Beautiful Grace Paget has no reason not to believe these words. After all, she was kidnapped, spirited away to a remote country manor, and told she is to grant this man his every desire . . . or lose her life. But Grace is no common trollop. So she risks everything to save her virtue by planning a daring escape, even though she finds herself tempted by this handsome man. There is something in his eyes that makes her wonder if he is as dangerous as he would have her believe.

Sheene knew nothing of the plan to bring him this woman. Locked up as a prisoner, called "mad" by all of the world, he will do anything to reclaim his life, and Grace's sensuous beauty has distracted him from his goals. And although he finds her irresistible, he is horrified to hold her against her will. Now, together, they must both revolt against the strange set of circumstances that have forced them together—for only then will Grace truly surrender to him . . . forever.

Excellently Written !!! I love this author and she is for sure on my favorite list. I just hope she continues writing more of these wonderful books because what a talent she has. This is one of the best Historical Romance books I have read, and Ive read quite a few. I am a very good critique person, but maybe some out there like all the annoying details of surrounding country tidbits and clothing which to me take the attention away from the H&H when they go on and on about it and it reads like an Encyclopedia, because I think that is very distracting in a romance novel, and it can become too much at times and then you are on information overload and the Hero & Heroine suffer in the story for it. The point of books is to escape and enjoy and frankly I don't sit on my computer looking up every historical fact as I read a book, I read it to relax and enjoy a nice romance, and yet she does a wonderful job to bring you into the Historical time period.

BUT, if this is the authors second book and it is any judge for her writing gifts, her upcoming ones will continue to rise to greater heights, if that is even possible because this book was soaring. Possibly it is things within a story that cause us to think more highly of one over another when we read them due to relating in some way, but this book is very touching as well as passionate. With this in mind I HIGHLY recommend it!!!. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round with all sorts of taste out there and we are diverse by nature, but I think this one is a keeper, at least for me. Both the Hero and Heroine were endearing, and a natural falling in love with the characters occured in this book, and yet at the same time there was a building of tension within the storyline between the two and the protagonist of the story which kept you anticipating. But Wow!! well it containes incredible sexual tension that left the reader satisfied and yearning for more. Lets put it this way, their alchemy together was simply amazing. A perfect blend of sensuality and passion, not an erotic book but a deep passionate sensual one because LOVE was for sure there and that is what makes sensual different then erotic but don't get me wrong it was explicit at times but It was realistically written enough to feel every scene within it. This book also brought tears to my eyes because the storyline was so touching and you just didn't know if they would have that happy ever after ending. The ending was great!!!!

The Hero and Heroine did not have an easy life prior to their meeting and so I especially enjoyed the Heroine's courage and strength, not in an overboard way as in being spoiled or demanding as many books paint them to be, so this lady lead was a nice change. She was elegant and passionate, not afraid to need or want or letting the hero know what she felt, nor was she obstinate stubborn with rejecting his protection when needed. She had just the right amount of fire to offset the Hero's intense heart. The hero was simply amazing and yes he was a tortured soul, strong, courageous and valiant. He was also very protective and yet showed weakness which in no way distracted the reader from his obvious Spirit of Honor.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this book was inspired by a dream because it was so well done and was detailed in such a way to pull the reader into the lives of the characters that it almost appeared magical for how subtle hints of symbolic undertones were entwined within the pages, and especially at the end of this satisfying romance. I line books up on my shelf that are keepers and of course from my favorite down to my not so favorite and this book here by Anna Campbell, well I put it right smack up at the top. The book is a page turner that will keep you up late into the night, and the ending will not disappoint you, except that it be over for you and you would wish the story to go on and on. Plenty of alchemical sensual scenes, along with wonderful storyline that will surely having you look for her next one. Buy it, you can't go wrong.

Untouched is an entertaining novel about a young widow named Grace who finds herself abducted off the streets and taken to a remote country estate, where she is expected to be a prostitute for an insane nobleman who has been imprisoned there by his evil uncle. Fortunately, the nobleman isn't so crazy, and he is quite attractive. Although Grace wants her freedom, she has difficulty resisting Matthew's charms. Eventually the two fall in love and Grace must escape to save them both.

I really enjoyed this novel, particularly the beginning. I found Matthew to be an attractive person, and I enjoyed his quirky personality. He is also a virgin which is sort of unusual. Grace, I found to be a bit average. She is one of those widows who are less than experienced with love. I felt she was a bit rude to Matthew during their first encounter. About the only thing I didn't like is that Matthew vows to kill himself to protect Grace which I felt was a bit over the top.

My other criticism is I thought the author writes hot bed scene, she almost went overboard with the numerous encounters. It's fine to do numerous, but only if there is variety. The entire middle of the book, devolved into rather repetitive shagging which became quite boring.

I liked the ending. I think the book should have a sequel. What life is like for Matthew and Grace now? 4 stars. I felt this started with a bang, but devolved into mindless shagging in the middle without enough plot to hold it together.

This book is not my usual read, it was far darker than what I classically choose but the blurb caught my eyes.
It took me a while after to decide to read it but as I will meet the author in a few days, I could no longer delay it.
What a rollercoaster of a ride, Grace and Mathew’s story has me on edge during the whole tale.
So much I devoured it in an afternoon.
Grace and Mathew are survivors, they both faced so much and they were so young when their life was shattered and disrupted.
Sure Grace had made an enormous mistake and in these times, society was unforgivable to fallen women, but she was only sixteen, no more a girl but not yet a woman, plus she married the culprit, and for these she paid a high price.
The true culprit was her husband, he was fifty for god sake!
He lured her as he was like a forbidden fruit to a girl who just awakened to her womanhood.
I cried for Mathew, he was stripped from everything, beaten and abused, lured by lies, it is a wonder he was still sane. His coldness and defiance toward Grace upon their first meeting was very understandable and could have last longer after everything he went through.
He is a marvel of a man, when he commits it is for life.
Mrs Anna Campbell crafted a beautiful story, giving them time to get to know the other, with tender but passionate scenes where they learned about another, Mathew might be a virgin but he is willing to not be the only one to enjoy sexual congress, while he explores his sexuality, it is like a partnership with Grace who previously endured it like a chore.
Impossible to sum up this story but both will stop at anything to protect the other, facing more abuse or be torn apart, whatever, they will cope with what life throws on their path.
    The ending was superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Berührende und ungewöhnliche Regency
Reviewed in Germany on February 3, 2017

If you start reading this, be prepared to do nothing else for the rest of the day. Yes, it's that compelling. The connection between Grace and Matthew is immediate and wonderfully sustained throughout the story. Meatier and far more original plot line than your typical regency romance. Sensual and frankly erotic at times. My first Anna Campbell novel - definitely won't be my last!

5.0 out of 5 stars exceptional writing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 4, 2008
Really well written characters in a plot that is well paced right to the end. What was really exceptional about this novel that brings out AC from the other authors is the way she develops feelings from start to finish so you are taken on this emotional rollercoaster with what the characters are experiencing. There was absolutely no doubt that Matthew loved Grace at the end & was willing to do anything for her. She is great & I cannot beleive that she has only written 3 novels to date. When I love books by any author I usually buy all of the published titles & in this case after CTC her next is in 2009. Aaaaah!!!
This is bound to leave you with a relly mushy feeling, do not miss this one - all you romance lovers out there & no you cannot borrow mine- go buy your own!!
