Having Faith: Callaghan Brothers, Book 7 Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,549 ratings

Commendable resolve? Or foolish pride?

Kieran Callaghan has it all. As the sole remaining single male of the Callaghan clan, he is drawing a lot of female attention. Not only is the former SEAL easy on the eyes and the poster boy for BodyWorks, the fitness center he owns/operates, but he is a genuinely nice guy with a white-knight complex.

The only thing he doesn’t have is the one thing he wants most: a croie with whom to share his life.

Faith O’Connell is a young, single mom hoping for a fresh start for her and her teenage son. Life hasn’t been easy, but they’ve managed. Once forced to live off the charity of others, she is determined to make it on her own.

When Kieran shows up on her doorstep, Faith is quite sure she’s met the perfect man. He might just be the best friend she’s ever had, and her son adores him. But they come from two vastly different worlds, and Faith knows it can’t be anything more. She’s already been down that road once, and has the scars to prove it.

Kieran doesn’t care about any of that. Faith is his. And he will do anything to convince her that when you find your croie, nothing else matters.

Faith's pride is a formidable thing, and she refuses to be anyone's cause, even if she is falling in love with him.

Aiden Snow once again did a great job narrating the audiobook.-- "Kindles & Wine Book Blog"

From the Author

The Callaghan Brothers
is a series, but I hold to my promise: no cliffhangers, ever. Each book is a story in itself, and focuses on a different Callaghan brother. You don't need to read book 1 to read book 2. The books are in chronological order, though (i.e., book 2 happens after book 1), so there are references in later releases to things that occurred in earlier books.

The Callaghan Brothers Series, in order:

    • Dangerous Secrets (Jake)
    • First and Only (Ian)
    • House Calls (Michael)
    • Seeking Vengeance (Sean)
    • Guardian Angel (Kane)
    • Beyond Affection (Shane)
    • Having Faith (Kieran)
    • Bottom Line (Aidan)
    • Forever Mine (Jack)
    • Two of a Kind (Spencer)
    • Not Quite Broken (Brian)
    • All Wrong (Nick)
    • Home Team Advantage (Matt - Callaghan Brothers / Long Road Home crossover)

Faith doesn’t trust easily. She has been betrayed repeatedly. She is a young single woman with a teenage son. She feels the connection to Kieran but can’t she trust it?
Kieran really has to work to prove he is there for her. Good story and yes there were tears.

Another swoon-worthy book by Abbie Zanders. Kieran is the youngest of the Callaghan brothers. He wants what his brothers have found. As soon as he sees Faith, he knows she is what he has been missing in his life. The "One". Faith is an independent, hard-working, single mom with an amazing teenage son, Matt. While Kieran is working hard to get Faith to trust him and recognize their connection, her past intrudes into their lives and could disrupt any future between them. Loved the strong sense of family and how it affects the characters. This series is one of the best.

So the last Callaghan brother has found his croie. I have really enjoyed this series and Having Faith was just as good as the rest. Kieran is the youngest of the brother's and runs the gym. At the beginning of the book he is feeling restless and wants to be like his brothers and find his one. Faith is a single mother to a 14 year old boy. She has had it extremely tough bringing up her son. The father denied paternity, her parents disowned her, so pregnant homeless and penniless, she learnt to struggle on her own to provide for her and her son Matthew.

When the couple meet Kieran feels an instant attraction, while Faith finds Kieran appealing, she doesn't think he would ever be interested in someone like her. There were many times throughout this story that the condemnation, shame and pity shown to Faith brought a tear to my eye. Assumptions are made as to why and how a 28 year old woman managed to have a 14 year old son. Was she raped, forced or attacked? To be honest it made me stop and think of the times I have judged similar situations. To read where even the Callaghan women question and judge her made me feel bad. Faith is a strong woman who has learnt to deal with it all. Her driving force is her son's happiness...how can you judge that?

I did feel that the relationship between Kieran and Faith took too long to cement. Faith was a wee bit too stubborn and Kieran a wee bit too patient. We didn't get an intimate scene between the couple till right at the end. Knowing what these boys are capable of...very disappointing. There was one scene where a woman Kieran had previously dated shows up but Kieran is embarrassed by her approach and clearly shuts down her advances. This scene makes Faith have less confidence, which didn't help Kieran's cause.

I loved the dynamics of Faith and Matthew's relationship. He was a very mature boy who loved his Mum and didn't take advantage of or ignore the sacrifices she made for him. We get to see a few of the Callaghan brothers and their wives, but considering this was the last brother, I thought there would be more. No missions were undertaken which was not really surprising to me. None of them want to put themselves in danger, as they have very important loved ones waiting and worrying about them.

Overall, another great installment to the series and I am glad to hear that there will be more.

Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Abbie! This story is about the youngest and last single Callaghan brother - Kieran. Faith and her son, Matt, moved to Pine Ridge for a job at the Celtic Goddess. Kieran had found his croie basically the first week - Faith. Faith found it harder to accept that Kieran was her soul mate. Faith is a very strong and stubborn woman. It took her quite a while to see that Kieran was her heart. Facing her past was difficult for her as she learns the truth about her mother. Once she finally lets go of her past, she finally confesses her love to Kieran. He is finally happy that she sees the truth. So happy they found their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Abbie! I would recommend this book!

I enjoyed reading this book. Kieran and Faith are so cute together. He’s a good influence on her teenage son, Matt. She’s proud to receive help and gun shy about being in a relationship but he does a good job of slowly working his way into their lives. It’s nice seeing him there to support her emotionally. She’s a strong woman raising her son alone on a tight budget.
      An enjoyable read.

I would have given 5 stars but I didn't because of a few editing oversights. I hate it when a good story teller doesn't follow up with good editing. But that's what you get nowadays with self publishing. I love everything about the Irish clan, the Callaghans. The main characters Kieran and Faith are well developed and interesting. The son Matt is also extremely likeable. I will be reading this book again for sure - it is just that enjoyable.

7 books read in a week and I can't wait for number 8. This series has been excellent. Ok so you knew the plot outlines after book 1, but Abbie Zanders made each of the books different enough that I enjoyed every one of them. I'm not sure if she should continue the series now that all 7 brothers are wed, but I still look forward to book 8. I just hope she continues to have the Callaghan brothers & their wives included throughout. I'd miss them if not!

Reviewed in Australia on May 9, 2015
I am confident I am in the vast majority when I say that I have been lusting after Kieran Callaghan from the very beginning of this series. So it should come as no real surprise that when Having Faith finally landed on my Kindle I was gushing like a total fan-girl.

Kieran is the youngest Callaghan and only brother to have not yet found his croie or heart. Biding his time until he eventually meets his soul-mate Kieran spends his days working in both his highly successful gym and also for the family's coverts ops team. Like his brothers before him Kieran indulges in random hook ups but knows they are meaningless, no woman will matter to him until he meets his croie.

Growing tired of waiting for his "one" Kieran starts to worry he will never find her, that is until a beautiful single mother named Faith and her teenage son, Matt enter his life and change it forever. Kieran knows from the very beginning that Faith is destined to be his but will he be able to convince this strong, fiercely independent beauty that she is the other half of his heart and soul?

This book was probably a little softer than the ones before it. Kieran was a total sweetheart the whole way through. He adored Faith and Matt. He was patient, sweet, caring and incredibly protective. Faith for the most part I really enjoyed, but there were a few moments where I was feeling a lot of frustration with the way she was thinking/acting. Nowhere near as frustrating as I found Maggie in her book, but sill enough to have me grinding my teeth a few times.

I really enjoyed the relationship between not only Faith and her son, Matt but also between Matt and Kieran (and the other Callaghan's too). Faith and Matt had spent years struggling and had very little but they loved each other and were thankful for everything they did have. Matt was always present in the story and always included. I really enjoyed that aspect as it gave the story more realism. Too often writers sort of leave the children out of the way and focus on the romance. Yes, this book was full of romance and attraction but the main focus was on building a family environment, and I really liked that.

If I had to find a fault it would simply be the whole "relationship test" aspect that we have all grown accustomed to in the past six books. You know, the one where the Brother and his Croie undergo a "trial by fire" as Kieran so aptly put it. Don't get me wrong, Kieran and Faith weren't without their fair share of drama, its just that knowing this was the final brothers book I was expecting a fairly epic conclusion especially given the dramatic precedents set in the previous books. Unfortunately, the series didn't end with a huge bang but instead a nice sweet flame.

Overall Zanders has managed to create another great book filled with beautiful characters, a sweet and sexy romance as well as a nice little dose of drama to shake things up.

Finishing this book was actually bittersweet, I was happy Kieran finally found his Croie but a little devastated knowing that this was the last Callaghan Brother to read about and lust over.

Thankfully Ms. Zanders has taken pity on us and will be releasing a book about Aiden Harrison in the future so they will not be completely gone from our lives.

If you have not yet read this series, I would recommend doing so immediately. You will not be disappointed!
