About the Author

AlTonya Washington has been a published romance novelist for 6 years. Her novel Finding Love Again won the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Multicultural Romance 2004. In July 2008, the South Carolina native released her twelfth novel A Lover's Worth. August 2009 marked the release of her thirteenth and fourteenth novels: Rival's Desire and Passion's Furies. In addition to teaching a community college course entitled Writing the Romance Novel she works as a Senior Library Assistant and resides in North Carolina. AlTonya will release her fifteenth novel Hudson's Crossing in March 2009. In March 2009, AlTonya- writing as T. Onyx- released an electronic version of her debut erotica title Truth In Sensuality. In August 2009 she will release her debut audio title Another Love and the final installment in her Ramsey series A Lover's Soul. Her latest release with the Harlequin/Kimani label is the July 2010 release "As Good As The First Time."

AlTonya Washington has been an author for over 20 years. Traditional, indie, and scholarly published, she's won the Romance Slam Jam EMMA Award, and is a two-time winner of The Romantic Times Magazine Reviewer's Choice Award.

She's a Librarian and enjoys writing in genres such as Historical, Fantasy Romance, and Interracial Romantic Suspense. Her pen names include Ally Fleming, T. Onyx, and Temple Carver. She's best known for her long-running Ramsey/Tesano multicultural romantic suspense series. In 2024, she started a new Novella series entitled "Not By Blood."

    Loved it..Loved it.. loved it.. The main characters were a joy to read and yet it feels as if the story has just begun when it ended!! I know the situation will continue in forthcoming novels and I can't wait to buy them

    Reading the plight of mixed race couples was a true reflection of the prejudice and assumptions made about black women by some white males and society as a whole and this is historic. This aspect of the book was told with honesty and clarify and the resolution between the two in this matter was dealt with via sensuality and recognising that prejudice will always be there but it is how one deals with it that matters.

    I live in England and so it was lovely to read phrases i can so relate to as well as the novel being based in Scotland.

    It is also delightful reading about the development of other characters from previous novels laced into the trials of tribulations of Darby and Ellis.

    Again Altonya proves that Love conquers all....

    I'm such a fan of Altonya and I will continue to support in purchasing your novels forever and a day...
