Emily and Elias Jessup left their home in southern Texas, tired of living a life of poverty. They soon find out that life is no better alone on their own. Constantly on the run from the law, the two know that their days are numbered before the law catches up to them.

Ellen Holladay comes across a handsome 'farmer' in desperate search of his sister who has been kidnapped. But can a handsome face and winning smile hide the fact that he is obviously lying to her? When his sister, Emily, is found in the arms of bounty hunter, Cade Singleton - Eli's true identity is revealed. Elias willingly turns himself in to Holladay, in an effort to make peace with the woman that has captured his heart. In a strange twist, he suddenly married to her and sworn in as a bounty hunter himself.

Can his new wife see past his previous sins, giving him the chance to start again? Can she accept her new husband and the dangers that being a Lawkeeper can bring? Is falling in love worth the risk … and the greatest reward?

I enjoyed this story that is part of a new series, A Texas Lawkeeper Romance, by a group of talented authors. Each story in the series will read as a stand-alone and can be read in any order. The stories will all feature law enforcement heroes and the women who love them. The stories are sweet, clean based stories where the lawman finds his woman. Each will read as a stand-alone book.

Life isn’t always black and white, and this story is a great example of that truth. Siblings, Elias and Emily Jessup, are on their own after their parents kicked Elias out, Emily left with him. But they were struggling, starving to death, no clothes, no job, and no prospects. What starts out as just a means to survive, becomes one more mark and another theft. Some of their targets weren’t good people, many of the men were braggarts, but stealing is stealing.

Elias would play the town, listening in saloons, playing poker, and find their next big mark and then Emily would lure him in, and Elias would be ready to help himself to the money, and they would ride away on their horses. Even though Emily hated doing it, she played along. But when she warns Elias they need to go, that there was a bounty hunter there, he won’t listen, and it will be their downfall.

The story picks up from Lawfully Yours and is a continuation. Where it mostly focused on Bounty hunter, Cade Singleton, and Emily Jessup, this addition is Bounty hunter Ellen Holladay and Elias Jessup. After Cade took Emily, prisoner, Elias will be trying to track them and help her escape. Hearing a woman, he thinks it might be Emily, but instead, he will meet the barrel of the gun belonging to Holladay. He will spin his tale about his sister and enlist her help in the rescue.

Ellen Holladay was the daughter of a salon worker, but when men started to notice her, she escaped and was attempting to make it on her own, that is until Cade Singleton caught her stealing a rabbit from him. He took her under his care and fed her, teaching her his trade, as had been done for him in the past.

When they arrive at the courthouse, Judge Ryan, will be hearing Emily’s case and sentence her to marriage to Cade Singleton. When Elias tries to come to her defense, the judge decides to issue the same decree to Ellen and Elias, along with making Elias a sworn in bounty hunter and give them a case.

The story has a sweet and romantic side as Elias and Ellie learn more about each other and the things he does for her to put her at ease. He may have committed crimes, stolen from marks, but when it comes down to human decency, he proves himself with Ellie. When they face life and death, they both learn what each other is made of.

“Who would have thought that his wife would brandish a gun and steal his heart? Regret is an awful thing, and I want there to be no regrets for you. Nothing but love, happiness, and peace for us.”

The story ends on a very happy note, and it is a great example that humans make mistakes and with second chances they can make amends and find happiness. Sometimes it is just meeting the right person to help push someone in the right direction.

Loved the story. Of course I have found I love all of Ginny Sterling's books. This author makes you feel like you are living in the story and know the characters personally.

I am currently working my way through the Lawkeepers books and enjoying the stories. I intentionally look for Christian clean novels to read. SO, I was surprised to come across profanity in this one. I hope this was an oversight or mistake and that it'll be corrected in the Kindle formats. I'm only on page 317 so I hope there is not more profanity in the rest of the book. I won't post the profanity because I prefer not to read it OR type it! Please keep these books CLEAN!

This book was a great continuation of Lawfully Yours. You can read them together or individually, I would recommend together because they are both so good. Love how the characters interact and play off each other. Great description and plot. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful follow up to Lawfully Yours, Emily's story. Lawfully Mine is about Elias Jessup and Ellie Holladay. Elias has been charged with theft and murder. Ellie is a bounty hunter who runs across Elias while he is trying to find his sister, but Ellie doesn't know who he is. When Elias gets taken to court, things change and all of a sudden he's a bounty hunter and married to Ellie. He couldn't be happier, but Ellie isn't. She wants nothing to do with him. As they start their new life together and try to find the criminal they have been asked to bring in, they both start to realize how much they love each other and that yes second chances do happen.

I was happy to see that Elias got his own story and how things worked out for him after the Judge made him a bounty hunter and married to Miss Ellie. They both had an attraction to each other from the beginning and the forced marriage was just what they needed. Ms. Sterling did a wonderful job with this book. I recommend this book to others. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest reading Lawfully Yours first.

What fun this story was! I loved the humor in it and the tenderness too! It's a follow up story but you don't have to read the previous story to know what's happening because the author touches on it in the beginning. Elias and Ellie and such a great couple. It didn't start out that way because they are on different sides of the law but there are extenuating circumstances and that makes it all the more fun! I loved their conversations and the way they got to know each other out on the trail! This author really know how to write a fun story that still brings the reader in and keeps them turning the pages to see how it will turn out! I'll definitely be reading more from her!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book but a review was not required. The opinions are my own.

After reading “Lawfully Yours” I wanted to see Elias Jessup with his own story. Well, here it is and even better than I expected. The story contains two incidents from “Lawfully Yours,” but here you see the interactions between Elias and Ellen “Ellie” Holladay, a bounty hunter. Before Ellie learns who Elias really is, there is an attraction between them, and even though Ellie hates being forced to marry Elias, their marriage eventually brings them love and a very happy ending. These two couples—Elias/Ellie and Cade/Emily—are an inspiration with their personalities, courage, strength, and love for each other. I especially like the last chapter, which takes place six years after the beginning of the story. If you like clean, western romances with wonderful characters, this book is for you. I received an advance reader copy of this book, which I have voluntarily reviewed and given my honest opinion.
