Back Lands magazine for outdoor enthusiasts has featured Robin Hawke and her outfitting business several times. When her friend, Josie Whittle, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, asks Robin to take a group of writers and photographers out for a week Robin is happy to do it until she finds out that one of the writers going on the trip has never even been camping, let alone gone on a multi-day hike.
After getting fired from a business magazine, her life in ruins, and forced to go home to Colorado where her father has her under his thumb, Marianne Jones is lucky to be writing for anyone. Her new boss at Back Lands magazine, Josie, insists Marianne go out on a weeklong hike with some other writers and photographers from the magazine. The only hiking Marianne does is at the mall and she’s never been camping, so she is not happy about this trip.
Marianne makes Robin mad before the hike even starts, and Robin assumes Marianne is just another snooty socialite forced to work by her parents. Both women try to ignore the sparks flying between them on the trails in vain.
These two women with nothing in common, except broken hearts, are thrown together by fate. Can they find common ground, or will tragedy take away the chance for them to find out what they could have had?

The initial impression of Marianne is an entitled, spoiled young woman whose a bit clueless about life, and she really tests Robin's patience with being late and unprepared for a rugged hike in the mountains. But the first impressions they have of each other quickly dissolve, and after a dangerous accident, their silent attraction to each other leads them into an intimate moment, which sets the foundation for a relationship neither think they want or are ready for. This is a really nice love story with little angst between the love interests with some real-life family issues. The bits of adventure and danger help to bring out the best qualities of the pair and their friends and solidify their feelings/love for each other.

A great story about a long distance hike in the most scenic spots but difficult to pass , a city girl who is completely unprepared for the elements, a Native American, greedy men, betrayed by a friend and attempted murder. You get a taste of the Ute culture, a bit of suspense, a wonderful romance and a few surprises along the way. I liked the storyline and the dynamic between the main characters is heartwarming. It was an exciting and enjoyable read.

I loved the story line of Robin and Marianne first meeting and how it begins with a hiking/camping trip in the mountains which at the end of the trip they both end up sleeping together. I literally could not stop laughing as I read when they had sex only the second time preventing everyone from getting a good night sleep at the lodge before going on a hiking trip the next morning. I also liked the story line of the company taking over the lodge and redeveloping into ski resort and hidden agenda of producing a new kind of meth. I actually read this book twice. The first time I read it. I couldn't put it down. I had to read to the end which took me five and half hours but it was worth it. The second time I took my time reading and enjoyed it even more. I loved how the author had them get married and described the wedding dresses and the backdrop of where the wedding was held. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes romance that comes with challenges

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hiking Trip: Make-up ditched. Make-out, not so much!

    A simple story, simply told…Just lovely! – 5 Stars

Native American, Robin Hawke, is always calm and confident when she leads groups out to hike the trails around Black Bear Mountain, but when city-based reporter, Marianne, arrives hours late with matching luggage in tow, Robin fears even keeping her temper is going to be a challenge…

Purchased to while-away a lazy Sunday evening, this book more than delivered on the easy-read romance I was looking forward too. With scenes set among gorgeous natural environments, likeable characters, and a plot that skilfully blended romance with adventure, it included so many of my favourite story elements that I felt positively spoilt.

M E Tudor is not an author I’ve read before, but I really liked her writing style. With a straight-forward approach to language, and short chapters that continually moved the story forward, I found I’d finished the book without ever thinking about how much I had left to read. It's an engaging story, told in an unpretentious way…and that was just perfect. I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of references to Native American culture.

A super, short-length and very sweet romance. I’d happily recommend ‘Avalanche of Love’ to anyone looking for a fast-paced, largely angst-free read.

Learning not to be ashamed of yourself is important otherwise no one can see your inner beauty. Trusting is also important as that is the bases of love. Let no one stop you from loving

Great to read a story set in a different location from the norm. The characters have you engrossed with a will they won't they through the story. Wonderful ending.

Well another great romance it’s got it all beautiful country, snow, drug dealers and assassins as well as the FBI,oh and not forgetting the embarrassing hot sex. What never ceases to amaze me is the details that M E puts into the background of her characters I’m by no means an expert on Native American culture but I as very impressed with what was written, its well worth a read on a fairly warm summers day
