Sure, her boyfriend Phillip may not be the love of her life, but the good-looking reporter is fun, steady, dependable…predictable. But sometimes predictability was good.

What starts out for Chase as an average publicity trip to Chicago suddenly becomes complicated when his manager tells him Hope Creswell will be interviewing him in the morning. He spent eight years trying to forget Hope, and now she would be in his penthouse in a matter of hours? Some things are too painful to forget. When Chase opens the door to his penthouse and finds Hope on the opposite side, his heart beats a rhythm the rocker has never captured in any of his music. Their mere proximity fans the smoldering embers of their former romance. But should he abandon hope, or chase the love that once rocked his world?

    I loved this book. I read it in one setting.

    Childhood sweethearts Chase Hatton and Hope Creswell take us on a journey of first love and first heartbreak. After eight years of separation they are drawn back together and have to make a choice to make it work or not. Chase is a big Rockstar and Hope has a mediocre job as a Journalist. Hope has trust issues with Chase and must work through them. Chase is reluctant at first to have a relationship with Hope but when fate has a say in the matter sparks fly.

    As with other MJ books she gives us the gamut of emotions; love, laughter, tears, and heartbreak. The sexual tension between the two characters is intense. The angst factor is high and had me wanting to throttle both characters or jump in and referee. The mystery in this story comes late in the book and is not as intense as other books by MJ but it fits well. The whole aspect of the mystery brings the couple closer together. I loved with this story it is more focused on the couple and how they work through their relationship. One of my favorite scenes in the book is the 2nd prom. (I won’t say anymore I don’t want to ruin it for any one, but SWOON!) You will have to read it for yourself.

    I am in love with the Epilogue of this book. Who wouldn’t want a Chase as their man? This book is a standalone with a HEA. I will be recommending this book to everyone. Read it you will not be disappointed.

    Hope and Chase met when they were twelve and it was love at first sight. Separated on prom night by a misunderstanding and betrayal, they still never forgot their first love. Eight years later, Hope is a newspaper reporter and her latest assignment is to interview Chase, now a famous rock star. Hope has a serious boyfriend but she still can't forget the feelings they once had for each other. Can Hope do her job and stay true to her boyfriend or will they get caught up in each other all over again?

    This is a pretty uncomplicated and unchallenging story about first love. There's a bit of the rock star theme in there but it's mostly about their relationship during high school. There's very little drama, really. But it's a sweet story and the characters are likable.

    Toward the end, the book takes a strange turn into a seemingly different story. I understand the author wanted to add in some danger but something related to the music business would have been more in keeping with the story. It was pretty unbelievable that Hope would have thought this was a good idea, but it's quickly resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

    A long epilogue wraps up the relationship in great detail.

    Nothing really bad but nothing really great either. Just a quick, sweet story.

    Hope Creswell writes for a newspaper and is given the task to interview a big rock star - Chase Hatton. Of course, there is history between them, and they must figure out a way to get through her ride-along interview without any more heart-bruises than those they've already inflicted on one another.
    M.J. Schiller brings her characters to life with both great writing and great humor. Abandon All Hope is endearing and fun and worth every moment spent within its covers. Very well done.

    This was a pretty good love story. It felt and seemed a little like the standard story how boy and girl loses each other (for no apparent reason) but find each other in the end. There was a little twist with the mobster that was unexpected, but all and all it was pretty predictable.

It's warm and takes you into the life behind the scenes ... well not all of Abandon All Hope is behind the scenes. There are plenty of chances to get a peek at Chase's stage life and Hope's involvement there. Schiller's characters are real with flaws that make you believe them yet still want to cheer for them. I can't wait for the next installment in her Rocking Romance collection!

    I'm a sucker for a rockstar :0) This is the second book in M.J Schiller's Rocking Romance Collection. I really enjoyed this book although I found it hard to get into at first however from about 20% onwards I was glued! The story line was interesting and included suspense and drama which left me unable to put the book down and I read it in one day. The epilogue was great and a nice length which gave closure to the story. I can't wait to read the next book in the collection. :0)
