About the Author

AlTonya Washington has been a published romance novelist for 6 years. Her novel Finding Love Again won the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award for Best Multicultural Romance 2004. In July 2008, the South Carolina native released her twelfth novel A Lover's Worth. August 2009 marked the release of her thirteenth and fourteenth novels: Rival's Desire and Passion's Furies. In addition to teaching a community college course entitled Writing the Romance Novel she works as a Senior Library Assistant and resides in North Carolina. AlTonya will release her fifteenth novel Hudson's Crossing in March 2009. In March 2009, AlTonya- writing as T. Onyx- released an electronic version of her debut erotica title Truth In Sensuality. In August 2009 she will release her debut audio title Another Love and the final installment in her Ramsey series A Lover's Soul. Her latest release with the Harlequin/Kimani label is the January 2010 release "The Doctor's Private Visit"

AlTonya Washington has been an author for over 20 years. Traditional, indie, and scholarly published, she's won the Romance Slam Jam EMMA Award, and is a two-time winner of The Romantic Times Magazine Reviewer's Choice Award.

She's a Librarian and enjoys writing in genres such as Historical, Fantasy Romance, and Interracial Romantic Suspense. Her pen names include Ally Fleming, T. Onyx, and Temple Carver. She's best known for her long-running Ramsey/Tesano multicultural romantic suspense series. In 2024, she started a new Novella series entitled "Not By Blood."

    Come on, I waited to read this book because I've read reviews saying this was a book with a cliffhanger. Well I said it probably won't leave me too anxious and I'll deal with waiting for the next part. When it ended I yelled "noooooo". This was one of my favorites by AlTonya, if not my favorite. That is until I see how she gets the deliciously, sexy Huron out of whatever mess he seems to be in. Oh and I can't wait to see what Kam is hiding, I have a feeling it's more shameful to her than it will be upsetting to him. This fantastic, suspenseful and sexy ride Huron and Kam is taking us on, along with all the side characters is too exciting and I can't wait to see what happens next. Lots of sex, secrets, lies, murders, and cover ups, how can you not love this book? Please don't leave me hanging like T. Onyx did with Ravenous (which I LOVED) for so long. PLEASE!!!!!! :)

This series has started out exciting so I know that it will only get better with each installment. You have another winner on your hands Altonya and I thank you!     I enjoyed reading Layers. From chapter one and until the end, Kamari and Huron was a match made in heaven. It was magic from their first encounter until the last sentence. Huron is a hunk and how could Kamari resist such a ultra male. Kamari felt at first that she should not become involved with him, but the chemistry and the sexual energy flowing between them could not be dismissed. I will read this again. Thanks AlTonya.

    This was not a good book. One day they met and the next day he was selling his companies out of love for her. Keep in mind this man suppose to be a savvy business man. She gave no indication she was in love with him. I did not feel the love between them because it felt she skipped over or left out a section of the book. She should have given us more secrets in this book to make me want to read and buy the follow up.
