Being the sixth novel in the Pseudoverse series, I wanted to at least read the first novel. I am a chronically ill person, so reading is not something that happens every day, nor does writing...consequently, why my FB has gone dead. C'est la vie. I was able to get Cobalt and Crimson under my belt but sorely wish now that I could have read them all first since Onyx was slightly revealed in Chrome, and is my favorite novel for many reasons. - The ascension scene at the end of Onyx will never leave your mind or heart. About the Author

Lightning strikes CG Blade's powerful creativeside on a regular basis. Influenced by a love of the Universal and HammerSci-Fi/Horror films, and the great minds of fiction authors in the 70's, CGBlade's style and technique is a derivative of these classics turnedupside-down. Author, creative writer, engineer, and robot programmer, he is anavid science fiction reader and lover of twisting, ever-turning plots. Takingthe reader down many present cyber roads and mysterious plots, his narrativesrely heavily on past and present scientific historical research and the humancondition. Melding the past with the future, these novels are carefully mixedand stirred with music lyrics, real people, historical fiction, and thepossibilities of artificial intelligence run amok. Fused with satiricalcommentary and the first musical intermissions in novels (Including poetry), hecontinues his fiction writing with Chrome, Indigo, Ash, Amber, and Amaranth. Hecurrently lives in Ohio with his wife Jackie, and their three rambunctious butlovable cats, Mr. Mittens Esq., Jeri Boo, and Bullet.

The final scene in this novel will be forever in my head; Sekret is awith with whom no force, human or God should reckon.

This novel ties in some pieces that would leave you wondering in future novels, so I recommend reading the novels in order. I read Chrome prior to reading this one. It didn't spoil it for me, but it explained a flashback, and the source of Chrome in this novel. It is also necessary in understanding who the true puppet master could be in this Pseudoverse.

Lovers of Ancient Egypt will love this as a stand alone piece. The fact that it is dedicated to the soul of a young lady who appreciated the antiquity of this culture, who is no longer among the living is monumental. It us something I hope an author would do for me, or a daughter should one die so young. The main character is on an archeological dig - She unwittingly upstaged her close-minded pompass professor, and gets herself into a bit of troubleb. Her friend is along for the ride, because that is what REAL best friends do. The villain is truly dispicable, and in true Blade fashion, gets the best of what authors can do to despicable people. Makes me not want to befriend authors...truly. The future world is bleak, as to be expected with the aims of today's society, but there will always be heroes. The heroes CG Blade creates are monster, but the kind of monsters you will WANT in your closet, and under your bed should you live long enough to see this future happen.

The humor and the reference to current automobiles, aeronautics, military, communication, pop culture, and P. K. Dick, author of Blade Runner's original inspiration, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is not for the fain of heart, the blissfully ignorant, or the woefully stupid. When reading Blade's novels, if you don't laugh on every odd dnumbered page, stop to Google a reference on every even paged number, and groan in sarcastic fun every page, you need to improve yourself with better quality reading, quit TV, and stay away from mainstream public for at least one year.

Terra Industries is promoting an archeological dig in Egypt where two students are searching for the sunken ruins of the Scorpion rule. When Jasmine Smith and Stephanie Croston discover the underground treasure rooms and tunnels, they are delighted, but unknown to them the man funding the dig, Wes Stuckert, sends a secret armada of vehicles to retrieve the treasure. Jasmine is restless and goes back into the underground tunnels to look again at what she and Steph have found, only to be met by Stuckert’s killer, Keli Bomani, who drops her into an open pit, her body in pieces. But now the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt are upset and give Jasmine back a life of sorts. She is made the Scorpion Queen, Serket. And Serket has the job of returning the stolen treasure and the dead who have it in their possession.

Meanwhile, in Portland the police are investigating the murder of Stuckert’s wife and chauffeur when more weird murders begin.

This was actually my favorite novel in the pseudoverse so far. It has a nice mixture of mystery and science fiction, but still has the craziness of the first three novels with super women and robots. And it has a better story line and more solid plot. There is also lots of fun and fast action, and highly recommended.

Okay, read Cobalt, Crimson, and Emerald first then come back. Onyx is my personal favorite of the series. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I couldn’t help it. The art was so mesmerizing. Anyway, on to the book. In Onyx you do time jump, but it’s not confusing. This has more of a classic smoky room detective feel and it works so well. The main focus in this one is The Scorpion Queen, the ending will amaze and shock you at the same time.

If you are new to Sci-fi genre then you are in for a treat. Sometimes we just need to jump into another reality to realize things parallel our world in the making. My first book was Strangers in a Strange Land.. But I still stayed out of this genre. Please indulge yourself all the books of this author as he has given us a platform to indulge all the topics of interest in science and spring into the next plausible concepts of imagination.

All of the books by CG Blade are excellent! I don't care for a lot of the new generation of science fiction, but this is written in the style of the old masters. One day we will be watching the movies derived from his books, and what an exciting ride it will be.
