AlTonya Washington is a South Carolina native and 1994 graduate of Winston Salem State University in North Carolina. Her first contemporary novel, "Remember Love" BET/Arabesque 2003, was nominated by Romantic Times as Best 1st Multicultural Romance. Her novel "Finding Love Again" won the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Multicultural Romance 2004. Her fourth novel "Love Scheme" was nominated as Favorite Steamy Novel for the prestigious EMMA Award of Romance Slam Jam. She presently resides in North Carolina where she works as a Senior Library Assistant.

AlTonya Washington has been an author for over 20 years. Traditional, indie, and scholarly published, she's won the Romance Slam Jam EMMA Award, and is a two-time winner of The Romantic Times Magazine Reviewer's Choice Award.

She's a Librarian and enjoys writing in genres such as Historical, Fantasy Romance, and Interracial Romantic Suspense. Her pen names include Ally Fleming, T. Onyx, and Temple Carver. She's best known for her long-running Ramsey/Tesano multicultural romantic suspense series. In 2024, she started a new Novella series entitled "Not By Blood."

    I could read this story over and over! Mick and Quest has always been my favorite. Mick is a little hellion and will stop at nothing to find out what she wants to find out. Quest is truly the man who loves hard and will protect all especially his wife from all harm. I am so happy that we were able to see that in spite of them having such a loving marriage, that they too had a deal with a crisis that could have very well destroyed their ability to trust one another and keep the communication between them. As always, this was a good way to tie in all of the other Ramsey stories. I can't wait to hear about the cousins!!!

    Mick and Quest continue their story in this drama. They are married with a child now but Mick's past comes out and Quest doesn't want her to know just how bad her mother really was.

    In the beginning Mick sees a side of her husband that she's never seen before, how he operates at work opens her eyes.

    Mick finishes the book about Quest's jacked up family even though he told her not too. When the book is accidently delivered and he gets one of the first copies he goes ballistic, destroys a part of their home. He refuses to talk to his wife, giving her the silent treatment. He fights his desire for her with her disobeying him. He wants to punish her but he also can't live without her.

    Quest thinks he is running the show but Mick brings him down a notch in this book. He makes decisions for Mick but he doesn't include her in the decision making. He does what he does best, take control, but Mick isn't one to be controlled. She's a survivor and fighter. When Quest makes a decision without her about her life it causes them to separate and leaves you wondering how they will make it work.

    Throughout the book their are passionate love scenes and the chemistry between the two doesn't disappoint.
