Five Minute Man gave a whole new meaning to “psycho-crazy-ex”.

Adam and Holly had both given up on finding love and happily ever after. Convinced that meeting the perfect person was not gonna happen for them, they had stopped looking and settled for somewhat content lives.

Holly, a romance writer, was also a homebody but who wouldn’t be when you can spend your day in your pj’s? She was funny and sassy, strong-willed and independent. Definitely a girl after my own heart.

Adam, a construction and renovations expert with his own company, doesn’t have a lot of time to date. Well, he may have given up on finding love, but his nephew has other ideas for him. He finagles a “chance” meeting with Holly (a patron in the restaurant he works at), whom he thinks would be perfect for Adam. One conversation is all it takes for them to realize what they’ve found.

This sounds like a pretty straight forwards story, right? Wrong. You see, as soon as they start hanging out strange things start to happen to Holly, Adam is accosted by a crazy ex and now the Historical Society is threatening to take Holly’s house!

With quite a lot of suspense, a lot of laughs and sexy hot shenanigans a la Zanders, Five Minute Man was a highly entertaining read. Adam fell off of the bossy-alpha pedestal I had put him on at first because I felt at times he lacked a bit of the true alpha assertiveness, but he was still a hunky piece of sexy manliness and in the end he worked for me. Holly was a really great character and I loved her.

There was one topic that was not handled in the best way, in my opinion, (Sorry, Amazon doesn't have spoilers, go to edgyreviews.com to read full review) I was a bit baffled by Holly’s apparent apathy towards Adam regarding this… I would have been horrified at finding out what happened to him and gone to see him right away.

Five Minute Man starts with a discussion between Holly McTierney and her best friend Liz in an Applebees about finding a guy to give them an orgasm in five minutes. Holly the romance writer is the sceptic and Liz thinks it is just finding the right guy. All of this is overheard by Brandon, the cute college age waiter, who has an uncle just right for one of these two crazy and fun loving women. Brandon went home and told his uncle Adam Grayson about the two women and talked him into coming to eat at Applebees the next Tuesday, which is Liz and Holly's night out together. Brandon seats Adam in the next booth where he listens to the two women discuss the best points of various vibrators.

As he exits, he runs into Holly as she comes around a corner and knocks her down. He finds her cute curvy figure attractive, likes her sense of humor and want to meet her but how? A flat tire by the side of a road leads to coffee and a romance until his crazy ex-girlfriend goes off the deep end to end the relationship between Holly and Adam. The ex ends up arrested after doing so much damage it looks like Adam has lost the one woman for him.

The author did a good job showing the feelings of both main characters, had a good plot with lots of problems to be solved and wrote a great ending, but you will need to read Five Minute Man to find out if Adam fit the description???

First let me say Ms. Zanders has a cute story in Five Minute Man. There's plenty of romance and humor on one hand, and plenty of "crazy ex-GF" drama on the other. There are two reasons I haven't given the book a higher rating.

An occasional typo is understandable in a SP book. But Five Minute Man has quite a few. Missing, misplaced, and repeated words throughout. In two cases an entire sentence is repeated. The sentence is on one page, then repeated a few pages later, as if Ms. Zanders decided to move it, but didn't delete one of them. It was enough to make me stop and back up a couple of times, and no author wants that for her readers.

The other reason I'm not giving a higher rating is, at the risk of sounding like a prude, a heads-up about the explicit sex would have been nice. I found those scenes jarring sometimes, because as I said, this is a cute story, with a lot of humor. I know this is really popular in books these days, but it's just not always necessary. A lot of readers like to use their own imagination, rather than be given details. Lots and lots of details. I also found the language pretty off-putting. It didn't always seem to fit the characters or situation, and again, it was usually unnecessary. Quite a few instances of God's name being tossed around.

I'd encourage Ms. Zanders to get a couple of good, strong beta readers.

Oh, my. I started smiling on the first page and kept smiling through many of the pages thereafter. Moments of fun, of serious, of uncertainty, and some serious time wanting to beat some characters. Friendship and romance, sexy times and family (for better or worse). Some unpredictable times but so very very good. How good? Once I finish with my review I will proceed to purchase the rest of the series.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but you have to look at the context in which it was taken to truly understand its worth. Most are beautiful but some are just mean and spiteful from psychotic people because they want what you have and they can't have. And in cases like that it can ruin a wonderful relationship and keep true sole mate's apart from each other. It is just too bad it took so long for Adam and Holly to reunite and that was after Holly sat sown to write their story as a means to move on. When she was done she realized it was the best story she ever wrote. What does Adam do after he reads a copy of the manuscript she left on his doorstep just before Christmas?

I really enjoyed this book, it was a warm lighthearted read with a touch of darkness. Holly was an awesome character very quirky and sassy yet with a sweet, innocense about her. I also liked the fact that she was a woman not some doe eyed teeny bopper. Adam was a sexy, kind attentive alpha male who knew what he wanted but wasn't sure it existed until he literally crashed into Holly at the diner.

If you like books like Wait with me by Amy Daws then you will love this quirky read.

From start to finish holly and adams story is a great one to read however with Adam past one night stand Eve things get a bit tricky for them and there happy ever after looks like it will never be.

Romance writer holly doesn't believe in love. She don't believe that a man can pleasure a women in 5 minutes much to the disagreement of her best and only friend Liz.

Construction worker Adam sits in the bar he nephew works at un be know to him that he nephew has his sites on setting him up with Liz,

However Adam is a old traditional man and don't like the forward type women that Liz is but takes an interest in holly.

Holly is in a writers block until she bumps in to Adam in the bar.

They start of slow and get to know one another only for after a short time of being together after a bumpy ride dose Eve turn up.
Eve has her eye on Adam after a one night stand she don't do rejection and that is what Adam has done she didn't walk away he did, she will stop at nothing to get what she wants drugging people and setting fires and sending texts and pictures she manages to break Holly and Adam up,

But it is heartbreaking to read to see if holly and Adam can find a way back to each other.

This was a great romance story with no cliffhangers however some things you knew what was going to happen before it happened but I did enjoy reading it
