Queen of Diamonds (Aces & Eights Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,097 ratings

Looking for a family she never knew... She finds a love she never expected.

For Kinsey Landon, learning that she has three brothers was the shock of a lifetime. Finding out her brothers are the owners of the biker bar took shock to a whole new level. She goes to Aces & Eights, and deciding against introductions, Kinsey leaves--but not before locking eyes with a man so sexy he could make a saint want to sin. When he shows up at Kinsey's job and invites her to lunch, she sees it as an opportunity to learn about her brothers, not to mention spending time with a handsome man. But there's more than good looks to Rand. A sadness so deep, she's not sure anything can heal him. Not even love.

FBI agent Rand Stevens is outside his comfort zone. Undercover as a hard-living biker who co-owns the bar is testing his acting skills. But pretending he's not attracted to the Gentry brothers' kid sister will earn him an Academy Award...if he could ignore the attraction. The heat between Rand and Kinsey is explosive but Rand doesn't want a relationship. The breakup of his marriage hurt, but the death of his little girl left him broken, and he won't risk heartbreak again. Even though Kinsey makes him feel alive again, he ignores his feelings for her...until the unthinkable happens. Now Rand only has one chance to save Kinsey...before it's too late.

Queen of Diamonds is the fourth and final book in the Aces & Eights series, and while it probably could stand alone, you really, REALLY should read the previous three. Reading the other books will give you a feel for the Gentry family dynamics and make this story even more beautiful than it is on its own. This book has cursing (including f-bombs) and some on-page sex. Neither is over-done but both are there so use your own judgment when reading.

First and foremost, the cover for this book is phenomenal. In the day and age of half-naked male torsos dominating covers for romance novels that feature strong female main characters, it is refreshing to have a female *actually grace the cover* of this one and to have her be fully dressed. It's 2018 and those things are so sadly rare that this cover really stands out to me as unique and wonderful. If you're reading: thank you so much for that, Ms. Owens.

This book is the perfect ending to an amazing series. I read this one with trepidation because I adored the Gentry brothers SO MUCH and I was wondering whether Kinsey would be as likable or as able to carry a book the way her brothers did, but I should have known not to doubt Sandra Owens. Kinsey and Rand were both seriously great characters, and this book consumed my mind from start to finish, leaving me with the worst book-hangover I've had in ages. (How DO you recover from a book that was every single thing you wanted it to be?)

Rand is nothing like the Gentry brothers, but wow was he a great book hero. I loved him from the first heart-breaking reveal about his character (vague to avoid spoilers) and I loved the way that he loved Kinsey, even when he struggled to allow himself to do so. The character growth that he showed from start to finish was fantastic and I loved how he dealt with his demons to bring himself back to life. And then there was Kinsey. I adored Kinsey. She wasn't a bitter or angry person despite the hand in life that she'd been dealt, she was tough as nails and yet also so sweet. I loved the way that she handled meeting and getting to know her brothers and their various wives and off-spring (swoon!) and the way that she dealt with having the three Gentry boys as her incredibly well-meaning but incredibly overprotective brothers.

This book is chock full of amazing scenes that I could wax poetically about for paragraphs about, but I could re-read the two scenes that focus on the first coming together of the Gentry family a hundred times and still find myself crying and swooning over the entire thing. I absolutely loved everything about them.

The Gentry family is a special kind of beautiful, and although the epilogue of the story is literally everything that I could have ever wanted, I am going to miss these siblings and this series so much.

I would highly recommend this book and this entire series to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense series with the most amazing family dynamic, and that has the perfect balance of intrigue, humor, heat, and a whole boatload of heart.

A great final addition to the Aces and Eights series. Over the course of the previous three books it was hinted that the Gentry brothers had another sibling out there. We the readers then found out they had a sister named Kinsey and this is her story. Kinsey goes to the bar previously owned by her brothers looking for them and come face to face with Rand. She finds out her brothers know longer owned the bar and wondered whats next in finding them. Rand is not sure why she's asking for the Gentry brothers and make it his mission to find out why. So stars this entertaining witty novel that has more comic relief than previous books. As with the previous books where they are working a case this one switches away from that and we see the Gentry's more in their family setting. It was wonderful to catch up with the brothers and their families seeing what has happened since the last book and Rand being a perfect addition to being Kinsey love interest. This series had it all adventure, intrigue mystery, comic relief and of course romance. Will miss all this beautiful characters great series by Ms. Owens.

Queen of Diamonds is a delightful finish to a magnificent series by Sandra Owens. Sandra does a wonderful job of tying up all the loose ends of the Gentry family story. While the story is not as suspenseful as the previous novels, there is lots of emotional drama. Once again Sandra Owens has done a great job of balancing romance, heat and drama. Rand and Kinsey captured my heart from the minute I first met them. And Kinsey's interaction with her three overprotective brothers was very amusing!
I hate to say goodbye to the Gentry family. Reading this series has been like participating in a big family reunion, lots of memories shared, love, good food and noisy fun. I will miss them. This is a series you will enjoy reading over and over again! It's available currently on Kindle Unlimited so it makes it affordable to read it often!

Sandra Owens always writes the best romantic books filled with wonderful characters and always a happy ending. This book makes you smile as the other books in this series feature the brothers and their sister shows up in this book and finds family she didn't know she had and a man that falls head over heels in love with her. You also get to see what's happened in the brother's world since they all found their HEA in the previous books. I'm sorry to see this series end, but look forward to reading more books by this talented author!

Kinsey and Rands' story is a wonderful conclusion to a great series.
Rand has been working with, and for, the Gentry brothers, as a fellow FBI agent. When he first sees Kinsey, he doesn't know that she is their long lost sister, coming to find her brothers.
He falls for her hard, even though his inner demons have him trying hard not to. Kinsey falls just as hard for him, but the only way they can build a future together is for Rand to come to terms with his demons. Oh, and he also has to get past three overly protective, domineering Gentry brothers, who are determined to protect their new baby sister..... whether she wants them to or not!
All in all, it's a delightful story of love and family, and a thoroughly enjoyable read.

I’ve greatly enjoyed this series it’s a fun easy read with great characters and well written storylines. So I was a bit bummed that after all the anticipation and build up there wasn’t more, this final book felt a little rushed and underdeveloped. Regardless I enjoyed Kinsey as a character.

This one was a beautiful story. Kinsey and Rand need each other, to cherish, love, and treasure. It is wonderful to see how Kinsey handles Rand's grief and helps him overcome it. And it's heartwarming to see how Rand overcomes his loss to accept his love for Kinsey. He is so understanding and supportive. Their relationship is simply beautiful. Loved this book!

A really good read pity it wasn’t longer. It was a fitting finale to excellent well written series about the Gentry family. Although it can be read independently of the other 3 books would suggest you read the series to get the best from Sandra Owen’s well written and well thought out stories

This final book in the Aces and Eights Series was an enjoyable, sweet and easy read.

And with likable characters in Rand and Kinsey. Along with some great interactions between Kinsey and her three brothers Nate, Court and Alex. I was easily engaged throughout.

However, for me this story did lack suspense and action. Especially compared to the three previous ones. But it was a nice read and I really liked the epilogue, which rounded off the series well.

And I'd happily recommend Queen of Diamonds to others.
