Shane Callaghan is the quiet one of the family. He is the lawyer for the Callaghan brood, taking care of their business interests and legal matters. He also happens to be a former navy SEAL ( like the rest of them) and he has a photographic memory. That comes in handy, a lot. He is one of the last two brothers remaining single. Lacie McCain is the local kindergarten teacher. Blonde, quiet, great with kids, with the type of fortitude that only a kindergarten teacher could have.
Lacie is taking night classes, and falls asleep in the class where Shane is a guest lecturer. Shane wakes her up, fascinated by her. They go for coffee and sparks fly.
But Lacie has a jealous neighbor/friend. And is he going to be happy with Lacie dating someone, especially one of the notorious Callaghan brothers?
Shane is portrayed as a sensitive, caring, thoughtful guy, yet still able to hold his own. What he and Lacie go through is heartrending. The book is well written, but, like the others in this series, really light on plot....BUT, I am still giving it 5 stars. Shane was so well written, and loving, and just caring, that this book is well worth it. It is a stand alone, like the rest of the Callaghan books. If you read the rest of the books, some of the family dynamics that are mentioned in this book will be better understood.
