"...the best book yet. I was so in love with the story I couldn't put it down." - Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock

Danann, tells the long awaited story of the conflict between the kingdom of Irish elves and the kingdom of Scotia fae. Romeo and Juliet retold with the most delicious HEA ever.

"What do you know about my sister and that prancin' prick of a fairy prince?" - Rammel Hawking

Duff Torquil is heir to Scotia, the kingdom of Fae, who have been at war with the Elves for two thousand years. Fae and Elves are both species who have evolved to respond to one fated lover with whom they will mate for life. Duff Torquil's predestined mate is perfect for him in every way: beautiful, smart, polished, strong willed and a talented psychic who works for The Order of the Black Swan. The only problem is that she also happens to be Aelsong Hawking, talented Black Swan psychic, younger sister of the famous vampire hunter, Sir Rammel Hawking, AND the only daughter of the royal house of Elves. After escaping together to establish a quiet obscure life away from both families and the political differences between elves and fae, the young lovers are captured, separated, secluded, and left to die as mated pairs of their species tend to do when permanently parted. Fortunately, an angelic intervention persuades the unlikely "powers that be" to get involved and the couple embarks on an epic journey through alternate dimensions that know no limits.

"QUEEN OF ALPHA MALE CHARACTERS!" - Slashed Reads

Victoria's signature humor ("Everybody was staring at me because I was on the subway in fits of laughter and couldn't stop!") creeps into each and every book whether she intends it or not. But the heart of Victoria's books is romance, the real kind that often begins with slow burn then lasts and lingers like a charge in the air. Forever.

The rich characterizations and quirky personalities that readers so often comment about come from being a lifelong student of behavior - casually (love to people watch), and a serious student of behavior academically. She has also studied comparative religion, myths, and Dark Ages history.

Victoria lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband and a very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.

    A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS

A Tale of Two Kingdoms is book 6 in the Knights of the Black Swan. The books should be read in order- My Familiar Stranger, The Witch's Dream, A Summoner's Tale, Moonlight, and Gathering Storm. I think you will fall as much in love with this series as I have.

What would you be willing to give up for love- your family, your country, the crown? Perhaps even harder, would you be willing to disregard centuries of hate and mistrust? What would you be willing to suffer for love- imprisonment, banishment, accepting a crown?

Aelsong Hawkings is the only daughter of the Royal House of Ireland. She is an elf. Duff Torquil is the only son of the Royal House of Scotland. He is a fae. Elves and fae have been bitter enemies for a thousand years. Song and Duff met by chance in an Edinburgh pub. One look and they knew they were true mates. Now they just have to convince the rest of the world. Over the previous books, the two lovers have managed to steal only a few precious moments to meet and declare their feelings. They have patiently looked for ways to legitimately marry and heal the wounds between their two races. However, each day that goes by, their longing for each other grows and so those the pain of separation. In this book, they make a desperate, daring attempt to finally be together even though they know their actions may make them traitors in the eyes of their families and people.

This is a story about love. Love in many forms. At the heart of the tale, is the romantic and very erotic love between Song and Duff. It is beautiful and passionate. We also see the deepening love between Elora and Ram. There is also love that becomes too possessive and demanding. Equally as important is the love between friends and family. What happens when the beliefs you have held regarding your traditions and laws are in direct opposition to the what you feel for your family and friends? Can love overcome prejudice? In the end, maybe we are defined by that choice.

Victoria Danann has done it again. This a wonderful story that sweeps you away from the very beginning. I love spending time with these characters. We also get an insight in to why the different dimensions were created, why elves and fae are enemies, and why those two races are blessed/cursed with having only one true mate. I cannot wait until the next book is available. This series is highly addictive and a joy to read.

I can't wait when Victoria writes about the Black Swans and their world the live in or should I dominions? This is a complex, well written and highly entertaining book. It covers multiple stories about the different people, you know and new characters, within the Black Swan series. There is heartache, headache, humor, love, battles and unruly vampires. I highly recommend you read this book and all the others in the series.

Book 6 in the Knights of Black Swan (a novella) continues in the vein of adventure, true love and involvement of characters beginning from book 1. Aelsong Hawking, princess of the elves and sister of Rammel of the Knights, and Duffy, prince of the fae, are true mates. Having discovered this over a year previous, they have fought the mating desires and waited to decide how to be together when their two cultures have been at war for over two thousand years. And the adventure begins as the two plot to elope and their two kingdoms are out for blood. This time around, there is little violence and no other dimensions are out to slaughter the Knights. Instead we get a look at the creators of the Earth's populations and its various dimensions. "Angelic?" intervention seems to be in order. A nice break from the usual suspense and knightly duties of protecting Earth's people. The characters keep developing and friendships strengthen. Ms. Danann's writing remains strong and dialogue right on.

I enjoyed every book in this series (6). All were good. All characters thoroughly developed. Elora and Rammel, Storm and Litha, are such good examples of finding your true soul mates. The vampires' simple desire to have a life doing a job that he likes, coming home every night to a loving mate and a family he adores, seeing them grow up and growing old together is all he ever wants. I could not have put it better.

By the end of the series I felt like I wanted to include them as part of my family. Great series!

When this book was released in the box set I was so excited. I had been biting at the bit wanting to know Duff Torquil and Aelsong Hawking's story and with this book in the Knights of Black Swan Saga I got it. Their story is the epic Romeo and Juliet without the suicide part but only much more exciting and better. Two families at war for so many years that they lost the real reason why. Everyone works together to find out the truth while Duff and Aelsong bond with their mating. Kept away from each other and then finally being able to be with each other only to be ripped apart again is so heart wrenching for the two of them. You will just have to go out and read it to find out the whole story. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

In *A Tale of Two Kingdoms*, fans of Victoria Danann's Knights of the Black Swan series at last have the story of the elf princess, Aelsong (Rammel's sister) and the fae prince, Duff. Their love is forbidden due to the millennium long enmity between fae and elves. Separated by politics and kingdoms, it seems that only intervention from Elora, Litha, and other preternatural beings may avert tragedy and make a way for love to prevail.

If you are new to the Knights of the Black Swan series, you should read it in order beginning with *My Familiar Stranger*, (which is a free read). If you love PNR with lots of heart pounding action, strong heroines and alpha males, passionate romance, and a variety of paranormal beings, you need look no further than the *Knights of the Black Swan* saga.

As you can tell, I LOVE this series. Now for the hard part--waiting for the next installment, *Z Harmony.Com*, which will pick up the story of Glendennon Catch and the Order's notorious Z team (and, I hope, more romance between Glen and Rosie).

Great job Victoria, as always! I love how the idea of the mating bond was initially used to bring around the Elves and Fae and ultimately end the war.

I have read all of the series, just purchased Number 7 and about to immerse myself in the next fabulous read. These are beautifully written stories, full blooded and totally convincing. The pricipal parties are wonderfully real and I am invested in them all. I don't think I have read a series that I loved this much since Robert Jordan and George R R Martin. I will progress to lap up all of this writer's works, confident that they are money well spent. (By the way, they are a lot cheaper than some other 'supposed' top writer's offerings, much better value). Victoria rules!
