her away. Material should have picked up on her feelings for him or at least expected it. For such a saive, and suave ladies man he sure missed the boat on this one, even in the end he still seemed completely confused and way out of his element. She should have been the boss and he should have been working for her.

It started slow so it took a while for me to get into it. But once I did, I didn't want to stop reading. While the storyline was predictable, I still found myself enthralled by what's coming next
