Moose's Regret: Motorcycle Club Romance (Haven MC Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 231 ratings

Linc Harris found a home at Haven MC, one that came with men whom he was honored to call his brothers. The club has suffered from some internal issues, and it is time to put them to rest and set Haven on a new path. But in doing so, Moose’s past, one he thought he had neatly tucked away, is brought front and center. It isn’t one he really ever wanted to let go of, it was just one he’d hoped to settle when he was ready.

Kathryn Stevens has reached her dream of becoming a doctor, and she did it even while putting her heart back together. She refuses to allow anyone in who could open those wounds again, so when she is targeted to be used as a pawn, she gets the opportunity to test her resolve. But she is the first to admit that the man who caused her to even implement a resolve—could be the only one she would trust to save her.

Join the men of Haven MC as they prove that not only should you never judge a book by its cover, you shouldn’t judge men for the sole fact they ride Harleys and wear leathers.

Carson Mackenzie enjoys writing romance with a real feel inside the stories. She writes with the belief, not every man is a jerk, and not every woman needs saving.

Carson lives in the South with her son, a Great Dane, and two adopted shelter dogs that keep the household in line. Books have always been a part of her life. There is nothing better to her than curling up and relaxing with a good story and losing herself in someone else’s world for a few hours.

Writing stories and growing as an author with each book is her goal. She wants to reach the level where a reader knows when they see her name on a cover, they can trust in the fact there will be a good story as they flip through the pages.

Carson’s journey into writing has only been for a few years. As she’s finally starting to settle in, she can’t believe she waited so long to start.

Snatched is a great story. The characters are fun, sexy, storyline was interesting and it had so many laugh out loud moments. Carson does a wonderful job keeping this story interesting from beginning to end. I loved the main characters Moose aka Linc is the hero , Kathryn is his lady. The secondary characters held your interest and made me want to learn more about them. Can't wait to read Hawks story , I have a feeling it will be hot and Charlie seems like one feisty character. So if you want to read a good MC romance story with a different look at MC's then take a chance on Snatched by Carson Mackenzie. Happy Reading!!! 📚📚📚

If you are looking for a slightly stronger on the MC aspect romance, Snatched is a great place to start. There is an even amount of MC business and the romance between these childhood sweethearts. Katie has loved Linc forever, too bad he left and never came back. Linc always knew he would come back for Katie and now is the perfect time. He had his reasons for taking off and not coming back. An awful Russian mobster involved in human trafficking has a hold on Katie's dad. Linc knows now is the best time to get his girl back. He is really lucky that she is so understanding, I'm just saying. Even with the backdrop of some seriously bad guys, there are some lighter moments that really make this a fun read. I loved the interactions between the guys, that really showcased their history together and the bonds between them all. I can't wait to dive into Hawk's book next!

Loved Moose and Katie! Took Moose long enough to go back for his girl but I'm so glad that he did!

Carson Mackenzie’s biker books are squarely in my biker book popcorn category. They have some issues, but they are great to snack on. Snatched is the first in the Haven MC series, which is tied to her Black Hawk MC series. Haven MC is where Carly and Sami, the h’s from Crusher and Speed, grew up in. I suggest you read those two first.

When I started reading Snatched, I was confused. I even went back and read Crusher to see if I missed something. It starts with an info-dump flashback to when Moose/Linc met Wild Bill, the Haven MC president, and learns more about club business than any prospective prospect should. Then he’s being released from prison after a 2 year stint he didn’t really serve, it was a set up to ferret out some bad seeds in the club. He was saving the world doing super secret missions in the desert, a club side business that was never really explained. My BS meter was pegged out at this point.

This is a second chance romance, not my favorite trope but it’s okay here. Moose walked away from Katie years before thinking he was doing the right thing… and like all these books, he discovers he wasn’t. I didn’t like that Moose and Katie don’t even see each other until 55%. I do think Katie should have held out for at least a decent grovel, but I guess the book was too short for that.

Moose was your typical alpha bad boy biker and we all know alpha bad boy bikers just do it for me. Katie was a sweet girl who worked hard to make her dream a reality. Her life wasn’t great, but she worked with the hand she’d been dealt and made the best of it that she could.

The plot had good bones to it, but the execution was lacking. There was mainly a lot of telling instead of showing. In fact, it felt like a lot of the “action” was history that was told to us through dialogue making it feel like I came in at the tail end of the story rather than the beginning. The scene where the bad guy is brought down felt rushed and tacked on at the end, which added to my disappointment.

With more issues than I usually see in a Carson Mackenzie book, Snatched is not my favorite but it’s still a decent read. My hope is that now we have the backstory to the Haven MC, future installments will have more real-time action and less reminiscing. I’m interested enough to give the next book a chance because there’s something about Carson’s books that keep me coming back for more.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from The Author.

I was CONFUSED when I started to read this. It was so much so that I thought What the Heck am I reading until I realized that I had dread about these characters before. It hit me like a brick in the head, but it finally made sense to me. This is a spin off from Black Hawk MC. Ok this spin off was a pretty good read after my confusion had tampered down. Moose and Katie started out as friends. The history between these two furthers when Linc/Moose comes back to claim Katie as his own. It progresses with all the fanfare that is typical with a MC book. It was a good read but you probably want to start with reading Black hawks MC to get some of this backstory.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
