Soul of Discretion Kindle Edition
Simon Bridgeworth believes in loyalty, and keeping things in-house. When he discovers his best friend, who has been running the Canadian division of Simon's tech empire, has been skimming millions from the company, Simon flies to Toronto to get to the bottom of the theft and learns his friend has been murdered. Devastated and at a loose end, Simon knows there's no way the company's problems can be kept under wraps now. Imagine his surprise when he learns the Mountie investigating the murder is the first repeat Simon has allowed himself in years.
Sergeant Nick Cooper is a proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He's served his country in the military, and now he's protecting the citizenry of Toronto. But devotion to duty is no longer enough. On a whim, Nick hooks up with Aristocrat69 on crUIzer, and what started as one night of incredible sex turns into an attraction neither man can ignore. When a grisly mob murder sends Nick to the Breakforce corporation, he is shocked to discover his lover is none other than its CEO. When Simon's life is threatened, ethical lines blur as Nick does anything to keep him safe - no cost is too high for the man who has become Nick's everything.

Review
I really enjoyed the way these two authors wrote together. I'm going to assume that they wrote one character each as usually seems to be the case with co-authors, but the switch between the two men was seamless and the overall writing style constant. The plot was extremely enjoyable. Billionaires aren't usually my thing but this didn't read like one of the usual "ridiculously rich guy" stories. The action/investigation portion of the plot moved along at a brisk pace, though no element felt rushed. And while I liked what the authors did with that - the secondary characters were well developed and interesting, and there wasn't any eye rolling TSTL moments - it was the relationship portion of the plot that I loved the most. In fact, the investigation wrapped up earlier in the story than is typical, and I can only say kudos to the authors for making that decision and allowing that extra time at the end to sort through the tangle that was Simon's and Nick's relationship. I think that's where the story could have fallen apart for me, if the crime was solved and hey presto Nick and Simon are living their HEA. Instead our two hopeless MCs are too awkward and stubborn to "use their words" and that harder ending felt much more satisfying.
These men together were hot. Really. Sexy. Hot. I'm not big on sex scenes as a rule, but the ones in this book get a great big tick of approval. The chemistry between them was pretty intense. I loved that the big tough Mountie wasn't shy about waving that ass in the air and Simon definitely wasn't shy about demanding and taking what he wanted. And while pet names normally have me gritting my teeth in disgusted horror (I LOATHE CUTESY PET NAMES) I loved loved loved that Simon and Nick used their crUIzer handles as endearments. It was the perfect way for these guys, who were determined not to show any feelings, to have their own special name for each other without exposing their sappy sides.
Bonus points are totally added for the inclusion for Simon's valet, Peter, performing an off key rendition of Whitney Houston's Bodyguard. Actually, just bonus points for Peter. I loved that sassy bugger!
I highly recommend giving this one a read. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2018A steamy connection with an intriguing story-line creates the basis for a wonderful story. I love these authors' work, their writing style flows so beautifully and you as the reader fall into the story as it unfolds. The characters are well developed and the supporting cast had some great jewels. I just loved Peter and Steph!
Simon and Nick felt really authentic to me, i enjoyed their banter, they comradely and their ability to team up to solve the case was fun. i liked how these two men found their way around culture, countries, money, careers and their own insecurities to find their future together.

Simon was a character that I really liked, but in some ways didn’t. He’s a wealthy man, has a title, has great friends and never acts like he’s better than anyone else. But, he’s also a man who only does one-night hook-ups and his response and the way he talked to someone interested in a second night showed him as a jerk. It doesn’t matter his position, he’s very involved with all of his business so when he finds out someone he thought was his friend was stealing and hiding from him, Simon is ready to kick butt. He flies to Canada to clean house but gets more than he bargains for. Simon meets Nick through his hook-up app and they both have a memorable night, though Simon is his typical rude self and lets Nick know it won’t be more than one night. Nick is in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and he’s ready for a relationship. But he has a lot going on in his life, and finds his path crossing with Simon in a professional standpoint. The RCMP works with Simon’s company to try to figure out what’s going on.
This story works through the case of what’s going on in Simon’s company, who the bad guys are and a satisfactory ending with the case. The case was fairly straightforward with no mystery. The bad guys make sure that Simon knows who they are and what they want. This wasn’t a simple solving of the case within a couple of days. The story covered many different parts of the investigation and let the reader walk through the solving of the crime. There are also issues for Nick on the force that result from the case involving Simon’s firm. For me personally, this added part just was a little too much and unnecessary. And, once the case is cleared up, Simon and Nick both need to decide on what they want for their life, together or apart.
I liked Nick and in the end, I liked Simon. I thought there were great, supporting characters. Though I didn’t love this book, I did enjoy it and would recommend it! I don’t think there are a lot of books with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (the reason I really wanted to read it) so I think it’s a great chance to see a character and case in that setting.

Book: Soul of Discretion
Author: Susan MacNicol
Publisher: Borroughs Publishing Group
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Mystery
Release Date: April 29, 2018
Pages: 180
Rated: Mature M/M
Again, Ms. MacNicol can formulate a story line like no one else. With all the new entries coming out for release, this was a fun premise! This would tweak interest by its blurb to any one who wants a fun read; “what happens when an Earl meets a Canadian Mountie?”
We first meet Simon Bridgewater, an Earl, who discovers his Toronto based tech company has huge financial losses. His long time friend is in charge of the companies running, and he has disappeared. Simon flies to Toronto.
Sgt. Nick Cooper of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is in town for a few days for meetings. He feels like he can treat it as a short vacation. What the heck?
Both are gay, both are horny and both are on the same dating/hookup app. Oh what are the chances heh? Oh Ms. MacNicol you do this sooooo well!
The book is sexy, hot, and the mystery helps these two be together more than they might normally have been, which is good for the reader. As always a good read! Don’t want to give any spoilers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miss matched men
I may be a bit biased because I live in Canada and therefore I am a fan of the Mounties but also this book is a collaboration with one of my favorite authors Susan MacNicol. Of course it’s great. With a pedigree like that, this tale of two very miss matched people can’t be anything but terrific.
I am not going to get into the plot because you can read the blurb and get how this book is going to go. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Stars. A wonderful connection with them and a get story.
4.5 stars.🌟 A great combination story from two fantastic authors. Simon and Nick are great together in this story. I loved the chemistry these two had and the storyline was great. Includes sexy scenes and a drama which enfolds from Jack which had me intrigued what happened.
Simon 35 yrs had an app for a gay dates site also he had a Company in Canada which was in trouble he'd need to investigate. Simon has a title which he hates being called Lord one way to definitely get on his bad side lol.
Jack was the boss of account operations for Simon in Canada, his excuses of misplacing 3 Mil of money causes Simon to be really peeved. When Simon receives a call from his friend, Jack saying hes in trouble and to be careful left Simon having questions.
Sergeant Nick 30 yrs was a Royal Mounted Police in Canada on an 3 day conference in Toronto. First time using the date app and he lines up a hookup and a connection is made.
