Once Upon a Highland Legend (Guardians of the Stone Book 5) Kindle Edition
Embark on a journey into magical Medieval Scotland, to a time when the shadowy Picts are in danger of vanishing from the Highland tapestry, and Scotland itself will arise a nation from the ashes of betrayal.
In the year 2014, American-born Annie Ross has gone through her entire life a bit lost. She's about to find herself lost in time as well—all the way back to 878 A.D.—where she will take her place as a guardian of the Stone of Destiny, and find a way to restore the faith of a powerful Highland chieftain. Her discovery in ancient Scotland will open her eyes to truths about love and lore, and once there, she has a difficult choice to make. Is she brave enough to change the course of destiny? Will she win Callum's heart?

All her life she has dreamed of forgotten people and places and now she is about to get the adventure of a lifetime.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021I found this book somewhat disappointing, it will serve for a light read but it did not capture me in the story at all. The plot and how it evolved seemed superficial, without deeper character development. It was not bad but I know I will not remember it either.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2024What an awesome story this was about a modern day scientist Annie Ross who time traveled back to the 11th century. She met her soulmate Callum on a hill when she woke. His clan had the Stone of Destiny hid in a cave on the mountain. Love this story - it has romance, history and intrigue.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2023This story was short, the ending seemed to rush and be done. I could predict the plot quite well, but still a fun read.

Love love love this author
She uses an easy to read style that doesn't skimp on detail and imagery
This set of books can be read as stand alone stories, but my bet is once you've read one you'll want to read them all including the prequel set highland brides.
All the stories are based around romance set in a background of historic Scottish/English borders. The Gaurdian of the stone series relates particularly to a clan of Picts & The Stone of Scone with a dash of "pagan magic" thrown in to bring it into the 21 st century. Highly recommended for teens and older.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read but predictable
Easy read enjoyable but rather predictable set in the highlands of Scotland. But a rather flimsy beginning about a crystal that's all been done before.
