A Wellington Christmas: A Wellington Cross Novella (Wellington Cross Series) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 138 ratings

William and Ginny Brown have been married for six months, and as Christmas approaches, Ginny begins to suspect that she is with child. She tries to deny it, not feeling ready to be a mother just yet. However, after the birth of William's cousin, Ginny begins to change her feelings towards having her own baby. In the meantime, she has lost her wedding ring and frets over what William will think when he finds out. They spend Christmas at their new home, The Forest Plantation, where fears and worries are revealed, and they learn how to rely on each other as their love grows stronger. A snowstorm and an accident make it difficult for the whole family to make it to The Forest on Christmas Day.

Cheryl R. Lane was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, and went to college at East Tennessee State University before marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She started writing as a hobby when she was in college after purchasing a couple of Southern Heritage cookbooks, which were filled with pages of beautiful old plantation homes. She used to sit outside in her backyard and type on a manual typewriter at a picnic table under tall maple trees.  She continued writing after moving to Virginia Beach and visiting beautifully restored homes in Williamsburg as well as plantations on the James River. Her day job has been working as a medical transcriptionist for 30 years and now as a legal transcriptionist while writing on the side. She finally decided to self-publish her first book in December 2012, and she enjoys the freedom and creativity of self-publishing.  She loves being outside in nature and her hobbies include visiting historical homes and gardens, reading, traveling, and exercising.  She is still married to her sweetheart after 30 years, and they have one son. Wellington Christmas love story
Another favorite author that writes the spectacular Wellington series. This book was such a delightful read, except for the end. I was so immersed in it that I did not want it to end and wanted the story to go on. Fortunately, the author assured me that the answers to my questions are in Book 3 of the series. Thank you Cheryl!

What a nice sweet Christmas story! I give it 5 stars because I really loved the book. Yes, it's way short and could be read in an hour or less, but it's suppose to be a short story. After reading this book, I really thought - wow, it would be nice to read novellas all the time. Sometimes life is just so busy and trying to get through a long novel is difficult (especially with little children running around and house to manage). I recommend this to anyone wanting a quick read with good lovable characters.

If you don't look at the freebie list very much you really should. I got this sweet holiday treat when it was on there. It does not contain any drama or violence but focuses on what we all want at the holidays which is spending time with the ones we love. The couple in this book are already married and reading the blog you know they are expecting an addition to their family. Why doesn't Ginny welcome her and William's baby? William is growing into a wonderful doctor and supports her furthering her education to become a nurse. It just seems natural with the love the two share she would want further proof of that love. You will get your answer and find the couple very much in love and cute together. I would rate this PG13. My one complaint was that there was not epilogue to let us see the family come to fruition. I really was hopeing to witness that. The author did such a wonderful job showing the love they shared and working through their personal fears that I was certain we would get to see the baby born. It is still a nice book for the holidays. Enjoy!

Cute story as a stand alone novella but after reading the second Wellington book, came back to read and placed it in order of series. Was a good read.
