- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2013Parrish and Dee are high school sweethearts that stopped dating after high school because of Parrish's inability to control his temper. They loved each other and still do. They see each other ten plus years later and soon come to grips with the fact they miss and still desire each other.
Parrish is a lawyer and works in Chicago. Dee is a reporter and works in New York. They reconnect after Parrish takes on a case in New York. Their families are close and it's hard for the soon to be married Dee to escape seeing Parrish and he doesn't want her to. Dee is confused about her feelings for Parrish and her super nice soon to be husband. She's forced to make a decision and they make a couple of bad ones themselves.
Throughout the book Parrish fights to control the one thing that separated him and Dee in the first place, his temper. Dee makes decisions that could jeopardize her future with Parrish. Her actions at times are baffling when it comes to other men. His inability to listen and control his response to possibly losing Dee bites him in the butt several times. It's a struggle for this couple to make it. Both are hot heads and so much alike. The book is worth reading because of the many issues they bring upon themselves because they failed to listen and communicate with each other.
Pros:
Parrish is an alpha male.
Drama and lots of it between these two.
Lots of romance.
Story is believable.
Cons:
Dee and Parrish are too hard headed at times .
Her decision making with other men was a little irritating. She provoked Parrish at times.
Rushed ending. I was thinking part two but the ending was put in the last few pages. It felt rushed. The drama of their love probably helped with that.
Some unanswered questions about their past, Mark, and her ex. Didn't see the closure there. It needed a few more pages to feel that.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2013This book had to be one of AlTonya's earlier works. I know there's a formula romance writers seem to adhere to, but it like all other things evolve. This book contained an immature, selfish indecisive heroine. Her immaturity really takes away from what could have been a decent read.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2013Girl, I'm grateful that you advised your readers that this was. your first novel. It certainly wasn't what I expected from you. You've come a long way and I'm very proud of you. I wish you would rewrite this story as the characters were both interesting and their "pigheadness" over such a long period of time was unpredicted. Of course, I'd have to give the rewrite a generous 5 rating because I'm a huge fan and I know you have the talent!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2013I truly enjoyed this story and the challenges its' main characters had to deal as l with, in an effort to keep moving forward in their relationship. Any one who has ever had the pleasure of being in a powder keg relationship knows it's not easy to fix and when you think you have it all worked out, something else comes along a throws it out of whack. . The key is to aways communicate with one another and work through them together. Happy reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2013Another Fantastic Read! Romance, Mystery, Suspense, Drama and Love all wrapped up in the pages of this book. Loved It!
