YOU DEAR, SWEET MAN Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 170 ratings

The subway ad is enticing. One might even consider it elegant as well. A beautiful woman, sitting atop a desk in a sparsely decorated office, staring directly at Bobby Fastow, a blue collar worker, on his way to his monotonous yet physically exhausting job. The photograph has an unusual charisma, a spectacular presence. It seemingly leaps off and out of the poster. Bobby Fastow intensely absorbs the information directed at him. BurgerBlast, his favorite fast food restaurant, famous for quick service and reliable, if not artery-choking fare, is announcing a new name and a new direction. But, in the world of advertising, nothing is as it seems. What if the line that separates an advertisement from the real world were erased? What if an image stepped from an ad and beckoned you to follow it back, inviting you to melt into its world. Could you resist? Bobby Fastow couldn't, and his decision turns his world upside down.

You Dear, Sweet Man by Thomas Neviaser is a psychological thriller with a touch of humor. A new advert for a fast food company offers a healthier option, featuring a beautiful model from the adult film world, two computer geeks and lots of special animation effects. This is a special advert that sends a special message to whoever sees it. Bobby is your average man, in an average job, with an average life. He needs something else in his life and he's about to get it. Spotting the ad on his way home from work, Bobby thinks he must be going mad. After all, a woman in an advert can't flirt, can she? The model has her own agenda and it involves finding an ordinary man. Bobby is about to find himself in a fantasy world like no other and his life will never be the same again.

You Dear, Sweet Man by Thomas Neviaser was less psychological thriller, however, and more a combination of fantasy, the paranormal and a hint of comedy. I enjoyed this story, as it had one of the most unique plot lines I have ever read. The characters are a strange mix that work together very well and all of them are developed very well throughout the story. This is a very clever story, with plenty going on to keep a reader hooked and with a nice twist at the end that you won't see coming. Thomas Neviaser writes in a descriptive way, bringing scenes and characters to life with his words. It's a fun story, with parts of it being entirely relatable to everyday life, and it follows a natural course to a natural ending. Great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and look forward to more from this author. FROM AUTHORSDEN.COM READERS:"A very interesting and intriguing story. 'You Dear, Sweet Man' by Thomas Neviaser has a unique twist providing the reader with a little bit of everything. It is whimsical in ways, serious in others, surrounded by wit, a display of convoluted idea's showing the irresistible power of women over men and the folly a man can display under the control of the wiles of a beautiful woman. A gem! Fast-paced, smart, sexy.

Thomas Neviaser's little gem, 'You Dear, Sweet Man', is smart, sexy and an absolute delight. The book is beautifully written with top-notch editing. I hope to read more from this talented and engaging writer.
A smart, original, and well-crafted story
Not only did this book feature a believable dialogue, but I also found the characters to be well-developed and surprisingly down-to-earth. Wonderfully realistic settings made for a really entertaining read. The ending definitely took me by surprise.
Fantasy and surprises come with this little puzzle!
This masterpiece of a scintillating puzzle, has no words wasted and the timing is impeccable. The fantasy is backed by details that come together in the end to leave the reader a thump of impact.
I loved this little story, and would read anything else that comes out of the imagination of the author, he has gained a fan.

You Dear Sweet Man is a book that connects with and keeps you speculating
Life can have all the earmarks of being so average sometimes. We get up approach our timetables rest, eat, drive, work, drive, eat, sleep. The book generally oversees Bobby, an overweight and depleted man with a mindful companion and two young ladies.  Bobby Fastow, the guideline character ends up capitulating to charms and running his own reality with his family. He finds his life depleting. He endeavors to uncover to his significant other that he is missing something yet can't actually figure out what it is. She uncovers to him that by far most feel that way now and then and doesn't show interest in helping the conversation. Thusly, it wasn't hard for Sam, an awesome woman in an ad for a drive-through diner, to beguile him on the metro.  As the story creates, there is exceptional knowledge concerning the time frame and returning you on time. For me, it was a logical examination in how to be controlled when you are endeavoring to control others. There are lies, selling out, degradation all of the makings of an inconceivable book.  This book is such loads of fun! I love that it carries us into the universe of publicizing. I like that the story streamed and held my benefit. In case you are one who likes extraordinary structure, you will esteem this book. Thus, I don't see how there is regardless that you could despise You Dear, Sweet Man. I favored it hugely!

'You Dear Sweet Man' by Thomas Neviaser is a speed-read treat that is funny, poignant, down-to-earth and other-worldly. We are first introduced to Bobby, a hang-dog, down-trodden Every Man, whose mundane, predictable life has left him exhausted, defeated and depressed. A chance encounter on his daily subway trip home soon transports him into a fantasy world he could never have expected.
Soon into the book we meet the remaining cast of characters: Bobby's dim-witted co-workers at the newspaper printing shop, his pleasant but bland family:wife Mary and the two girls; the fellows from Burger Blast, who are launching a new, health-conscious fast-food enterprise and the two computer geeks, Preston and Freddie, who create a ground-breaking, history-making ad campaign. And then there's Samantha...
This clever book is simply delightful and the quirky, unique plot will have you turning pages well into the night. The characters are well-developed (particularly Samantha), and Mr. Neviaser's writing is a joy. I loved his attention to the minute details of his characters' daily lives, such as Bobby's habit of brushing his teeth in the shower to save time in the morning, the description of the tiny 50s kitchen with the avocado appliances, yellow chrome table and chairs, his wife's irritation caused by the never-ending march of plastic-encased garments whirling around in the dry cleaner where she works, and the curse of Bobby's 5 o'clock shadow which appears promptly at noon day in and day out.
The introduction of the computer whizz-kids, Freddie and Preston, take us into their fascinating world of animation, holographs and geeky bachelor lifestyles.
The story is beautifully crafted, gaining momentum as we're drawn along and there's a wonderful, unexpected twist at the end.
Thomas Neviaser's little gem, 'You Dear, Sweet Man', is smart, sexy and an absolute delight. The book is beautifully written with top-notch editing. I hope to read more from this talented and engaging writer.

    A Close Look At The Plot/Story -
The premise of You Dear, Sweet Man, is one that is fascinating in delivery. It’s an original work of fiction that is all about the fine line that does exist between fantasy and reality. The main character is called Bobby Fastow, and he becomes bewitched by a woman in an ad. The ad is for his favorite fast food place. There’s nothing special about Bobby. He’s an ordinary guy who takes the subway to work each day. Why Bobby is drawn to the lady in the ad is anyone’s guess. She isn’t real. However, he thinks he is going crazy because the woman in the ad seems to be flirting with him. When she steps out from the billboard and looks to coax him into her world, Bobby has to make one decision that will forever change his life.

Who is the main character or goal in this book?
The main character is Bobby Fastow. He’s a regular working stiff who has a blue-collar job that he finds dull. Each and everyone out there is a bit like Bobby. However, if one were to scrutinize it, they would see that it reveals just what life is all about. A significant part of our lives is living in the real world. Nonetheless, we do reside on the fantasy side as well, when ordinary life gets too stressful, sad, or what not. The sole objective of this book is to highlight that fact.

    My Personal Experiences -

Can I relate to the characters or goal in this book?

I surely can relate to Bobby’s character in every way. I’m human. I have fantasies. We all do. Our imaginations entertain us and keep us happy. They also provide the necessary escape when we need them most.

Would I change any part or parts in this book?

No, not at all, it was creative and different and should stay that way.

What Is My Recommendation For This Book? -

Would I recommend others to read this book?

Yes, I would, and that is because it was such an excellent book with an engaging plot, conflict, and everything else.
