Coral McCallum lives in Gourock, a small town on the west coast of Scotland with her family and her beloved cats.

A regular blogger, she began publishing short stories via her blog page and expanded her writing career from there.

Stronger Within, her debut novel and the first in the Silver Lake series, was published in 2015. Over the next few years she continued the series with Impossible Depths, Bonded Souls and Shattered Hearts before concluding the series with

Long Shadows in February 2021.

Coral has also published standalone novel, Ellen, following the career of fictitious band After Life.

In November 2022, Coral published her seventh novel, Riley, a standalone novel following the challenges that Riley Johnston faces as she launches her music career with the support of some familiar faces from the Silver Lake series.

Beginnings, Coral's first poetry anthology was published in February 2024.

Coral also writes music reviews for her blog page The525ToGlasgow , where she reviews the live shows she attends on a regular basis. A keen amateur photographer, her live reviews include her own concert photos.

    This book had some crazy twists and turns. My eyebrows were up. At first I was reading along in this series thinking it getting to wordy but I stuck with it. I'm glad I did.i fell in love with everyone

    This is the third book in the Silver Lake series and if you haven't already done so, I would recommend that in order to get the full experience you read the two previous books, Stronger Within and Impossible Depths first and get to know the Silver Lake family who have both grown and expanded in Bonded Souls.

    Still following the two main characters, Jake (the ex-music teacher and enigmatic front man of Silver Lake) and Lori (a graphic designer/artist who also dabbles in sourcing highly collectable musical instruments, mainly guitars, for her musical contacts whilst quietly managing her prestigious property portfolio). This instalment sees them cement their relationship in marriage.

    Ms McCallum continues to develop the most intriguing characters, most of whom, you can’t resist falling in love with. Her very descriptive writing style creates detailed images in your head much like a movie. Rather than just reading words on the page, you see it, feel it, smell it and hear it. She makes the book come to life and puts you right in the middle of this Rock band’s mayhem.

    Several new characters develop in this book, amongst whom are a new road manager to support Maddy, who now has a young family to juggle and the dark and reclusive musician, Salazar who crosses paths with Jake.

    One particular segment of this story is far darker than we are used to and a harrowing story line emerges which is so graphically described it is as if you are living through it. Quite horrific but necessary to encapsulate Jake’s state of mind when tormented by his old demons and how the aftermath of this event effects the close-knit group of friends.

    Another fabulous read that sees the Silver Lake band growing in popularity and establishing themselves on the tour circuit of the USA and Europe, where they are supported by After Life, a British rock band, lead by the bewitching singer Ellen Lloyd (who now has her own book ‘Ellen’ and it’s well worth reading)!

    I was delighted to learn that there’s more to come in Jake and Lori’s story and that of the Silver Lake family in book four, Shattered Hearts.

    I was so looking forward to reading the final part in Jake and Loris Silver Lake story and it didn't disappoint. Well written and perfectly paced throughout. I read the full book over the course of a few days and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a fitting end to a great story.     Excellent as usual. Was getting desperate for my next Silver Lake fix. Grips you as soon as you start it. I couldn't put it down. Only time I wasn't fed up with not sleeping. Jake and Lori just take you into the story and you pick it up right away from where you left them. Can't wait till next year and book 4 is out.

    Enjoyed catching up with the Silver Lake family and following another rollercoaster storyline. You can read this both standalone or as part of the series as again there’s plenty in it to entertain and in which to lose yourself. I’ll be side-stepping to Ellen next but look forward to Jake and Lori’s return!
