Ride for a Bride in Wyoming: Western Historical Romance Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 106 ratings

Under the wide Wyoming sky, two stubborn hearts are about to collide. Annora Lee Bostwick has a fierce passion for saving animals, and marriage is the last thing on her mind when she moves to Wyoming to establish an animal shelter. That is, until blackmail forces her into a corner and the only way out is to tie the knot.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Birch Struthers lives wild and free as a champion bull rider, but duty calls him home to save the family ranch. In order to inherit the land he loves, he must find a bride - and fast. With time running out, his only option is to win the annual Ride for a Bride race, where the prize is a ready-made wife.

When Annora and Buffalo's paths cross, the clash between the city girl animal savior and the untamed cowboy is as fiery as it is irresistible. Though neither wants the prize they've been forced to compete for, their attraction blazes into a passion as wild as the Wyoming range. Annora came west for freedom, not to be roped into marriage.

And Buffalo would rather tangle with the meanest bull than be harnessed to a wife. But with blackmail and responsibility weighing heavily on their shoulders, they must decide which is more important: fighting to stay apart, or surrendering to love?

Hello and welcome to my author page. Let me tell you a little about myself, as that seems to be the main purpose of this profile. Believe it or not, I began my fiction career in the third grade when I told my class that a little sister I never had died of a black widow bite. I also wrote books through my teen years, always about a girl whose mother mistreated her by making her wash dishes, sweep the floor... you get the idea. Never finished any of those stories. But the idea of writing a real book and publishing it never occurred to me. It was a particularly vivid dream that drove me to drag out a portable typewriter and go to work on my first novel. In 1990 my second completed book, Tender Touch, brought me a first place win in a writing contest and the following year became a Golden Heart Finalist. That won me an agent and a contract from Kensington who published five of my western historical romance novels. My books have placed or won in other contests as well. Forever Mine received a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award nomination. I've always loved the Old West and I believe my novels reflect that emotion through their depth and vibrancy. I am always working on a new story. I hope you try my books and enjoy them. Follow me here on my author page and on my website at https://charleneraddon.com & get a free book.

I grew up in the era of the TV and movie westerns, and this brought me back to that exciting time with her lovable and interesting characters, and of course, the romance. Buffalo Birch riding his big, bull buffalo, Hezzie. And Annora with her love for animals and her work with the ASPCA. I didn't realize how far back the ASPCA went, but Charlene does her research very well. This was a fun read and kept me going until the very end.

Ride for a Bride in Wyoming is a highly entertaining western. Angora and Birch are polar opposites until she is shown he doesn’t abuse his stock and he discovers he can’t live without her. Priceless ending!

This was a fun read. Made me shake my head a lot and wondered if Annora would ever survive in the west. Her love and understanding of animals might not be so loved in the old west.
Birch and her were always at each other's patience. Could they dislike each other that much? or could something else be happening to them?
Good clean story and fun read.

This is an unusual love story. It was very well and imaginative written. There is excitement, adventure, a buffalo and a hope of a happily ever after. You will really enjoy reading this story. I did!

This was such a fun book. The premise was unique and the plot never fell into the same ol' same ol' you can run into with historical romances. Nice pace, plot twists, likable characters. Everything you want in a book. And I learned things about the West and ASPCA I never knew.

Funny, entertaining and worth reading. This book has love sneaking up on two people who does not want to be married. Although he had several situations that wasn't addressed before the ending. You will enjoy reading this book

this was a cute little book. Imagine a woman from Boston going west to tell ranchers that they're abusing their animals and to stand for animals rights by forming a new chapter of the aspca. Then add to it that her mother has sent word that her cousin is to find her a husband.
Throw in a Buffalo riding Rancher whose father left in his will that to inherit the ranch he must be married within 12 months and only 3 months are to go. Throw in a Ride for the Bride race where the girl is the prize and the Rancher is expected to win. Add a few Jealous suitors and the fact that the two can't stand each other and you have the perfect mix for this entertaining summer read. Bravo Ms. Raddon a great addition to the Rocky Mountain Romance Series.
