~Awarded 2018 Writer of the Year by Akron University's Wayne College~

Chloe Flowers writes small town contemporary women’s fiction, and historical women’s action and adventure romance novels about scoundrels, pirates, and spunky, independent heroines.

Chloe is also a beekeeper. She names her queens after the flowers painted on their hives. Her pets have always been named after her favorite characters or action heroes: Indiana, Luke, Gimli, Thelma, Rocket, Forrest, Al Giordino, Severus, Mushu, Mérida, Gibbs, Jack…Dead Pool (he’s a goldfish).

Chloe’s biggest fault is the apparent inability to say “no” whether it’s in response to a call for aid or a double-dog-dare to hike home through 30 acres of a snow-covered forest at midnight…during a full moon. It was early morning during said adventure when she came upon a group of sheriff’s deputies searching for a lost girl. So, of course she offered to help (turns out, they were searching for her).

She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, Northeast Ohio Romance Writers where she served on the board in 2020, RWA Contemporary Romance Writers, The Beau Monde Romance Writers group, where she served as secretary 2017-2019.

She has given workshops and presentations on creating a critique group, how to provide effective critiques, story structure, marketing and self-publishing lessons to writers groups, library patrons and school children.

Chloe has a weakness for good red wine, Calvin & Hobbes comics, pie, dark chocolate and brown-eyed guys with beards, which is probably why she digs pirates, men in uniform and treasure hunters and writes about action and adventure and of course romance, which is the greatest adventure of all.

Chloe gives away a signed book each month to a lucky newsletter subscriber; once you sign up, your name stays in the hat.

READERS who like American historical romance, women's fiction or ACTION & ADVENTURE mixed with HISTORICAL ROMANCE, pirates, sailing ships, sea adventures, independent heroines who fall for dark, tortured brave heroes, will enjoy the Pirates & Petticoats series about strong women and the scoundrels who fall in love with them.

This is a continuation of If You Give. smuggler a Secret. There is so much continuing action in this one they’ve moved from land to sea. So much chemistry and passion I can’t get enough. Landon and Keelan find out so much. So exciting not a dull moment. Now I have to for sure read If you give a Hellion your Heart.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I received a free ARC of this novel via Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. My opinion is my own.

This is the sexy version of The Heart of a Rake. While I enjoyed the first version this was SO much better. I would definitely recommend reading the first book beforehand or a lot of the story will not make sense. There is hot and sexy action. roguish pirates, damsels in distress...what's not to like.

I would recommend this entire series

Non-stop action, twists, mystery, secrets, and deceit - oh my! I literally couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.
Set in Charleston, SC and the high seas, this is a crazy, wild adventure.

This is the 2nd book in the series about Keelan and Landon.
    * Please read book one first or you’ll miss too much. I recommend these books and hope you like them as much as I do.

    A Hidden Gem Review

It has been a while so I had forgotten about this story, but only a few chapters in I remembered having been left dangling. So here we are.

This segment isn't bad, it's a continuation of the story, literally. The only difference here is that the author is spending a lot of time reiterating the previous. It's well written but needs a final editing. I will remind; ARC means Advanced Reader's Copy. Meaning, what is sent out is supposed to be a finished example of what J.Q.Public will be receiving. Mine is a volunteered effort and it is not my job or even choice to note oversights, record them and send them in. What I get is what others are paying for.

While this part of the story could be taken as the end, it's not. More is to be discovered in the final portion, although it is predictable I have to admit Ms. Flowers does have a knack for twists and turns. Things are a little too convenient most of the time but they are unique. I'm actually curious as to what's coming.

No sooner did I finish this, I received an email about a more adult version of this story. I realized what I have been reading is a cleaned up rendition. Interesting, now I'll have to go back and do this all over again.

It's a good read but I feel the whole story should be presented as a complete tell. Because really, what was told here wouldn't have been much more than a novella.

A chosen read and volunteered review.

I was given this book for free to read and review. Once again Keelan and her love Captain Landon Hart struggle to be together is this gloriously romantic historical fiction series. This being book two I would highly recommend reading book one not only for relevance but also because it is so amazingly wonderful and you will fall in love with characters instantly. I adore this series because it has a little bit of everything swashbuckling, intrigue, sassy heroine, rakish rogues, pirates, vendettas, run away slaves, and so much more. What's great about this book is we finally get to be at sea on the amazing ships and see some sea battle. I can't wait to finish the series with book three. So please give this series a read and enjoy the life of the rogue captain and his lady love.

This book can be read alone but I highly recommend reading the first book. It goes more in-depth into the backstory of the main characters. If you don't like cliffhangers, neither book is right for you unless you're prepared to just binge them all back to back.

Keelan is complex and dynamic. Typically, historical romance heroines are either these blushing innocents or bold and independent. Keelan is a mix of both.

Landon is a pretty typical hero though. Tall, dark, mysterious and slightly disreputable.

There's so much action in this book that it's quite a pageturner. I mean actual action and adventure. There's very little sexy time which to be honest I'm kind of over at this point. So this format of mostly plot and character development is a breath of fresh air. I'm not a prude or anything but the typical formula gets boring.

There's mystery, pirates, the threat of war breaking out, a death bed confession, and oh yah romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do hope the third installment ties up some loose ends because I can't take too many more cliffhangers.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my review. The opinions expressed within are completely my own.

I voluntarily read this free book. I was glad the first two books were included. I absolutely loved the characters. Landon is handsome and devilish and Keelan is feisty and beautiful. I really enjoyed how their love story began. I love the mystery and the intrigue in the plot. There are pirates, slave owners and those that help them escape, betrayal from loved ones, murderers and other dysfunctional situations and bonds that last a lifetime. I found humor when Keenan would tell him Landon off. She was a strong female character with her knife throwing abilities. I like the details in her past and hope we get to meet up with family members in the next book. I could just keep reading about their lives. This was a really well written series and I can't wait for more.
