USA Today bestselling author Honey Phillips writes steamy science fiction romance about hot alien warriors and the Earth women they can’t resist. From abductions to invasions, the ride might be rough, but the end always satisfies.

Honey wrote and illustrated her first book at the tender age of five. Her writing has improved since then. Her drawing skills, unfortunately, have not. She loves writing, reading, traveling, cooking, and drinking champagne - not necessarily in that order.

So the last book I wrote quite a bit more than usual in my review. The series finally started to show the features I had been looking for and was definitely a positive shift from the first few books. The vibe in this one is an equally positive change from the first few books. So I won't go into all of that except to say the series is continuing to get better with each book. This may actually be my favorite of the series so far. (Though I'm not a fan of the butt-stuff. Only because it seems a bit over-used throughout alot of the books in this series. That I've read so far anyways.) This was super sweet and sexy and cute! I adored the dynamic between Ella and Karthajin. It was super hot and yet adorable how their attraction formed. He thought she was a child at first! He assumed she was a young girl, and didn't even realize she was human. It was so cute, and I absolutely loved when he finally realized she was an adult and the way he fought his feelings at first. I loved the pacing of this one. Karthajin really took his time with Ella and I found it incredibly sexy and also a positive change in pace as well. Intimacies usually happen fairly quick in these books and I enjoyed the drawn-out foreplay and patience. It made it that much more steamier in my opinion. I also loved that Karthajin was Ella's first. I always find that so special, and even more so because she made everything feel like it was his first as well. This was a true love story and very sweet. Loved it!

I really like this author! I read some of her more recent writings and decided to read this series. The first 4 books in the series let me down, I almost stopped reading this series. The FMC's weren't very strong or independent. They seemed to cry and whine a lot. Those books were written 5 years ago. I like the older books because it shows how this author's writing style changes and improves over the years. This book, the fifth in the series, is more on par with her current writing style IMO. The FMC grows into a strong character and not whiney. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

It seems like this book became the major point for the rest of the series, which is great because this is the first on I read without cringing a little bit (or a lot depending on the book). The new (sort of) Emperor, Karthajin, runs into a human slave being attacked by a couple guards. This is Ella and she was abducted at the age of ten. In the eight years that have passed she manages to now serve the Emperor's household. Ella plays on the innocence angle a lot, which Karthajin is willing to play along. They meet, they fall, and the rest is mentioned in almost every other book. That is why this one is the one to start with in my own opinion.

I have been enjoying the universe and ongoing plot of this series, but not loving how most of the stories go a little too far and hang out too long in the whole slave-domination area.

After taking a break, I'm glad I came back to this story, it was just as well written and steamy as the previous four, and a bit more positive. I hope the variety continues.

This is a good writer! The pacing, dialogue, world building, characters, and sensuality are very well done. I can not take that away from this writer or this series despite my discomfort. My issue is that it becomes a bit difficult to feel fully invested in the H' in this series as having a heart of gold when the characters profit from and benefit from chattel slavery. There is nothing romantic about chattel slavery. There is some whitewashing of that integral plot element in a few of these books. It gets rather disturbing when both the h and H make lame excuses about why slavery can't be banned. Ella was delightful, but what about all the other Ellas? You know the ones that did get sold to the brothels under her dreamboat Emperor's rule and sanction? That thought sat with me after reading another book in this series where the h was able to get this abusive institution down to 1 year, but so what? That's still a year of exploitation unless you luck up on a "kind" master. Wtf? That whole idea of a sexy chattel slave owner just sticks in my craw and sours some of the enjoyment of the characters for me. Prince charming saves Cinderella while condoning slavery in his kingdom. Yeah, not my idea of a hero at all. I'm going to give the author the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she deals with that in another volume of this series, but I'm unlikely to read further to find out.

I almost DNF'd this one because i didnt like the way they seemed to infantalize the fmc, but once she gets over her speech issue shes actually revealed to be brilliant so it wnds up being pretty good. So weird story with very weird worldbuilding regarding laws of people and property but entertaining and relatively short. This is the first one in the series that i read, and kind of wished i read them in order because there are some references to characters from the previous ones but i had thought it was standalone, and i suppose ot is bit to be fully informed- read in order.

Ella was captured from Earth by Aliens when she was ten years old. She was sold to an elder Kaisarian couple, who reared her like their own child. When the couple was murdered, Ella was sold to the imperial palace. Because of the traumatic experience she lost her speech. When two of the guards tried to rape her, she was saved by the emperor Katharjin. He felt at once attracted to the childlike woman. But how does an emperor have an official relationship with a slave?
It was a good and touching read. Katharjin is a strong willed but caring character and Ella is a sharp witted woman, who likes to play her pranks, so the two of them fit very good together. I highly recommend this book.

I have now read the series, it is very very good, although to be honest this book is the only one I had a problem with. I kept reading because, even though it wasn't for me, Honey is such a good author and I can't stop reading a well written book until the very end. I really enjoyed this series, plausible, smoothly written, well told.
Well done Honey and thank you for keeping me so well entertained and absorbed over the series and I now look forward to reading some of your other books.

I've loved all of Alien abduction series I've read so far! I love Ms. Philips writing style. Her books never fail to entertain, engage my heart and make me read quickly so I can devour the whole book.
This book in particular was so easy to fall in love with their characters and watching K&E grow up and expand the scope of their feelings into a partnership that will no doubt be tested but remain solid through books a d years to come.
