About the author

As a child, I was mesmerized by story tellers and my mother always made sure I had a supply of books close at hand while I was growing up. Sitting on her lap and listening to her read to me is one of my earliest memories. I remember drawing pictures and then making up stories to go with them, and as I got older, my stories became longer and more fanciful. At age ten, I began to write them down, and when I was twelve, I wrote my first "book," all handwritten. I wrote during rainy days in gym class when we all had to stay in the locker room and sit on benches. I had a small cult following of friends who waited for me to finish each page which I would then pass down the row. When I got a typewriter for my thirteenth birthday, I typed up my "masterpiece" and put it in a 3-ring binder then hid it away. The story was actually quite silly. Having a typewriter, however, made it possible for me to write even more, which I did on almost a daily basis.
But, as happens to many young, aspiring writers, reality grabbed me and when I graduated from high school and headed to college then into the work force, the dream of becoming an author washed away. It wasn't until I turned 62 and experienced my 3rd job layoff, that I decided to try and make my writing dream come true.
Writing has become an addiction to me, and I'm finding that ideas for other scenarios and characters keep flooding my brain, with the characters screaming, "Write about me! Write about me!"
And, that's what I intend to do.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2024I just reread the entire series and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. I highly recommended reading the entire series
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2017Book VI: Snow on the Mountain was a delightful read as good as all the books in the series. Susan and James are together now in the future but the suspense and romance continue as Susan is kidnapped and the intrigue continues! Susan and James continue with their 'unique' chemistry arguing and wonderfully making up. I cried my eyes out near the end but the wonderful epilogue made up for it! One of my favorite books of the series! Linda S. Rice is a terrific writer who never loses your interest and knows a woman's heart and mind. A terrific book!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2021I liked this book better then the previous. Its a very long and sometimes tedious series that has alot of repititation and makes you tend to skim
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2019What a closure to a thrilling ride! The story moved along well but. I found myself a bit bored with some of the repetitive speech patterns. It could be intentional of the author and is just my opinion.
This series has been an emotional experience and James and Susan's story will live on in my mind for some time.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018Just when you thought they would never be happy, a twist of
fate finally joins them together but there are many trials yet
to endure for this couple, destined to be as one forever; and though
death parts them in this era, they will meet yet again, I’m sure. Wish I
had not been such a fast reader as I am longing for more already!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2017Linda Rice is a very talented writier and has a lot of interesting and good ideas on how to captivate the Book lovers who Love to read, every page you read has lots of twists, But , Making up is so Beautiful indeed , I've never seen a couple who argue so much like James and Susan, but they are very good together I have to admit.. the sad bit is the ending when they go over the rainbow Bridge together, I definitely needed my paper tissues out , I cried so much , because I felt when reading The Snow on the Mountain , I felt I was with James and Susan in the story , going through and watching them from a distance what they were feeling and doing , I was so hooked on every page and when I went to bed I'd think what happens next in the Chapter and hoping of s very nice out come.. until next day I'd get back into The Necklace and see what happens, if you love to read The Necklace by none other, The Famous Author. Linda Rice ..come on and pick up a good book to read, I'm sure you won't be disappointed , I wasn't , I would have given this Book a lot more Stars indeed ..
