(Lady Justice #35)
by Robert Thornhill
The 35th installment of the Lady Justice series. The author has found more conspiracies to let the reader debate. Walt Williams and friends work their way around new terrorist groups. The story keeps you hanging on to see what happens next. This book kept me entertained and thinking. Thank you Robert Thornhill for keeping Lady Justice alive.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019As with all of the other books in the Lady Justice series, I enjoyed reading the latest by Robert Thornhill, Lady Justice and the Quirky Arlo Quimby. In this installment, Walt is introduced to Arlo, a part-time waiter at a fancy restaurant, who overhears what he thinks is a terrorist plot against the country. The police department is blowing him off, but Arlo continues to provide new clues to make for a stronger case. Arlo is also a part of a quirky group of followers who think the earth is flat and convinces Walt to partake is some of the weekly discussions; although, I feel the author spent too much time in the book about the debate of flat vs. round and should have focused more on the case or the bad guys. After solving the terrorist plot, somebody is killing senior members of the group and wants to put an end to them. Can Walt find the killer before it is too late? It is a fun and quick read and can be recommended for any age group.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2020This time out, Walt gets involved with Arlo Quimby, who has information about a planned bombing of a Federal ammunition facility. The cops won't listen to him because he is a flat earther and they think he is making things up. Arlo ends up with Walt and Kevin, and they discover that what Arlo heard was real. Arlo invited them to a Flat Earth meeting, and when they go, their car is vandalized while they are inside. This story is a well researched as all the others that I have read, with illustrations and arguments that will blow your mind. The author even makes himself a character in this book. I think you would enjoy traveling along with Walt, and I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2019Just finished book 35 in this series. Yes I have read all 35 this is a record for me, the most books is one series that I have read. I have enjoyed all of them. Robert Thornhill does not disappoint. Thornhill always has a current issue that he addresses . This time Thornhill has chosen the believers of the flat-earth and the NASA is a hoax conspiracy. Walt ends up right in the middle of this without really even trying (wrong place, wrong time thing). I always find myself learning along with Walt and his gang. Once again George Kuch is the extraordinary voice for Walt Williams. I hope George Kuch is having as much fun narrating these books as I have listening to him. But then how could he not :-)

- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2019The newest offering by author Robert Thornhill, “Lady Justice and the Quirky Arlo Quimby,” is well off the beaten path of most mystery books. This time Thornhill sets his mystery/comedy series around the believers of the flat-earth and the NASA is a hoax conspiracy theorists. A routine action/thriller would have just stayed in the story line parameters of bad guys blowing up munition plants around the USA in an effort to disrupt our security. Thornhill makes the one reporting the plot, Arlo Quimby, a member of the Flat-Earth Society. As the story unfolds, Thornhill works into it details about the beliefs of its members and the possibility that they are correct…even Walt Williams, retired real estate broker turned KC police associate turned PI. Of course, the bad guys are caught before the task of leveling 5 plants simultaneously takes place, but the story doesn’t end there. There is still a rogue agent trolling the flat-earthers. The second part of the book deals with finding out who wants to shut the flat-earthers up as they make their secondary claims, that the NASA space flights have been a 70-year-old hoax perpetrated upon the American public. Again, Thornhill doesn’t deal in conclusions but presents much in the way of evidence toward this thinking.
At the conclusion, Thornhill makes a plea for tolerance for others who hold beliefs different than the majority, for using discussion and debates instead of bombs. In that message, he is of course, correct.
If one wants to explore these ideas more fully, Thornhill gives the reader a list of sources to which they turn for more information. The story, #35 in the Lady Justice Series is fast paced and has some humorous moments as all the Lady Justice books do. One must suspend judgement on people with different beliefs as this one pushes the envelope on conspiracies committed by our government upon our people.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2019I am usually such a big fan of any of the Authors Books, but this time I just did not like it as much as all the previous ones. Usually the books are a quick read, with mystery that requires some quick thinking of our hero Walt and his motley crew, sprinkled with humor throughout. Where the Author lost me this time around was the long drawn out lectures on why some believe that the Earth is flat. Anyway it was an entertaining read, but not my favorite by far. However I am still a fan of Robert Thornhill, you just can't make everybody happy all the time.
