Receiving a mysterious package with directions to journey to an island half way around the world should have raised suspicion as well as caution for Persephone James. While caution and a fair amount of suspicion were definitely heightened, what stirred most was her curiosity. Having lived sixteen years as the only child to two loving parents, Persephone felt her world turned inside out at the discovery that she had a sister somewhere in the world- one her parents never mentioned. With no thought of consequence or danger only discovery, Persephone followed the instructions inside the package and found herself in a place that should’ve only existed in an adventure story…or horror novel.
Black Island; for all its beauty and luxury was a far cry from the wonderland its residents arrived hoping to find. Populated almost exclusively by young adults the place was as strange and fascinating as it was dangerous and depraved.
Not all was bleak and unsettling however. Persephone made friends she would never forget and met a sister she all too soon wished she’d never met. What’s more, she met the one who would stir emotions that her wildest imaginings couldn’t conjure. There was no description for Hilliam Tesano-at least not one that would do him justice. Persephone was riveted not only by his looks but by the demeanor that could intimidate as easily as it could intrigue.
Darkly gorgeous with an army at his command, Hill Tesano knew all too well that Black Island was not a place for the faint of heart. It was a place where friends disappeared in the dead of night-a place where ulterior motives were commonplace. Nothing was as it appeared. It was a place that could all too easily swallow an uncommon beauty like Persephone James. She had no place there, but he wanted to keep her just the same.

    I have been waiting like a junky for Hilliam & Persephone's story and right now I am yearning for A Lover's Return's release ASAP. You can't help but fall in love with the way Hill & Sef love each other. As we all know from the other books, Hill is a tough and ruthless man who doesn't trust anyone yet he's so soft and gentle when it comes to Sef. They will do ANYTHING for each other. I love the way Hill is so protective of Sef. As always with Ms. Washington a captivating plot and story line, I couldn't put the book down. There are a lot of answers about Hill's past giving us a deeper understanding of him and how he thinks. I cannot wait for Hill to be showered with the unconditional love that he deserves from Sef and their precious girls. AlTonya I need A Lover's Return STAT!

    Review: Black Island is the latest novella by Altonya Washington. In this installment we get more background on Hill Tesano and Persephone James love story. As in previous books we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Hill & Persephone pop up at different time throughout the Tesano / Ramsey books. Hill and Persephone take center stage and some of your questions will be answer and of course you will have more once you reach the end.
    As the only child who has been shelter while growing up and at the age of sixteen she convince her parent to let her spend some time with her cousin all the time planning her trip. Persephone received a mysterious package in the mail with directions to this island; imagine her surprise when she got there.

    There are a lot of twist and turn in this book, once Hill sees Persephone he knows she is the one but he also knows that she is young and off limited, but the attraction between can be denied and eventually they give into their passion. Ms. Washington did an outstanding job and always you get answers but once you get to the end you have more questions.

    Look out for A Lover’s Return that will be the last in the Ramsey/Tesano Saga where everything will come FULL CIRCLE FOR THIS FAMILY………………I highly recommend.

    Loved these two characters but I just wish she would of gave more insight into there relationship. Book was way to short for such good chatcters. And I don't like the fact that Perry was so gullable to her sister and kept leaving her man cause of her. Also I don't like that she jump so many years in between them seeing her. And that her father died. I just need a redo of this book cause it was not worth my $4.

    I am so hooked, that I was wanting more. Glad to know there was genuine love there,although Hill tried to avoid it, because he felt he wasn't worthy of anyone's love. When he meets his children that love will overflow and getting back with his family will be amazing and he can give Persephone the love they both deserve. Eva and Maeva I hope they get what's coming to them. After reading a LOVER'S Control, Eva may have bit off more than she can true. Can't wait for A Lover's Return.
