- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2011Soul's Desire is actually a novella, so it's really short. It was really good! I liked it very much! It was kinda confused for a few pages because the main character and her children's "uncle" (thats all it says for a moment) have some "deep" feelings for each other and i was like, "Hold on! I know that ain't her blood brother, is it!?!?!?" It wasn't, so don't think that. I wish it could ahve been longer and went into more depth with the characters and their pasts, emotions, trama, and other things like that. I would definitely recommend this as a read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2011It was a good story, but definitely a tease! I was so looking forward to an actual book and not a short story...not worth my $1.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2010Draws you in and then leaves you hanging. I thought that I might have downloaded a sample and was totally disappointed when I realized this is a sorry excuse for a short story. Great beginning..... then NOTHING!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2011first of all, i didn't know it was a short story. I was all ready to curl up and get into the book and it was over. What happened??? Checked my kindle twice. That was it !!! had all the makings of a good book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2010I thought the teaser to read the book was short, well that had nothing on the actually short story!
I was sitting here bewildered wondering where the rest of the book was.
I have read longer samples than this short story. I am very disappointed, it has made me want my money back.
Great story, but should have a whole lot more pages.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2010This book was entirely tooooo short. Eventhough the other reviews state the book is short, I did not get an accurate understanding of HOW SHORT until I ordered it. I've truly enjoyed other books from Ms. Washington and look forward to reading LONGER pieces from her in the future.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2011I was so into this book then it was over. I thought that I had skipped something so I went back to the beginning and scrolled through it only to find out that it was the end. I searched for the full story or sequels. No such luck. AlTonya, your fans are waiting.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2011I absolutely love Altonya Washington's work...that was until she left me hanging with this...this..preview)????. I became interested after reading the sample, then downloaded the book ...I thought...(totally surprised at the cost)...anyway, I got to the end... and felt so very certain there had to be a mistake of some kind; that I called amazon, explained what happened and they downloaded the book for me again. No way! thought could this book just STOP...but it did. Disappointing doesn't even describe how it made me feel.
If this was some sort of field test to see if the story idea is bookworthy, trust me it definitely is.
Hopefully, the full story will come out some time in the near future (Real soon). In the meantime...it was only a dollar.
