About the author

Bestselling author M.J. Schiller is a retired lunch lady/romance-romantic suspense writer. She enjoys writing novels whose characters include rock stars, desert princes, teachers, futuristic Knights, construction workers, cops, and a wide variety of others. In her mind everybody has a romance. She is the mother of a twenty-two-year-old and three twenty-year-olds. That's right, triplets! So having recently taught four children to drive, she likes to escape from life on occasion by pretending to be a rock star at karaoke. However…you won’t be seeing her name on any record labels soon.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2015This story was about forbidden love. Adi wants to do more than be a princess. She wants to help others. This causes her to develop a relationship with a commoner, Seth. Adi is enfolded into Seth's family, and she falls in love with more than just Seth. Adi and Seth must battle those that would keep them apart, but through the trials, they stay true to each other and believe in each other. I enjoyed this story very much. It was a sweet romance, filled with familial connections that were endearing.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2013The love between the princess Adi and the blacksmith, Seth, is a love of turmoil attacked from all angles. M.J. paints a crystal clear picture in a reader's mind using just the right amount of imagery. I felt I was in Adi's castle as well as the meager home of Seth. Schiller has a way of writing that made me prefer the meager home! I enjoyed this book 2 of her romantic realms collection and am looking forward to #3! -R.T. Wolfe
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2014This is the love story of Adriana and Seth. Adriana is a princess living a life of privledge and Seth is a commoner struggling to survive. Their paths cross when Seth is being punished by her one of the kings brutal guards and Adriana begs her father, the king , to stop the beating and set him free. Seth sneaks into the castle to thank Adi and all the drama begins. Due to circumstances that develope, Adi finds out how the other half lives and how mean her father and his men can be. She leaves her cushioned life to be with Seth and his family.
I am not a huge fan of stories with all the pomp and circumstance of old time courting and rules. Adi has to follow promises made when she was a child and here is where I get lost or should I say where Adi should have gotten lost. I wish she and Seth just ran away together at that point...but I guess there would be no story to tell then.
I will say I did enjoy this book and Adi's feisty personality. Seth was very admirable and never waivered in his loyalty to both his love and his family. I didn't quite understand Garin's personality..it changed from best friend to worst enemy and back too fast for me. In modern days we would say he was quite manic as I felt the King was too. Tristan and Lea were very endearing and I love how Tristan carried a little flame for Adi and how Lea kept her brother in line when needed.
Thank you again for entertaining me with this story M.J Schiller
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2013An Uncommon Love is a treasure to acquire! As soon as I started it I fell in love with Adriana, Seth, their story and M.J. Schiller's writing. Unlike most romances, I loved everything about this novel. With most romances, there's too much angst, too much cheese, and an unnecessary amount of love making. With An Uncommon Love, there was just the right amount of everything.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2013An Uncommon Love reminded me of A Princess Bride. It's a romantic, sweet escape from the everyday. Adriana and Seth realize quickly that they love each other, but it won't be easy for them to be together. Their journey is heartfelt and makes you root for them to find their happily ever after. I really enjoyed this one.
