I just finished this fantastic book and am still in awe. What a great read! It is so different from the other books by this author that I have read, but equally fantastic. That, folks, shows versitility. A good writer can write in different time periods, in varied situations, with equally spectacular results. That's the case with this can't-be-put-down story set in the days right before the American Revolution.

Lord Christian Haukinge had everything within his grasp--an inheritance, a lovely fiance, and the respect of his peers. In one fell swoop, his jealous older brother took it all away, leaving Christian to turn to the sea and life as the Prince of Smugglers. He never quite forgot the bitter sting of being denied his bride-to-be, however, and when an opportunity presents itself to get revenge on her family he has to act. Wanting to see his sister wed to someone else, the lovely Jessie's brother wants to hire Christian to break her heart so that she will forget him and move on. What sort of brother does such a thing? And what sort of man would accept?

But when he first lays eyes once again on Jessie, he knows he can never hurt her. But will he be able to find a way to have her, when her brother had already denied him once before? Circumstances pull them apart and throw them back together again, tossing them from heartbreak to longing....and then, just maybe love.

I just can't say enough positive things about this book. I loved it. The passion and fire between the two main characters is completely all consuming and burns so hot that I think I got a 2nd degree burn from holding my Kindle. There are moments that are so beautiful that you can feel it clear to the very depths of your soul--and then pain that will have you crying into the pillow right along with Jessie. But then, just when you need a pick-me-up, something ridiculously funny happens and makes you smile. This book was so engrossing that I read it all in one setting, much to my family's chagrin. The house could've got up and walked away and I wouldn't notice, so immersed was I in Tanya Anne Crosby's colorful world.

Great read--deserves so many more than just 5 stars! I hope Jessie's cousin Ben's story is coming soon!

Kissed by a Rogue started a little slowly, but the end made up for it. An exciting tale of America’s beginnings and the reasons behind the break from England. Delightful characters abound as well as true rotters, as the British say. Thank you Tanya for recovering my faith in your skilled wordsmithing.

I never hesitate to purchase books by Tanya Anne Crosby. The only issue I have with reading her books is that I lose sleep because I find it very hard to put her books down.

I was not sure at first, if I would like the hero of this particular book. He seemed to be more of a villain than a hero. Then I discovered the true villain, where there was no doubt about this one! I loved the surprise twist later in this story about that particular person!

In the end, I did lose sleep again with this book because I got caught up in the story and didn't want to stop reading. However, I don't regret that lost sleep because it was worth every word! I'm hoping Tanya will do a follow-up story about this heroine's cousin, so I can read about his happy-ever-after also!!

I gave this book a four star rating because it lacked a complete epilogue however, I would recommend this book to all romantic readers because it had most of the important elements of a good read.

This was a truly enjoyable romance with two very stubborn people who were meant for each other. Their relationship was filled with misunderstandings and the lies of others that kept them apart for a while but true love always find a way. Definitely a thumbs up for me!

I love this author and am reading every book of hers I can find. However, this book has been my least favorite as the plot hangs almost entirely on lack of communication, misunderstandings, and the resulting strife between the principals. Not since my twenties when I discovered Julie Garwood have I been able to enjoy a book that almost in its entirety revolves around hostility between two people who supposedly love one another. This series has this been my least favorite. I hope the author returns to plots that allow love to grow BEFORE the last pages of the book, and be enriched by the plot happening around and through it.

Christian and Jessamine.. Wow. Christian has problems. He is a disinherited younger son who really isn't part of the family. Jessamine does as well. She is being bartered off to a not so nice Lord. She tells her brother that she will only the man she was to marry before her father died.

Christian isn't who Jessie thinks he is. Fleeing to the Colonies to escape being arrested in England, Christian kidnaps Jessie and puts her on his ship. Sparks fly and laughter heals.

I laughed out loud in reading about Mrs. Smith and Quincy. Jean Paul and Ben were great secondary characters. I would like to see Ben again.

Thanks Tanya for another wonderful day of reading.

I just loved other books by this author including the wonderful 'McKinnons Bride' and 'Highland Fire'. But this book just didn't do it for me and I stopped reading halfway through.

On the surface the plot is good...a woman's horrible brother hires her ex to pretend to woo her so that he can get her disillusioned enough to marry his ghastly buddy. So the hero is involved in a con to break his ex finance's heart. It could have worked but it didn't. Instead of a fast paced engaging plot like her other books, this was more of a confusing ramble. In the end I did not know what was happening nor did I care.
