I cannot stop thinking about this book.

Lauryn Dyan has a lot of talent in storytelling. I love the way the story flows and the characters are so intense. The interest level for the characters involved just builds and builds. When I think of an awesome, rocker character, I think of Kennedy. When I think of a great book involving musicians, this one is the best one I can think of. It is on par in that subject as Stephen King's "Revival" in my mind. The characters are very decisive and the world built around them is very believable.

It's just really wonderful and it sticks with you.

A really impressive book. If you like the description, just pick it up. Don't even hesitate. It's a great read and a lot of fun to think about once you're done.

Most of the characters in Hollow Stars are named after bands, artists, or songs from the early 2000s emo, screamo, and post-hardcore scene such as Thursday, Chiodos, The Used, AFI, Circa Survive, Alexisonfire, The Early November, and more. A few 90s gems may have snuck in as well. Adding these was a fun way to pay tribute to the artists that have influenced my life and create easter eggs for anyone else who was heavily influenced by the scence. They are organically woven in so that every reader can enjoy the novel whether they catch them or not.

    This is an absolute page-turner!

    I really enjoyed this book. I stayed up too late too many nights trying to get to the bottom of the mystery and hoping my theories panned out. I never saw the ending coming! Dyan is a gifted story teller!
