Ginny Hamilton is turning sixteen and has a fortnight before her cotillion ball at Magnolia Grove Plantation. In that time, she prepares for the return of William Brown, who has been studying to be a doctor. She is determined to enlighten him to the fact that she is all grown up now and hopes for a romance, as she has been smitten with him since she was ten. In the midst of picnics, plantation races, and foxhunting, Ginny and William encounter one adventure – and injury – after another. Two sisters come to visit who vie for William’s attention, resorting to extreme measures in order to do so. Sam Bowen, a cousin of Ginny’s step-father, also comes to visit, with his eyes on plantation life as well as Ginny. A scandal threatens to ruin all of Ginny’s hopes and dreams, and she discovers that she must be bold and stand up for herself in order to redeem her virtue and achieve her dreams.

About the Author

Cheryl R. Lane was born and raised in Tennessee and went to college at East Tennessee State University before marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She started writing as a hobby while in college after purchasing Southern Heritage cookbooks, which were filled with pages of old plantation homes. She wrote more after moving to Virginia Beach and visiting beautifully restored homes in Williamsburg as well as plantations on the James River. She has been working as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years while writing on the side, and finally decided to self-publish her first book, "Wellington Cross", on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing as well as in print through CreateSpace. She has since published the second book in the Wellington Cross series, "Wellington Grove," and will release a novella, "A Wellington Christmas" in September 2014. She is still married to her sweetheart after 25 years and they have one son and a Havanese bichon.

Cheryl R. Lane was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, and went to college at East Tennessee State University before marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She started writing as a hobby when she was in college after purchasing a couple of Southern Heritage cookbooks, which were filled with pages of beautiful old plantation homes. She used to sit outside in her backyard and type on a manual typewriter at a picnic table under tall maple trees.  She continued writing after moving to Virginia Beach and visiting beautifully restored homes in Williamsburg as well as plantations on the James River. Her day job has been working as a medical transcriptionist for 30 years and now as a legal transcriptionist while writing on the side. She finally decided to self-publish her first book in December 2012, and she enjoys the freedom and creativity of self-publishing.  She loves being outside in nature and her hobbies include visiting historical homes and gardens, reading, traveling, and exercising.  She is still married to her sweetheart after 30 years, and they have one son. I read Wellington Cross over the summer in one weekend and thought I found my favorite all time story. That is until I read finished Wellington Grove tonight. Thank the Lord we had a snow storm last night and work was canceled, I was able to read it straight through. It was wonderful.

I begins 6 years after Wellington Cross ends, giving us a look at what life has been like since Ethan and Madeline remarried. William comes home from Medical School and finds that Catherine's daughter, Ginny, is all grown up. It is a story of young love, hate, romance, grief, and greed. I could not put it down.

Cheryl Lane is a rising star of an author. She is an excellent storyteller, who will keep you on the edge of your seat. She is able to pull you into her stories so that you can see the forest and smell the flowers, hear the children playing. There is action and climaxes with many twists and turns. I am look forward to reading many more of Ms. Lane's future works.

I very much enjoyed the first and second book in this wellington cross series. I think the author did a fine job w/both books -good story line; good development of characters and just good story!!! I hope there is a third book so we can see how Ginny and William's life turned out. There is a lot more story to tell here!!!

This book was enjoyable, like a cookie and tea.
Some of the references were overly contrived, like the label on the witch hazel bottle and Ginny reading Little Women. The responses didn't ring culturally true, but overall, it was the kind of book to read late at night...It is a gentle sleep aid, which won't trigger nightmares

I am really enjoying this series (Wellington Cross Series) by Cheryl R Lane! I have fallen in love with the characters from Wellington Grove. Ginny is a girl about to come into society and her parents have plans for her, but heart and desires lead her into another path. I can’t wait to read Wellington Rose, the next book in this series!

I have read this series out of order and could follow easily. I fell in love with William and Ginny in their Christmas novella. While I have book 1 as well my main focus was on this couple and in this book I got to hear their story. I loved the budding relationship with the exception of the continuous trouble from the sisters, Sam and even Ginny's mother. By books end I was done with Josephine and Sam's meddling and the doubts that still infected W&G. But over all it was still a very sweet romance of a young girls infatuation with a slightly older man come true. Enjoy!

William from the first book has his chance at romance with a girl who has had a crush on him since she was a kid. But now she has grown up and he starts to notice her as well. Will she have a chance with the man she loves or will her mother and Jonas insist on her being with Sam. And will Josephine turn his head. This was an entertaining second book to the series.

Couldn't put the book down. Great love story written with descriptions and details that allowed me to envision the characters and the settings in my head. Can't wait to read the next book in the Wellington Cross Series!

Enjoyed the first book. Had a good storyline. This one did not. It is all about Virginia (Ginny) and William. Occasionally Ethan and Madeline make an appearance but overall, no depth. The entire book focuses on their attraction and lust to each other. I cringed whenever they "brushed up against each other" because Ginny experienced extreme arousal. I was also very disappointed in Fanny's story and how it ended. Blech. I don't think I will read another in this series.
