These days she stays busy helping in the community and donating her services to a not-for-profit organization, which she helped establish. Presently, she resides in CT where she has lived with her family for the past thirty years. She still misses her time on the sunny Caribbean islands, but takes pleasure in using them as backdrops to some of her stories.

    The Complaisant Lover is by Ju Ephraime. This is a story of falling in love with the right person at the wrong time. It is easy to read and quick to read but does have some graphic sexual scenes.
    Warren Melbourne is a decent man with a lot of integrity. He treats his customers quite well and does all he can to do what is right. He is busy trying to build his furniture making business up to a successful level. He has been building several items for Mrs. Virginia Arnold. She comes around daily for updates on her piece or so she says. She is really wanting to start a fling with Warren and he knows it so he keeps her at arms-length and gets her furniture finished as quickly as possible. He is hoping she will tell her rich friends about the furniture when they see it and boost his business. He knows better than to mess with a married woman. That is until Cassandra Corwin comes into his life. Then he is lost.
    Cassandra has no intention of being unfaithful to her husband. They work together remodeling houses and she designs some of the furniture. She goes to Warren to have him make some pieces for their current project. Both she and Warren feel an instant attraction; but try to ignore it. When Cassandra and Melvin start a reality show, they have Warren on the show to help promote his business and to have him make furniture for their projects. This gives them an original lead over other builders and designers. Only because of his wish to get his business going and because he can’t deny Cassandra anything, Warren agrees to be on the show for a short time.
    Can Warren and Cassandra keep avoiding each other and the sexual tension that surrounds them? What will Melvin’s reaction be when he learns of this attraction?

    The main character finally begins a sexual relationship with a woman he had 'worshipped' from a bit afar. However, she is married and this causes a slow but then more intensive closes. Without giving the ending away, let me just tell you that I did find the first 1/3rd to 1/2 of this book boring, as the action and meaning of the story took place, it became much more interesting. Therefore, I recommend reading THE COMPLAISANT LOVER with awareness of the pace within.

    I am always surprised by Ms Ephraime's books, she somehow manages to hone in on circumstances that challenge the reader. The Complaisant Lover weaves its way through several diverse themes, yet does so without affecting the lively pace and easy flow of the story. The scenario is not one I would normally chose to read but I'm glad I did, because Ms Ephraime has handled it with sensitivity, exploring in depth the conflict, the vulnerability, and the almost debilitating confusion faced by those who suddenly find themselves in a situation unsought, unwelcome, and one which will upset the status quo, irrevocably. The characters are well portrayed, complete with internal torment and external anxieties, yet are genuinely interesting and wholly captivating. This is a story of love, loyalty, heartache, doubt, and trust and the courage to reach for that elusive HEA, and one I truly enjoyed!

    I have read several books by Ju Ephraime. She always has a great plot with a great twist at the end. The Complaisant Lover was no exception.
    I learned a lot about vanities and woodwork in this book as quite a few pages were dedicated to Warren’s occupation yet the story was never boring.
    This was the story of finding a compatible partner at the wrong time, or was it the right time? Read it for yourselves the find out the juicy details.
    The story is intriguing and one I highly recommend to all romance lovers.
