She can’t forget the past. He can’t face the future. Until fate intervenes one night.

Many years ago, Ivonne Wimpleton loved Chancy Faulkenhurst and hoped to marry him. Then one day, without any explanation, he sailed to India. Now, after five unsuccessful Seasons and a riding accident that left her with a slight limp, her only suitors are fortune-hunters and degenerates. Just as Ivy’s resigned herself to spinsterhood, Chance unexpectedly returns.

Upon returning to England, Chance is disillusioned, disfigured, and emotionally scarred, but his love for Ivy remains strong. However, he’s failed to acquire the fortune he sought in order to earn permission to marry her. When he discovers Ivy’s being forced to wed to prevent a scandalous secret from being revealed, he's determined to make her his bride.

Except, believing Chance made no effort to contact her all those years, Ivy’s furious with him. What’s more, in his absence, his father arranged a profitable marriage for Chance. As he battles his own inner demons, he must convince Ivy to risk loving him again. But will their parents’ interference jeopardize Chance and Ivy’s happiness once more?

From the Author

Dearest Reader!

Sometimes when an author is writing one book, the characters in a specific scene haunt her until they get their own story.

That's how A BRIDE FOR A ROGUE came to be.

I briefly mentioned Chance in TRIUMPH AND TREASURE, Highland Heather Romancing a Scot: Castle Brides, Book Four,
and Ivonne is mentioned in A KISS FOR A ROGUE.I wanted to write their story and have the Wimpleton Ball be the setting.

A BRIDE FOR A ROGUE
is a sweet Regency that reunites lovers and offers a chuckle or two as well.

xoxo
Collette

Falcon and Ivy have loved each other from afar since she was fifteen. Of course, neither of them knew of the other’s feelings. It has been six years since they saw each other. Attending a ball at the Wimpleton home, he rescues Ivy from a nasty and persistent suitor. He finally puts him off by telling him that Ivy is betrothed to another. Perturbed and suspicious, Kirkpatrick spreads the gossip until it comes to the attention of the Regent. Now Ivy, or her father, has to find a suitor to become the groom. The only man Ivy wants is Falcon. The only woman Falcon wants is Ivy. Now, if they could just acknowledge their feelings, the problem might be easily solved. Not that easy.

This is a sweet heartwarming story. There is little angst and no misunderstandings that couldn’t be easily explained. Falcon and Ivy had a wonderful chemistry. There is some uncertainty about the results of past injuries for both of them. I liked the secondary characters, except the villain Kirkpatrick (not much there to like). The story is perfectly paced, and there are some wonderful surprises at the end, including a delightful proposal for marriage. Bride of Falcon is a pleasant read. I highly recommend it.

Bride of Falcon by Collette Cameron is a great read. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for the historical romance fan with limited time for reading. Ms Cameron has given us a well-written story and filled it with amazing characters. Falcon and Ivonne's story is packed with drama, humor and spice. I enjoyed reading Bride of Falcon and look forward to my next book by Collette Cameron. Bride of Falcon is book 2 of the Waltz with a Rogue Novella Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Can only rate as good there seem too many loose pieces. What happen to the stink man? A real reason given for why he felt he could act as he diid would have been nice. The ladies in the restroom purpose could have been better explain although the I feel this most likely will be focus of a new book.

What a treasure! I am surprised I enjoyed this Novella so much because I usually ejoyed some spice in my romance novels. I didn't realize until I was at the end, that I didn't miss it. Why you may ask? It is because the author made me care for our H/h in just a few words.

I truly thought this was going to be one of those long drawn out miscommunication's that go on forever, but oh no, everything was wrapped up into a beautiful bow. Yes, did somethings happen very fast, but this is a novella, it has too.

I am not going into the premise of the story, as it has been told, but I love the style of this writer. I signed up for her newsletter ages ago, and would encourage you to do the same.

There isn't a cliffhanger, we do get an epilogue, love, HEA, and just a darn good story. (ljb)

Ivonne Wimpleton also known as Ivy is a 22 year old shy young lady who is trying to escape the unwelcome attention of a disgusting randy seacaptain. He wants to marry Ivy for her dowry and for her to -become stepmother to his 5 rowdy misbehaving sons. She runs away to hide and encounters Chance Faulkington whom she hasn't seen since she was 15. Falcon - as Ivy calls Chance has been in India for years-a lieutenant in the army. He has finally returned after suffering some terrible battle scars. Ivy has been in love with Falcon for years. The sea captain sees them together and starts trouble saying he is engaged to Ivy which Falcon and Ivy deny. More trouble occurs and the Prince Regent tells Ivy's parents to produce Ivy's intended within 2 weeks and have them married within 2 months. And this sends everyone into a dither. I totally enjoyed Bride of Falcon by Collette Cameron. Chance “Falcon” Faulkenhurst has returned from India a different man. Ivonne has been in love with Chance for many years and can’t understand why he left so suddenly six years ago. Now that he is back, she realizes that she is still in love with him and must make him see that he is worthy and whole in her eyes.

This was a great, quick read with flawed and believable characters. It has humor and heartache, along with a great romance. This is a quick and easy read with a perfect HEA. Another 5-star story from Collette Cameron with one of my favorite endings so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Delightful Read.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 8, 2017
It’s 1818 post-Waterloo, and Ivonne Wimpleton is not in the least enamoured by a would-be suitor, thus the scene is set for conflict, and dreadful anguish for her part. Whilst living in fear compromise against her will seems inevitable, Ivonne despairs her fate, despairs the logic of her parents and others for inviting a specific dastardly fellow to social gatherings. Likewise others feel obliged to attend, and amidst their number is one, such as she, who cannot bear his heart on his sleeve as he might have if circumstances were different. With the fates seemingly stacked against both, can one moment of honest confession aide each other in finding the happiness they wish could be theirs? And of course, the path to true love is often plagued with inner walls to scale and burning hoops to leap through, and no guarantee of success even when Lady Fate smiles and bestows the wherewithal to set things right for a loved one. This is a delightful sweet tale of romance in the face of all the odds of Sod’s Law stacked against a happy outcome.

5.0 out of 5 stars How not to evade suitors
Reviewed in Australia on September 27, 2015
I really enjoyed this book's balance of humour and heart. It starts with Ivonne being pursued around the garden by a horrible Captain who won't take no for an answer. As she is trying to repel this over ardent suitor, her long lost family friend Falcon appears after six years away. To help out he lies and tells the Captain that Ivonne is engaged.

To complicate matters Ivonne has adored Falcon since she was 15. The problem is that he is now engaged to somebody else.

Both leads have injuries they have to live with which adds interest to the story. I'm finding it hard to describe why I rated this five stars when I rated other best sellers much lower. I think it's because this story entertains, tugs the heartstrings and it just flows really well. The lead characters were likeable and the secondary ones were believable.

I have the concentration span of a blow fly so a book like this that keeps me hanging in there without losing interest gets my vote. I will be looking for more from this author.

For those wanting a smut rating, there is some heavy petting but no explicit sexual scenes.

I liked the characters in this novella - the story is so short but has all the drama, is well thought out, and is believable. I would buy another novella from the series because the characters are interesting enough that you wonder what their story will be.
