Order of the Dragon (Warbler Peninsula Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 15 ratings

Drake MacGregor always adhered to the adage ‘let sleeping dragons lie’, until he slept with one.

In an effort to make up for his past as Vlad the Impaler, Drake has been living a small, quiet life in Three Lakes. As the town’s archivist, his knowledge of history and his place in it weigh on him. Drake has one desire—to rectify the atrocities committed in the name of his knightly order. Too bad he can’t keep his hands, or his fangs, off the local doctor, especially when he discovers she’s an actual dragon.

Aliandra Cantora del Viento is old enough and wise enough to ignore her attraction to the handsome historian, especially when her heart suggests he might be something more than he appears. Drake stokes her fires and curls her tail, and after a hot night in her clinic, the game is on. But he avoids her and nothing she tries breaks through his reserve, despite his obvious interest. He turns her on then apologizes for it, repeatedly. Not exactly the kind of relationship she’d hoped for yet she can’t walk away.

When a mysterious researcher arrives with his son, Drake becomes more edgy and irritable, and Aliandra must decide if she’s willing to fight for him. Especially when he might be her True Mate.

Siobhan Muir writes kick-ass adventure with hot sex for men and women to enjoy. She believes in happily ever after, redemption, and communication, all of which you will find in her paranormal romance and dauntless romance stories.

She lives in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with her husband, two daughters, a kitten who thinks he’s a dog, a cat who’s not impressed with him, and the dog who just wants to go for a walk. When not writing, she can be found looking down a microscope at fossil fox teeth, pursuing her other love, paleontology. An avid reader of science fiction/fantasy, her husband gave her a paranormal romance for Christmas one year, and she was hooked for good.

In previous lives, Siobhan has been an actor at the Colorado Renaissance Festival, a field geologist in the Aleutian Islands, and restored inter-planetary imagery at the USGS. She's hiked to the top of Mount St. Helens and to the bottom of Meteor Crater. Everything inspires her tales, be it a limping cowboy at a pancake breakfast, a song on the radio, or social issues facing the world, the stories keep coming.

This is the first book, which is a paranormal romance by Siobhan Muir and it has definitely got me wanting more of these characters stories. I can picture this small town and the little shops, you just want to be there with them.
Drake McGregor is the town archivist who has been living a quiet life and trying to do some good for the Elder Races. Drake is a complex vampire with a dark past which haunts him. I also really liked that he is a mature vampire.
Aliandra is a doctor working at the clinic in town. She is a dragon who knows what she wants and she's used to getting it. She's a smart, strong heroine who does not need rescuing.
Together they have great chemistry and I love how they are not the same species. How the author weaves the town and their stories together, I am hoping to read more about this town.
There is danger, laughter and a very happy ending.
I highly recommend this book for the paranormal romance reader, who likes fiery romance, steamy sexy scenes and unique couples.

God, I love Siobhan Muir's stories, and this one (which I assume is the first in a new series) is not to be missed. Her characters are fully fleshed out and compelling, and both their romance and the danger surrounding them will keep you turning pages. Fantastic work, Ms. Muir -- now when's the next book out?

I love the phrase dragonly possible. It's awesome!
I think it's my favorite from the book.
This was a quick but enjoyable read following a dragon and a vampire as they go up against forces set to destroy their kind and find their way to each other.
I really liked how strong the leading lady was and how she didn't need rescued.
I also liked how the author took two species and put them together as mates. Not that I haven't see it before but vampires are usually with a human...I think adding a dragon instead of a human put a fun unique spin on the relationship.

Order of the Dragon is Book 1 in Siobhan Muir's Warbler Peninsula Series. I enjoyed the creativity of both the cast of characters and the storyline. The characters include paranormal beings and human beings, living together harmoniously, most of the time, in a tiny northern town. Chaos, love, a dragon, an orphan, a historian all come together to conquer evil. Ms. Muir's stories are truly entertaining, well written and never disappoint. I can't wait for Book 2.

Drake is such a tortured soul. But a female dragon, the local doctor, is as bold as she is beautiful. She wants Drake, but he fights her verbally at every turn. Talk about an ancient vampire that runs hot and cold, the man is his own worst enemy. Oh, maybe not. A truly evil entity has come to the peaceful Warbler Peninsula. I loved this book. Lots of stuff happening, and not just between the vampire and the dragon. But I have to admit, a secondary character stole the show for me. I loved, loved, loved Tom.

So, this book was a new one for me with its different take on the role of an alpha in a relationship. There are two great main characters, Drake the vampire and Aliandra the dragon, who are both alphas in their own rites. But when it comes to their relationship, Aliandra is definitely the alpha, which I found oddly pretty awesome! I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it, I mean vampires are always portrayed as the take charge, sexy, alphas, but this just worked, and it worked beautifully.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic story full of love, passion, and magic

Ah, the blurb and the steamy excerpt caught my attention, and I'm so glad it did, because this was fantastic story. An ancient vampire mated to a dragon? Yeah, what's not to like about that arrangement? When these two get together, they steam up the pages.

Draco is deliciously tortured and Aliandra is as strong and feisty as you'd expect a dragon to be.

    A great read!
