Rick Cantelli, P.I. (Book 9) Murder Madness (Rick Cantelli, P.I. Detectives) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 321 ratings

Getting older, Rick and Lois keep plunging Madigan/Cantelli Security and Investigations into a most dangerous game, fighting for their survival against New World Order minions with murder on their mind. When the Globalists lose control of the CIA and FBI, the CIA Director’s young niece falls prey to a hired assassin, ordered to kill her as a warning to Van Carmichael. Van calls on Rick and Lo to send the billionaire responsible a message the Illuminati hierarchy will never forget, and he wants the assassin done old school.

Movie making, somber changes in their young adult charges, and quantum shifts in the kids’ physical and emotional challenges, begin to unravel what the old partners considered solid. They can only advise as the three young screenplay and movie making partners endure problems with romantic entanglements that take their toll, driving the kids apart. In the midst of investigations, both on the domestic front and a missing college girl case, Rick begins to rethink all the violent physical confrontations he engaged in far too often. His reflexes, honed while working with young Jim, Rick believes are beginning to make him careless.

Threading into the ongoing rush of cases and political danger, Madigan/Cantelli Security must deal with guarding the set of Jim and Temple’s newest movie. A tangled mess of competing filmmakers, billionaire brothers seeking revenge for their father’s death at the hands of Rick, and a murderous attempted assault on the movie set run square into the deadliest pair of CIA killers who think any situation can be handled with a pair of pliers, a torch, or a bullet in the head.

Murder Madness is sheer craziness from start to finish...what a rush! Never slowing down to what's right (and even though Rick is in his "7th decade") the bad guys simply can't win. Jim handles his break with Temple with a maturity beyond his years. I'm glad Ellen is getting the slap she deserves for all the trouble she's caused. Kull is terrific with his almost paranormal response to Rick and the situations they encounter. The whole gang responds when billionaire brothers think they can eliminate Rick and Lo. FAIL! Sitting senators want a piece too but they ultimately end up the same way...dead. All of Mr. DeLeo's series are the best read ever. The stand alones are excellent and are not to be missed. If you've never read "Casserine" you're missing the perfect ending to those responsible for the world's enemies. Bernard, you're the best!

In the spirit of honesty - I loved the book. It’s fun to read about people my age who can still kick butt. But I also loved the more grown-up Jim. I’m glad he is approaching the vagaries of life with a positive mental outlook. Plus, he is turning into a kick a$$ teenager, which is always cool. So much literature gives us sobby, angst-ridden, self-involved teens instead of kids who are determined to make a difference in the world and work toward that goal.
Think I’m too wrapped up in fictional characters? Why else would you read fiction except to rejoice in their lives and wish you could do what they do? Who wants to read about someone just like me with all my problems? I’d rather read about those who change this crazy world for the better. And enjoy a little mayhem along the way!

The only thing that I can tell you about this book is that you need to download it and read it. It is the latest COMPLETLY satifying chapter in the Rick Cantelli, P.I. series. The book starts with a bang and continues right to the last page.
Neither Rick, Lo, Jim or Kull miss a beat and the action hardly ever pauses much less stops. The only regret is that it will now be a period of time before the author releases the next book in this series or one of the other series he writes!!!!

Murder Madness delivers the punch that we have come to expect from a master storey teller. We were treated to intrigue in romance based on teen interactions. De Leo deals with today's issues of bullying and courage. The aging Rick and Lois still get it done. But, the reality of age touches home. I related to this story at many levels. Enjoyable and thought provoking entertainment. Plus, Kull keeps me smiling. Great stuff.

Another great read from the Cantelli series! Once I started reading it I didn't want to put it down. The fast paced action and humor are always great and leave you asking when the next book will be out!

As usual, Rick and Lo at their best! Adding Kull to these stories give it quite the punch.
All the characters in the Rick Cantelli books are great. Bernard Lee DeLeo is a fantastic writer, keeps us readers on our toes. Anxious for the next one.

This is one of the best action and political thrillers that I have read this year. Great action, fantastic character development and script that drags you into each conflict and when you come out you are exhausted because you meld with the characters.
