Coral McCallum lives in Gourock, a small town on the west coast of Scotland with her family and her beloved cats.

A regular blogger, she began publishing short stories via her blog page and expanded her writing career from there.

Stronger Within, her debut novel and the first in the Silver Lake series, was published in 2015. Over the next few years she continued the series with Impossible Depths, Bonded Souls and Shattered Hearts before concluding the series with

Long Shadows in February 2021.

Coral has also published standalone novel, Ellen, following the career of fictitious band After Life.

In November 2022, Coral published her seventh novel, Riley, a standalone novel following the challenges that Riley Johnston faces as she launches her music career with the support of some familiar faces from the Silver Lake series.

Beginnings, Coral's first poetry anthology was published in February 2024.

Coral also writes music reviews for her blog page The525ToGlasgow , where she reviews the live shows she attends on a regular basis. A keen amateur photographer, her live reviews include her own concert photos.

    I love the depth with which this author writes and her attention to detail!

    Jake and Lori’s story continues in this second book of the Silver Lake series and like the first book, Stronger Within (The Silver Lake Series Book 1) it is a great read from the get go. The secondary characters are so well developed that, as the reader, you can’t resist being invested in their lives and how much they contribute to the story.

    While both Jake and Lori’s career paths continue to plough ahead, this book deals with the departure of two of the characters I’ve come to enjoy reading about. However, these events result in us getting to know other characters, some new, on a deeper level and you just can’t help caring about them.

    There are several heart wrenching moments in this one and believe me, the lump in my throat became quite the boulder at times.

    What I truly like about Jake and Lori is their maturity, solidarity and respect for each other…despite the lives they live, both together and apart, there is no jealousy, they are just so comfortable with each other and their relationship. I really hope this doesn’t change in the next book Bonded Souls: Book 3 in the Silver Lake series, as it is obvious from how Impossible Depths ends, that Jake’s career is about to blow up big time.

    Impossible Depths continues the story begun in Stronger Within, following Jake, Lori, the rock band Silver Lake, and their families and friends through new ups and downs. The author has written another page turner, keeping the reader interested with every step of the story. There are also some tear-jerking moments - keep the tissues handy! All the characters are well-drawn, including the minor ones. I sympathised with them as much as with the major players - a sign of a great writer. Can't wait to see what Book 3 has in store. :)

    Having read the first book in the series I couldn't wait to get a hold of the second one. It certainly didn't disappoint. I am loving how the story between Jake and Lori is progressing but isn't purely centered on just their relationship but the relationships they have with friends and family. This was a thoroughly good read and I really cannot wait for the third instalment.
